Hi everyone I'm a newby here and I'm looking for some advice and maybe even a little hope.

It took me 15 mths to get pregnant when I was trying to conceive my 1st child Angus who is now 19mths old and after a visit to a fertility specialist and testing through my gp I was found to have PCOS it was just before I was about to go in for my explorative surgery that our miricle happened and I got pg naturally with our son.Don't get me wrong if it was never to happen again I would still feel blessed to be a mum as I know some never experience it or find it more difficult than I did but I can't help but feel guilty that it would be my fault that Angus didn't grow up with the same sibling experiences that my dh and I have had.

Now we want to start ttc a sibling and I am worried that it will take us even longer if ever to concieve again. we were meant to start trying in June however after many panic attacks and stressful times I have been putting it of until december but that is fast approching and I'm starting to stress about it never happening again for me.

so I guess what I would like to know is how long id it take you the second time ? and what did you do to relieve some of your stress after finding it difficult the first time for the second time round?

Also any suggestions on what I could do to help me conceive would be great I think I heard them all the first time round but I'm open to any suggestion :)

Thanks

 hello and welcome,
You will find theres alot of us in Bubhub TTc #1 or #2 with pcos, like myself ive been ttc our 2end for 2 months ( but havent used anything to stop it in 7 months) and we are still trying, this website has so much help from it, when i 1st started a few girls told me to start doing my temps to see id and when i O, and so far its helped me to work out a few things about my body witch is good! so maybe you could start with temping to see when you O if you dont already know when you do oh and theres a PCOS chat here aswell where you will find all us us ttc with it, you might find it helpfull to se in there and look around.

Hello!

As sexy_minx said there are many of us here with PCOS so you shouldnt feel alone. Some are trying for #1 (like me) and others are trying for their 2nd or 3rd.

I think the most important thing (if you have not done already) is for you to verify if you Ovulate (O) every cycle (if you have cycles) and when in your cycle you O.
Many with PCOS dont O at all (like me) or some O only occasionally. Of course there are others that O fairly regularly, there are just so many scenarios. And remember you can still bleed and also have a fairly regular cycle and not O.
A good way to do this is to chart your Basal Body Temperature (BBT) with Fertility Friend (or manually on a written chart). This will show if you have indeed Ovulated in a cycle. If you dont O by yourself or do only occasionally then there are treatments to help you O such as the drug Clomid, which is generally the first type of treatment given, its relatively inexpensive to.

Good Luck! :fingerscrossed:

Thanks for the encouragement I temped last time while ttc and found it stressed me out ! I will start temping if we don't fall pg in the first 6 mths as I know I O well at least last time I did as I was going in for blood work every 3 days till I O'd! I felt like a pin cushion LOL

I guess it is just nice to know there are others out there like me:)

Hi,
I dont have pcos but did have a lot of trouble ttc as I dont ovulate every month. I was put on clomid and tried some ovulation induction and ivf(for other reasons) I am now thinking of ttc #2 and my specialist advised me to track my cycles with ovulation tests. Then if I dont fall pregnant or ovulate within 3 months I will go back and get another prescription for clomid. I was also recommended that if your period is regular -say 30 days for example, count back 14 days from the first day of your period. This would take you to day 16, which is when you should probably ovulate- Then start ttc at least 2 days before this- day 14 and keep ttc every second day until you get your period or not:smiliedance: . Hope this helps:thumbsup:

hey ya :)

i also have pcos and had trouble concieving my son (whos just turned 1) we spent 2 years ttc him and got preg naturally. We have used any protection since he was born, but have only seriously been trying since i got my first af after having him in january this year.

Some people find that everything 'fixes' itself after having a baby and they get preg striaght away second time round, others - like me, dont.

there is a thread on here for us ladies ttc #2 and it has been an awesome support for me (as has every other thread on here :D) and its great to know im not going thru this alone!
