View Full Version : Sydney November meet the 2nd one!
OK now not sure what people think about having another meet this month as there is an Adults only one and then we have the Christmas meet. But if people want to meet up in-between now and the Christmas one I am up for it! I don't go to the AO as I can't leave Eliza yet!
Few things I was thinking about not everyone has babies quite a few have older children and observing you guys on Thursday made me wonder if it would be better to have the meet somewhere with less water!! So the kids can run feral on a playground and we don't have to worry about them falling in the water or getting soaked!
Remember people come from lots of different areas and parking and so on can get pricey I was thinking Homebush it has really nice parks and playgrounds.....But I have no idea if public transport is close by:o

Id probably be up for it but depending on the time i spose... I know lots of the girls come far away to go to Darling Harbour but i will have to be back by 3 to pick up T from school. im just wondering how long the train would take from central :confused: cause i aint drivin that far :D

Homebush means about the same travel for most of us, and is just as easy to get to via public transport! AND is wayyyy more sensible an option than a cafe next to really really deep water and a big water feature!!

hi girls i am going to try my hardest to make this one i think maybe centenial park or some park in the city would be good theres a lot of nice parks around near me but i think it might be a little far for everyone but where ever is good for everyone really

OK so we'll do a weekday yeah? I think so now what date would people like? I am thinking perhaps Thursday the 16 or Thursday the 23rd what do people think? And I'll have a look at a homebush map to see where the nice areas are for children and then we'll do the final meet in a PM hmmm kay :D

I will say I am a 50/50 for the day. Don't know if I'll feel like going yet....??? It's a long day and with work, etc-aka shonky uterus:rolleyes: it can turn into a VERY long day.

Oh yeah, I only realised my birthday is the 16th too so I probably wont be able to make it on the 16th but not too fussed either way.
Yeah, he is pretty excited!
We are going to go to Hogs Breath, its his favourite restaurant, not sure what sort of cake I should do for him yet (well actually what sort of cake I will ask my bestie to do for him, she is the cake making queen :D )
Im up for homebush! and the 23rd sounds fine thus far, but knowing my life, I cant be completely sure until like the day before!
But I'm a tentative yes.:D

Me and Harry we are in for the 23rd.. Masonsmum u have to come.. It was my first time last thursday and i had a really Great time!!! There was lots of mummies there, i didnt get to meet them all so i am excited about becoming more of a social buttifly next meet :fingerscrossed:
whoo ohhh 23rd I'll have to mark it down now as my mind is like a sieve :rolleyes: I am excited already lol we can bring food perhaps have a lil picnic :D

We're in! looking forward to Abigail and Eliza getting some more cuddle time lol and hopefully not fighting over toys ! so thankful that didnt turn into tantrum city. Homebush is about 10 mins from my house which makes it brilliant! the train station is sydney olympic park. its a pretty big station. Otherwise if you want to trek a bit further out there is parramatta park! its closeish to public transport and lots of parking if you want to drive. has play equipment and lots of grass and shade plus a cafe....should stop trying to push parra park now lol i like the homebush idea. Someone just remind me closer to time.....

I have my very last assessment for the year between 9-11 so if after I am in.

Like Lunch time then I can just come a little late.
I was thinking around 11ish anyway so we'll be there mummycat :D tend to make a day of it now anyway!
Im not sure if we can make homebush .. have to see about transport. .
Although there is a train the station isnt exactly close to the park itself .. its still about a 1.5 k walk . .or another bus . .so for me thats bus -train-train-bus to get there and with a pram that isnt always too easy. .
yeah homebush is a far drive for me too but if thats where it is ill do my best to make it really want to meet everyone too. city would be great but either way. im ok. kristi001 i will do my best to make it. i really want to

Are you guys thinking of Bicentennial Park at homebush or the Olympic area?
Concord West Station is close by, but doesn't have a lift.
Homebush was just a suggestion BTW if anyone has other ideas that deem to be without water features and plenty of room and a playground then suggest away!!! Tinystar I am not sure as I don't know the area well enough I just know it has playgrounds!

Anywhere is fine, as long as there is somewhere I can sit down in the shade. On a chair. And get something to eat.

lol BB PMSL I am a bit od a parramatta park advocate!! it's maybe a 10 min walk from the station? I have no idea really as i have always driven there. Can anyone else help out??
i really would love to come but parramata is about 1hr away and homebush just under that city works well but i totally understand if its not convinenient for others i thought maybe around the northern beaches its very beautiful there and lots of parks but i know its far for some ppl like parramatta is far for me ahhh so confused ahhahah help!!! lol
im good for whereever we go as i wil just drive but it needs to be very close to public transport for the non driving mummies

Homebush is probably better for both parking & transport. JMO. Either way we should be able to make it (by car for a change :smiliedance: ). Shed & I have business to conduct :laughing:

Errmmm Beany I am hoping it's closeish I am going to have to do a google search for a map of homebush although Krissey said it's a 1.5 km walk so not far like 15 mins
I did a search on www.131500.info or something like that which gives you the transport info.
You would need to get a train to lidcombe and then change trains for a train that heads to Olympic Park. They do a loop from lidcombe station and then back again. And then its a 1.23km walk or similar from the station. Im happy to meet people at the station if need be . .I know kristi is training it as well and anyone else is welcome. . the platform at lidcombe is called the olympic sprint platform .. so we could meet there if you like??

Its a fair walk from the station ive done it plenty of times so will be interesting with Boof ! Well not the going there part but the im cranky & overtired because i havent slept all day part lol !

Im hoping to drag DH along this time for the specific purpose of supervising and entertaining our children whilst I lounge about, socialise and cluck over all the luffly babies :D
I just found this thread and am so disappointed that It's not next week anymore! Doh! I can't make the 23rd. I'll be sunning myself in Noosa.
And I cant make the Christmas party (DD's b'day), or the AO night (Noosa). So I'll probably see you all next year. :gloomy:

Well this is only my second meet and the first one i was so nervous, i met another buhubber (Jate1985) who is so lovely i might add, at the station and we came in together!!! i found it much less daunting!! So if any noobies are catching the train and want one some company let us know and we will all train it together!! :)

YAY - I'm coming! :party: I've pushed my flights to VIC back by about 2 weeks so now I can come to both the Nov AO meet AND this meet. But, I miss out on the Christmas party... Ahhh well...
It also means that I'll be in VIC when my hubby's ship pulls into Melbourne - how exciting will that be!

I think we should just all meet near the big cafe there. There is only one in the entire park so you can't miss it and its only a minute walk from the playgroup. Easier for people to find and then we can wander off?

I'm still leaning towards yes, but it really depends on the heat. Meeting at the Cafe is a good idea, to me anyway. Ben is too small for the playground, and I don't recall seeing any shade there, but we were at the cafe when I looked so I might have missed it. I guess there is no way we could meet up on the 23rd, is there ... it's a bit too close to Christmas - it's just that I have to pick my sister and her kids up from the airport at 5:30pm, so I could make a day trip out of it. Dh is actually going to come up with the kids and I, so I guess we will have fun anyway.
Im fine with weekend or weekday as well, but being close to xmas, a weekday might mean more of us can get there, I was noticing to many people could not make it to the luna park thingo because they had other things to do on the weekend.
