Firstly, I just want to congratulate all the October mums who have given birth - sorry, I haven't had a chance to congratulate you all individually, but I hope it's known that I wish you all the best with your bundles of joy! Babies really are the most precious things.

Just to update you on Ryley - we had him home for a couple of weeks and all was great. He is a little cutie, with the most captivating smile (ok, I know it's wind!).

Unfortunately he had a setback last week and spent another week in hospital, and subsequently lost a lot of weight as well (which he could ill-afford to lose). He is home again now, and I am trying to fatten him up. He has now been found to be lactose intolerant so is on a lactose free formula (I have had to give up on the breastfeeding thing). They also think he had gastro - which for most babies isn't such a bad thing but for Ryley means a hospital stay (so we now have to be careful where we take him and who he comes into contact with).

He is due for more surgery early in the new year (at least 2 more operations at this stage). These things test us, but also teach me not to take anything for granted.

Hope you are all doing well with your own additions to your families...

Hi Krisitin,

Poor little Ryley. He's a real little trooper by the sounds of it. I hope he's over the worst of it now.

Take care of yourself and little Ryley.

Hi Kristin

So sorry to hear poor little Ryley has been unwell again. I really hope he's feeling a bit better now. Hope you and DH are doing ok too - it all must be pretty hard on you both.

Ryley looks like such a little cutie & is a very brave little boy.

Make sure you keep letting us all know how he's doing.

Thinking of you.
