My hubby left this morning for a 5wk training exercise (navy) and I've noticed that EVERYTIME he goes away, without fail, be it for 6 days, 6 weeks or 6 months, he ALWAYS takes out the rubbish before he goes. When we moved in together he always said that as the man of the house, it was his job to take out the rubbish. He always has and on the morning of the day he leaves for his deployments or exercises, regardless of whether the bin is full or just has a few things in it, he will ALWAYS empty it for me... What a sweetie!
What does your partner do before he goes away?

 WOW... oh, I'm not an Armed Forces wife either, but I just had to say you are SOOO lucky!! Every morning I have to take out the rubbish while trying to stop my toddler running out after me (no front fence) or locking me out when he does stay inside. :banghead: When I do ask DH to take the rubbish with him on his way to the car he gets in a huff, rolls his eyes... that sort of carry-on
You're a lucky chickadee and what a gorgeous, thoughtful DH you have! :D
You are very lucky, Ally. I have enough trouble getting DF to take the rubbish out when he is home.
DF doesnt really do anything before he leaves... He's usually too busy running around packing because he leaves it to the last minute. I'm usually stressed too because I've been telling him for days to get organised!

Wow - I guess I've kind of taken it for granted up til now... Surely your men must do something before they go away? Mow the lawn? Call their mother?
