Internal ultrasounds

Just wandering if anyone has had a internal ultrasound before as i am having one done tomorrow. Do they hurt and what do they do? thanks!!

I've had one when bubs was in a strange position and they couldn't get proper measurements using the normal ultrasound wand... They don't hurt... It's more of an uncomfortable feeling really...

It is like a long wand and they actually put a condom over the top to ease it in and yeah they do their little sonographic stuff that they need to do and then it's over...

Nothing to worry about! :)

I've had a few done, what they do is sorry if this is TMI lol but the scanner part is kinda like a huge dildo lol, and it gets inserted up your you know what , it doesn't hurt at all, you'll barely notice it, it just looks weird lol

Hey there,
I had one a few weeks ago to check for PCOS
they dont hurt just a little uncomfortable.
Its a big wand thingy that looks like a dildo but yeah lol.
The lady i had just put lube on it and it was over within 10 min.

I've had 3 all up & no, they don't hurt at all. A little embarassing perhaps, but that's it!

I agree.. a little embarassing .. lol ..

I felt like I should be wearing stillettos- with the pool guy and cameras should be rolling.. rofl!!

it is a little invasive .. but .. if you are calm it should all be ok .. (I've had a few .. due to ovary issues) - it doesn't take long .. and bladder wise it is MUCH more comfortable than the traditional ultrasound ..

I don't have a problem with them, i have them every second day around ovulation time and i've never found them painful. You'll be fine! :)

hrm well out of the norm here I've had 5 now and each one hurt, quite a lot actually :S Two of them had me in tears and they had to stop without finishing. The other three hurt a lot but i could handle.. just

not to mention feeling uncomfortable and embarressed! I hate them!

I had one at 10 weeks and then a "normal" one yesterday for the NT scan. I think the internal was much more comfortable!

I've only had one, but it was only uncomfortable for me. No pain at all. Actually a huge relief because I got to go to the toilet! lol
