Hi everyone i have just wondering if any other twin mums had develoment prombles with there twins i have twin girls who are 8 months old they are sitting up by them self and draging the them self around the floorbut not yet up on ther knees crawling but my doc was saying they are behind and he all so said all twins have develoment prombles and do u think all twins have develoment problems and does has anyone have any avice with twins develoment :)
From what you said, I dont' think your twins are behind at all. My bub is 7 1/2mths old and is sitting independently and not yet crawling either. All babies are different and develop in their own good time.
I wouldn't be worried about not crawling just yet!!
I agree too! We went to a 1 year old's birthday party on the weekend, and he (second child) has only just started to crawl in the past couple of weeks! I remember being told by my ECHC nurse that kids all do different things at different times basically because they just can't focus on too many things at once. Some will learn to 'speak' early but they are most likely less mobile, whilst others will crawl earlier but perhaps will be less vocal until older. All in all, it balances out in the end.
I have 6 1/2 month old twins boys who are sitting independantly but not yet crawling. They too push themselves along but do not get up on their knees yet. They were born 7 weeks premmie and the doctor says we should go by their adjusted age not actual age for their milestones, but they are doing most things 6 month old babies are supposed to. Were your girls premmie?

HI!
My b/g twins are 10mths old today and still no crawling! They're trying hard but just not hard enough. Crawling is not a milestone anyway, and I skipped crawling when I was a baby and went straight to walking at 11mths.
Just remember, they'll eventually do it, then you'll be chasing them all over the place! At least at the moment, they stay where you put them!

Yeah I definetly wouldn't worry. My son was over 9 months before he started crawling and is now almost 1 and still not walking. Your babies have a long way to go before you would even consider it being a problem. And I would seriously consider changing doctors as it sounds as though he hasn't much idea about babies.

I have 4 boys
My eldest is now 8 and he never crawled well not until about 3 when we had him checked out by our physio department ( differnt topic!! SORRY) :p
Then there our our ident twins 5 years they crawled real early up on knees at 5 months and to be honest it was sooooo cute at first then about a fortnight later when I lost one, the reality set in. And it only gets harder by the time they turned 12 months and start walking, we thought we had created 2 little monsters and to be honest every year it gets that little bit harder.
My baby is 10 months and has been crawling for about 4 months BUT in saying that there is only one and he is easy to catch. ;)
So enjoy this moment while you can, because once they start crawling and walking your life becomes that more challanging. I love my boys and wouldn't change them, but gees twins are certainly much more work!

Hi there :)
Our Boy/Girl twins are 7.2 months old and Brooklen is sitting unassisted and Hayden is still lazing around LOL. He is rocking every now and again on his knees and I think he will crawl first but for now they are both happy to roll where they want to go to.
Dont think that its a bad thing and sometimes the worst part about having multiples is that you are constantly comparing what they are doing with each other and also singletons.....
It seems by the replies here that you have nothing to stress about and if they were born early that too makes a difference. Hayden and Brooklen were born at 37+1 so a couple of weeks behind....
Hope that helps and feel free to email me anytime for a chat!!

My boy is 9 months old and still not crawling on hands and knees yet but he kind of does a comando shuffle + roll to get where he wants. I found that from birth medical people all had conflicting opinions, so now I only go when he needs his needles. I use the old "Mummy knows best" intuition thing to guide me through + bub hub of course has been fantastic, I just wish I had found out sooner than last week.
