Hello!!!!! I am overdue and going a bit mental. I was due 7 days ago. I am feeling really crappy because I'm mentally prepared to go into labour each night and then nothing happens. I am booked in for an induction on Monday which I really don't want. I am already 3cm dilated but NOTHING is happening. I have tried EVERYTHING (except castor oil). :( :( :(

Oh sweetie you poor thing! I know it doesn't make you feel any better but I know how you feel! I said before in your other post, but I went 10 days over and quite frankly I was furious!!! I felt so cheated especially when out of 3 of us due on the same day, I was the only one who went over my due date. However (as I have probably said before) it really really was worth the wait and the minute my darling daughter was given to me, I couldn't have cared if I had to wait 10 years for that moment. Whatever happens the end is in sight - I understand your reservations about an induction as I was booked for one but thankfully went into labour the day before (which very often happens I am told). I think it is because I relaxed knowing it would all be over - bubba sure isnt going to move if you are tense.

oh - one thing that did cheer me up was that my midwife said that late babies are normally quicker developers...probably absolutely untrue but still!

Good luck - not long now :)

Hi Chinster,

Honestly I was the exact same positon as you 11 weeks ago. I was SOOOOOOOOOO fed up of being pregnant, was huge and tired and over the whole thing. I even threatened my DH I was going to perform a CS on myself... rather dramatic I know! lol I tried everyting but Castor oil as well.

My advice is, put your feet up, watch some DVD's, read a good book, get some sleep if bubs will let you, do your nails, write some emails to old friends. Basically anything you can do sitting down and relaxing.

I know it is frustrating but it will be your last chance to relax cos once bub comes life changes seriously!

Your baby wont be far away at all. And I am sure he/she will be beautiful when it arrives.

Feeling your pain from here and sending some labour vibes (if that makes sense).
Best of luck with the labour :)

Im so sorry that your still waiting. I remember that feeling very well. Jayden was 10 days overdue and he was unfortunately induced! I was 2cm dilated a week before and all i had was braxton hicks. All i can say is try to be patient. I know thats not what you want to hear but maybe if you relax it'll happen. Have you tried long walks? I remember that when i used to go for long walks i would come back with strong braxton hicks. Have you had any signs like mucous plug falling out, nesting urge, braxton hicks? Unfortunately babies have a mind of their own and chose when they want to show their faces!

It is actually perfectly normal to be pregnant till 41+6 with a first baby. Freaking out will only hold labour off as adrenaline is counterproductive to normal labour hormones. If you don't wish to be induced, then just say no. It is a dangerous procedure when carried out for no reason, and induction on dates alone is a practice specifically warned against by the World Health Organisation. If you're feeling scared about labour or parenting, now is the time to think about it and deal with that stuff. You can spend some quiet time communing with your baby and asking when they'll be ready to come. EDDs are only estimates since only 5% of babies come on them. Your baby isn't coming to a timetable, they're coming on their birthday and only they know when that is. Whenever it is, it's a lot closer than it was a month ago! I hope you can spend some quiet nurturing time with your partner and your beautiful belly. Your baby will come out in only a few days. I've never seen anyone enrolling their belly in school. They'll all come out eventually ;)

I'm feeling the same and I'm only 2 days over! Silly I know. But I am so ready for her to come. I'm going insane, and getting a little upset that she's not here yet. Especially as I'm spending my days alone at home. The weather's nice, the house is clean... BRING ME MY BABY!!!

I've tried all the suggestions, walking etc, even castor oil, and still nothing. Now I realise that only bubs knows when she wants to come out!!

I'm so excited since this is my first baby, It's just not fair! I want her right now!!

I know everyone says 'enjoy the time alone while you have it' but I'm sick of myself! I wanna be a mum already!! :D
