Hi
Jazmyn had her puppies today:
http://tinypic.com/29xyxjt.jpg
The one near my hand was the last to be born and is a male, the black one next to her was the 1st to be born and is female, the white one next to her was the 2nd to be born and is female, the little grey one was the 3rd to be born and is male and has been rejected by her as his intestines are outside his belly, other than that she did a good job and only took 30 minutes start to end.
Katie
cute!!!what happened to the grey one??:crying: :crying:
Wow.. what a difference between the biggest and the runt

Aww.. so cute. The lil runt is just adorable. What's gonna happen to him?

The little on was born with his intestines outside his body, I dont know what is going to happen to him as she has just dragged him back to be with the rest of the puppies, so if he is still alive in the morning I will take him to the vet

I just got back from wrapping little ones stomach and Jazmyn just had a 5th puppy, I am guessing the little one wasnt seen on the xray, the 5th puppy is much like the large male near my hand

OMG! Wow!! Is that one OK??
Kayteigh
06-11-2006, 21:26
Yeah she is fine I guess they never picked up the tiny one on the xray but the good thing is that he had a little feed and seems to be picking up so I hope he make it till morning

That's a great sign if he is able to feed. Keep an eye on him though - cos it has to go through his digestive tract. Poor little dude. He's a trooper though, surprised he has lasted this long. Is the newest pup smaller then him?? Cos he is tiny!
Kayteigh
06-11-2006, 21:36
no the new pup is as big as the white one on the end to the right of the black one in the middle

:gloomy: Sadly he just passed away, he fought all night and even had some milk but I guess it wasnt meant to be, now I will concentrate on the 4 puppies she has remaining.

I think it is irresponsible to breed animals without being a licensed breeder.
There are so many lovely puppies and dogs being put down everyday and you are only adding to the problem:gloomy:
I sincerely hope that you get your pet desexed :fingerscrossed:
Good luck with finding homes for the puppies, I hope you will endeavour to ensure that they go to a good home and are desexed by their new owners.

Are you kidding me? Hmmm lets not be so judgemental here. How do you knwo she is irresponsible. To me, someone who has puppies and then cares enough to make a thread on a public forum, post pics and stay up all night fighting for ones little life- doesnt sound too irresponsible to me.
She didn't say she was going to send them to the pound. She said she will find homes for them. Im sure she will check these potential parents out.
Yes, there are too many dogs and cats put down everyday but lets not place all the woes of the animal kingdom on one persons shoulders.
I think your comments and accusations are extremely uncalled for and unfair.
Kayteigh- your puppies and mummy dog are gorgeous- congrats to you.

This is a very disturbing post. How do you know how respoinsible the OP is? we are mourning the loss of a little puppy here. No one asked your opinion on registered and licensed breeders we are merely admiring these pups. If you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all.

Calm down people, I actually think Yasmeena has a valid point. I agree that backyard breeding needs to be stopped. It's sad that the sick little puppy died but how many perfectly healthy dogs are put down every single day due to overcrowded shelters directly caused by backyard breeding?

While everyone is entitled to their own opinions I dont think there was any need for Yasmeena to post what she did. It was a very negative and nasty post. No one likes the thought of dogs being put down in over-crowded shelters but it is NOT fair to blame one person.
If you have nothing nice to say please keep your opinions to yourself.
Back yard breeders usually have their dogs have puppies once a year. This is this persons first litter- i think it may be slighly premature to call her a backyard breeder?

Hi,
calm down everyone, both sides have valid points but I think it was presented a little too bluntly, yes too many dogs are euthanased every year and there are too many backyard breeders but the other side of the coin is that not everyone can afford to buy a purebreed and the most popular breeds at the moment eg ****zu, maltese crosses etc are not purebreeds so cannot be supplied by registered breeders, please just be alittle sensitive when giving opinions, she has just lost a puppy and no matter what you think about her breeding dogs have a little compassion. I hope you find great homes for all your bundles of joy. If you have any questions just email me I am a vet nurse.

I am sorry for those who have been offended by my post and perhaps as kellie said, I was too blunt in stating my opinion however I do think it is irresponsible to own a pet and not have them desexed. In fact I think it should be illegal.
I am not saying she has neglected her animals or been negligent in the care of her dog, and I am sorry if my post was taken in that way.
People who breed their animals, even nice people who find good homes for the puppies are contributing to the problem of over-population. Far from placing the woes of the 'animal kingdom' on one persons shoulders or accusing kayteigh of anything I have simply stated that I think breeding animals is irresponsible. Every person can make a difference and the prevention of backyard breeding is a great start:thumbsup:
The reality is that puppies and dogs are being put down everyday, and I agree it is not nice, but ignoring it and not talking about it because it is 'not nice' is not very nice either.
Lets all show some compassion for the hundreds of dogs and cats that die everyday for no good reason as well as showing compassion for the puppy that died last night due to it's congenital defects.
roopee - anyone who breeds animals and is not a registered breeder is a backyard breeder, no matter how many times they have bred. The definition is not in the numbers it is in the action
I think that this is an important issue and feel very passionate about it. I hope anyone reading this thread will be more aware of how important it is to ensure your pet is desexed.
Once again, sorry to anyone I have offended.:hugs:
i understand you feel very passionately about it but the OP wasnt about the opinions of others on backyard breeders. Start a whole new topic if you want to discus pros and cons against backyard breeders but this one is about these gorgeous little puppies
Oh Kayteigh they are beautiful! So sorry about the little one - maybe it was for the best (hope that doesnt soun insensitive - he would have had to go through a lot of painful surgery etc to make him better - hope he is in doggy heaven!)
Where do you live?
And Yasmeena - as passionate as you are - we are not ignorant people - i myself as have many others on this forum saved both my kittens from a shelter- yours was a post that should really have been started as a new thread and not added here - by all means congratulate her on her puppies arrival but let sleeping dogs lie now please everyone.:D No pun intended!

That's great DJF:thumbsup:
But I would just like to clarify that I wan't assuming anyone is ignorant:no:
sorry bout the puppy kayteigh:crying:
and to the ppl commenting about backyard breeding-
excuse me, but what if your dog gets pregnant without your knowledge??? I mean, who sits with their dog 24 hrs a day to make sure another one doesnt come into the yard and get them pregnant??? my mums dog was tied up when on heat and the dog down the street came and got to her anyway!!! does this make someone a backyard breeder if they dont even know??

Yep, it does. Desexing is an easy way to prevent this from occuring :)

Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful puppies, and so sorry the little one didn't make it - it just wasn't his time.
Thank you for sharing your pics and news with us, what an exciting time it must be at your house!
What a pity such a nice thread has been overshadowed by grandstanding...

It brings back memories of when my 2 were pups. So adorable.

Congratulations on your 4 healthy puppies. I hope that little Squidley is having fun playing in doggy heaven.:hugs: For you and your family. I spent hours crying when my dog had a litter of 6 live puppies and one still born. She just looked so perfect but didn't take that essential first breath. :crying:
They are just gorgeous little pups. I look forward to seeing more pics as the pups grow.
To those of you getting up on soapboxes, please go do it in your own thread. Whether you intended to offend anyone or not is simply not the issue.
Breeding of purebred dogs by registered breeders only may a good way to lower the number of muttley dogs in shelters into the future. However, these beautiful puppies are not your average muttley but come under the category of new 'designer' dogs. They serve a very important purpose for people who require the low allergy levels of a poodle but like the characteristics of a maltese.
Don't jump to assumptions when you don't know the story. For all you know Katie may have chosen to breed her dogs due to requests for their pups. Which is very responsible breeding. Whatever the case I'm sure that Katie will have no trouble finding fantastic buyers for these gorgeous puppies. She certainly shouldn't be accused of contributing to the very sad plight of shelter dogs.
