I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding next Saturday. The ceremony starts at 3.30, the reception is at 6pm.
The dress is a corset style strapless number. So 2 questions:
1 - What kind of bra should I get? I normally use a maternity one but that doesn't work so well with a strapless dress! I will be needing to feed during the night and there is no parents room available.
2 - How on earth do you manage to feed in a monster of a dress? It's really difficult to tie. I need advice and practical hints.
How have others handled this situation?

A friend of mine was in the same pickle last weekend. Luckily her dress was actually a corset and skirt, so after the ceremony and the photos were done, she changed her top and put on one that was more BF friendly. The new shirt was the same colour as the skirt and made of stretchy material. Would the bride mind if you changed into something else for the reception? Good excuse to go shopping and find something nice!
I suppose expressing milk for the evening is out of the question, or you wouldn't be asking for ideas?
Good luck, and have fun! I love weddings :)

A friend was in a similar situation and she had a different top made in a similar fabric that was based on breastfeeding tops and she wore that to the reception....it was a pain to spend the extra money but it was all she could do (her bub wouldn't take EBM in a bottle or cup)
I'm a dill! I thought the dress was 2 piece.......ummm now I'm no help!

Thanks girls.
I might see if I can find a backup outfit for the reception. What a terrible thing, having to go shopping again :p
In Target they have white, black, and bone coloured stretchy boob tube bras, seam free and longer then average so they work as a tummy sucker inner as well and they are great for feeding in.
You know the place that the reception is at, so why not call them, explain that you would like to know where you will be able to go to be able to feed bub. that way you can untie the corset and feed and not be worried about everything falling out and getting messy, and you will prpbably be greatful of the time to yourself with bub.
Please dont think Im not pro feeding anywhere as Im all for it, just know that weddings are crazy and I know I found that I was so happy to have some space, to recharge.
Hope this helps
Partner or other friend can do the burping and that way you wont get messy.
I was breastfeeding still at my wedding, and had to take the whole dress off pretty much. Luckily the reception place had a small private room intended for the bride anyway, so i just took DS and my bestie in there to help.
Is there any sort of room like that you could use at the reception?
Not that that helps for the actual ceremony. Sorry:confused:
