Boof has been sick all of 3 times in his 20mths of life nothing serious luckily so i know when he is out of sorts.
He is running a temp nothing major but he is very warm & gets sweaty.
He is whingey & sooky wanting lots of cuddles but my main issue is that he keeps wanting to sleep.
He actually didnt wake until 10am this morning  now a sleep in was fair enough as yesterday he didnt nap all day being awake 13hrs straight & then had a very bad nite waking every hour but 10am !!!!!
Then he pretty much cuddled me or DP throughout the morning until he went back down for a snooze at 1pm & slept until 5pm
He is now even more whingey & i noticed when i put on his nappy he startled like he has a sore tummy so sort of pressed around & he whinge & grimaced.
He has only take a few bites to eat but is drinking loads of water so no dehydration issues but whats going on ????
He has no rash nothing not even the runs etc for me to have any idea whats up !!!!
Anyone else had this sort of thing ??!?!?!?!?!

He may just be working had to fight off a virus. If he is no better tomorrow It would be worth taking him to the Drs

Do you have a nurse's hotline that you can ring? I know that when I am sick I sleep all the time. I think that the body is conserving its energy for fighting the illness. I would take him to the doctor's or hospital just for peace of mind. All of the doctors where I am bulk bill under 16s.

Oh Ally I hope it's just a short lived bug he's picked up.
I'd take him to the doc tommorrow and see what he says.
I think the extra sleeping is definatley as sign he isn't well, you know that yourself.
My girls had a tummy bug last week, again no vomitting or runs just felt yucky but not excesivley (sp?) tired.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
:hugs: to you both

Ive just put him back to bed because at 10pm i went in to check on him after i thought i heard him cry a little. He asked to be picked up so i did & nearly freaked he was roasting so took him straight into our room to see him in the light. He was so red he looked sunburnt i stripped him off & took his temp 39.4 but he is still talking & trying to play  Threw him in the bath to cool him down & gave him another dose of Neurofen.
Im going to wait another hour & if i cant get his temp down im taking him to the hospy :(

Last time I rang the nurse's hotline for Sam they told me that if the temp is over 39.5 to go to the hospital.

:fingerscrossed: for boof to feel better

  I thought when I read this thread "how did I miss this? I was on here last night!"
Notice my post was at 12.03am...when I read your OP it said 'yesterday'...oh...it's been a long day and I have to go to bed...obviously!!!!
Do you have a locum service connected with your GP that you could call? Might be better than having to take him out at this hour.

Hi Allyoo there could be a chance that he has a urine infection.I remember a while ago dd had very bad temp and she just wasnt unwell but there seemed to be nothing else wrong with her.She had an ongoing temp for 3 days when i took her to the hospital and was told she has a urine infection. It didnt matter what i gave her she still had a temp. She went on antobiotics and ther was improvement straight away.

It is quite common for bubbies to sleep alot when sick. As you are concerned, as a mumma I would be take him to the hospital or even to see a pharmacist asap. That way his symptoms can be treated and you have peace of mind. It sounds like some sort of belly bug. If you don't take him tonight just monitor him to make sure that his temperature is under control.

I had similar symptons last week with my DS bout same age.

Burning up (39.6) and extremely lethargic and sleepy. We thought he was reacting to a tick so thought it would pass. Rang the hospy they werent interested

2 days later, no better, and sleeping all the time so off to DR, turns out to be a throat infection- weird cause he was still eating/drinking

Hope your DS is feeling better, you must be exhausted

How did you go last night, did you end up going to the hospital? When DS1 gets ear infections and tonsillitis, he gets very high temps (39 - 40) and sleeps all the time, but is still very happy. They only way we know he is sick, is because of his temp. Hope it all went well.

He settled down around 2am with me cuddling him was still awake but his temp lowered to 37 then it broke around 5am which was a relief.
He has been grumpy all day wouldnt actually sleep again today & then only finally fell asleep about 30mins ago but at least no temp again.
No other symptoms he is eating like he would normally still drinking water etc so hopefully we can just ride out whatever it is thats making him feel off.
Glad we didnt need the trip to the hospy.

Not good to hear!

My little one, who I thought was teething, had a high temp 2 days ago, and now is all runny nose and conjunctivitis :(
I did hear that there is something doing the rounds... Hopefully it has passed
:hugs:
