:wave:Hi Everyone,

Me and my dh are the "oh so very very lucky" couple that Sarah (WA Mum of Four) has offered to donate to for her second time. Sarah has openly and generously shared with everyone her experiences as a donor.... and so here I am (aftering making sure Sarah was OK with it) to share our experiences from "the Flip Side".

The journey to here has for us been difficult...so when a stranger that you have never met or spoken to sends you an email to say that they would like to offer you the most precious opportunity/gift - its truly amazing. For days after our first conversation with Sarah - I felt like I was walking on air. Anything was possible!!!

To say that I was nervous about meeting with Sarah and her family Sunday last week is an understatement - I was totally scared! Its hard to explain why I felt that way - but perhaps it stemmed from doubts about myself being "worthy" enough to receive such an awesome gift from someone who was clearly such a very special person.

As you know now - the day was a great success. We had a fanastic time getting to know Sarah and her family and felt truly comfortable. We look forward to getting together with them in the future and letting our relationship develop.

Since being in contact with Sarah - I have discovered that my FSH levels have dropped to an OK level and the doctors have suggested that I give one IVF cycle a go (even though very borderline). Something that I thought would never happen - I start my nasal sprays tomorrow.

:fingerscrossed: all will go well - but if not, it is comforting to know that Sarah is there waiting to assist in time. Sarah is most definitely a generous, caring, wonderful person, who along with her dh is raising four fantastic kids.

Diana

PS. We met Sarah thru this wonderful and very supportive site. Thanks Bubhub!

Hi Diana

Not sure where this is hidden I had to search all your posts to find it as I was intregued by your message to JoAnne

Well congratulations and having the lovely sarah as your donor, and I hope you do have your own thread like JoAnne to keep us all posted, and that is with your own cycle as well as we love to be there to support your worried moments and celebrate your joys. Need some celebrating at the moment.

Thanks everyone....it is as you say - truly fantastic.

I hope Tashimoo that you find your donor soon - the waiting is incredibly hard. Like you I found it inspiring to hear of others that found a donor.

In answer to your question Joanne - Sarah and I are not seeing the counsellor just yet. If the current IVF cycle that I am undergoing at this very moment isn't successful than we will start to make the necessary appointments.

We have plenty of time - Sarah must rest her body after her last donation effort for at least 6 months. Under no circumstance would I want to proceed prior to this time elapsing and Sarah being totally ready.

Best wishes
Diana

Hi Leisurly,

Everythings going OK at this stage....

Been a bit ill and a little emotional due to the nasal sprays. (Poor dh is on his toes!!)

Get my bloods tested tomorrow to see when I start the injections. :fingerscrossed: all is OK and I can start real soon.

I will keep everyone informed of my progress.

Thanks for thinking of me.

:hugs: to poor hubby

The progesterone sends me into a very tense state, I'm so snappy and feel so down, I'm enjoying being 'normal' what ever that is for the mo

Hi Diana,

Just wanted to say 'well done' I know that walking on air feeling when you find your angel. It is a credit to this wonderful site that matches are made - I know it breathes hope into so many people.

I think you are very right to take your time and get it right with Sarah. Good luck for your own cycle. Here's hoping for a :xmas: BFP.

Thanks Elaine,

I agree that bubhub is a fantastic place - enabling matches and providing much needed support.

I'm quietly progressing with my cycle. I fly down to Perth early next week for bt's and scans. :fingerscrossed: there will be some follicles developing and we will be able to progress to the next stage. I'm trying not to think too much in advance and just take each day as it comes.

Cheers Diana
