Hi Ladies,

i have been advised that im developing pre eclampsia, im currently 33+ 4, this is all really new to me and have a million questions.
I have had to stop work earlier than expected incase by blood pressure increases, doctors cant give me much info either,
at this stage my blood pressure varys from 130/80- 135/90 and my fingers, feet and face are swallon.

Docs cant estimate when i will be induced.
Im so scared of needles, everytime i get a blood test i cry!

Can anyone provide any info for me?

will be baby be really small? do i have to buy premmie clothes?
how long are they in hosp before bringing them home?
does c-section hurt? can you feel them cut into you?

arrgghh im getting really scared!

Big hugs to you, PE is a nasty thing so now that you have been diagnosed you will be monitored very closely. If you start to get weird visual things (I had shooting stars before my eyes) or pain around the liver, bad headaches ring your doctor straight away. I don't mean to alarm you but it is good to know the symptoms.

Rest is good for helping PE and probably the reason the doctor doesn't know when you will be induced is that they will just monitor you and your baby. You may give birth early if the PE get worse but they do this in the interests of your health and the baby's health.

I had a c-section at 35 weeks with my son, he was small 2040 g and was only in special care for fews days mainly just for observation then we roomed in for a few days and we haven't looked back since. My son is 7 now and absolutely fine no ill effects from the PE.

I had a c-section as my PE was getting worse quickly and it was a pretty good experience not a scarey as I thought. I felt no pain during surgery and I was up and about the next day, bit sore but had a fast recovery. I wouldn't buy premmie clothes just a few 0000s.

Hope that helps and you can pm me if you want to chat:)

i have had PIH or pre eclamsia and its happening again. 30 wk mark as usual. Sore my dr today and i need to look at having my bub early aswell but dont know when due to the bp affecting the condions of which the bub is in. C section i had with my second and personally i thought it was better than a VB so i have elected to have a c section again

I had PE with my DS#1. My BP steadily rose from about 32 weeks and at 39 weeks was on the 'too high' side of things. I was induced and although I had to have an epidural to get my BP down I still had a VB.
PE doesn't necassarily= a C-sect but I'm sure your Dr will go into this with you. I never even considered a CS and it was never mentioned either. I had never met anyone who had one so assumed they were rare.
You do have to rest though-it is the only way to manage PE, if it is manageable at all. I used to put out one load of washing and would come back in with swollen feet and hands-not an ankle bone in sight!
If it's any consolation my BP spiked at about 165/110 during labour and it was about then I was told an epidural would be a good idea-considering I was also seeing floating bits everywhere I looked!

Thanks ladies in replying back to me!! great advice!
doc said that my bp has stabilised for now, but being monitored once a week.

Did anyone have a ultrasoujnd around the 34-37 week mark to see if baby is ok?:p

I developed Pre Eclampsia and delievered at 34+5 weeks via c/sec... if you ever wanna chat feel free to pm me.

I had an ultrasound two days before I ended up having an emergency c/sec, bubs was fine, they just wanted to check his growth, size, position etc.

All you need to concentrate on now is RESTING! I sure wish I had before I knew I had Pre E.

Take care of yourself and it will all be fine :)
