I am 35ish weeks pregnant and am low in iron (have been taking usual preg suppliments and an iron as well). I have had nettle tea recommended to me as a great sorce of iron, but have also noted that there is Vit A in it aswell.
Should it be ok to take in pregnancy or maybe steer clear. I really want to up my iron intakes as I am soooo low in energy and dont want probs after bubs is born.

I don't know about Nettle tea, but Raspberry leaf tea is also high in iron and is ok to drink while pg (I do so from 26 weeks).

I have had been taking Raspberry Leaf tea, but have not heard that it contains iron, its more of a uterus tonic in order to tone it up for birth and getting it back to pre-preg state.

As well as toning the uterus etc, it does contain lots of vitamins and minerals.
"Provide a rich source of iron, calcium, manganese and magnesium. The magnesium content is especially helpful in strengthening the uterine muscles. Raspberry leaf also contains vitamins B1, B3 and E which are valuable in pregnancy."

I'd check with your GP/Midwife/OB to make certain that it's ok for you to drink nettle tea just to be sure...
A friend of mine has drunk it through each of her pregnancies and raves about it. Her motto is 1 cup per day in the first trimester, 2 in the second and 3 in the third. Lotsa tea to be drinking, but it doesn't seem to do her any harm.
I drink it when I'm pms-ing and retaining water, which seems to help make me feel a little less water-logged.
