Was it the baby or what?

Woke this morning, went to the loo and came back to bed for a few mins and thought mmm my tummy feels really hard. Felt it and could feel a big lump in there lol which would move from side to side, go soft then come back again. Do you think it was the baby? :o Or is it too small still to feel it yet?

I am 14 weeks 2 days.

Kristy more then likely it is your uterus you are feeling - from memory it is the size of a grapefruit at present?

I wandered that at first but it was sitting to the side and then it moved to the other side, can a uterus do this and inbetween it would go soft and could not feel it. You could see the lump too.

A website that I get a weekly update from says that the baby should currently be the size of a lime. I know with my pregnancies before (and just starting in the last week or so) I could feel a lump whenever I laid down in bed and prodded around - which is my uterus. I finally got the midwife at the OB's to show me what I was feeling and she moved my hands around. It was great much later on - around 28wks and after when you could start to feel where the baby was located and where it's head was etc.
