As sone of you may know from other threads, poor DS is sick. As he is still not better, the doctor suspects lactose intolerance and I need to feed DS lactose free formula for 2 days.

After freaking out about the price (outrageous!), can someone please tell me how to best start feeding formula. Should I use a bottle or sippy cup? Which ones? How do I get the water right? How do I get my baby to forgive me for not giving him the breast for a while? How do I get him to sleep?

Please remember, my bub has had breast on tap only for 9 months now and this is very new and scary for both of us.

I'd try the sippy cup first. You can just make the formula up in a measuring jug (back of tin has scoops per mls).

Maybe get your DH to offer him the formula (be OUT of the room - cos he'll want you if he sees you:p )

If he won't take it at all, try a mix of formula and BM.

I hope this helps

Thanks misskitty - I think if I see him drinking the formula I'll end up all teary anyway, even though this is only temporary. I'll get my partner to be the bad guy.
