hey sweetie! I'm Amanda. I'm 22 and I have a little boy - Jett - who is 13 months old. I live in College Grove in Bunbury. As for rentals I'd say www.justpropertymanagement.com.au (http://www.justpropertymanagement.com.au) is one of the best, though we are renting through Teede Realty while our new house is built (sold the old one first.. whoops! lol) and we pay $250pw for a new 3 x 2 but it is really nice so you should be able to get something fairly good! It's entirely up to you but I used to live out of town (Australind) and I found it way too far driving in and out every day for swimming lessons and astro gym and that kind of thing.. its a 15-20 minute drive each way so can get a little tiring after a while, but you will find there are a lot of rentals out that way! A few of the mums from this site have met up for coffee but we havent yet arranged for another meet, but if you wanna pm me we can catch up for a coffee any time, I am free most days, just work thursday nights and saturdays. Argh my little monster is destroying my house so i better go but we'll chat soon ok! :yelclap:
Amanda
BTW - Love the name Chase.. thats what I'm calling my next baby!! Jetts bed actually has "Chase Racing" on it, its a fibreglass car bed and the previous owners name was Chase!

Hi Bec!
Sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake with this thread ... :D.
Anyway, I'm in Bunbury and have a 6 month old - so would definately love to catch up/chat!
We are at some stage going to organise another meet up with the local mum's so you're more than welcome to come along - just keep an eye on the South West threads!
How have you gone with the househunting? Hope you've found somewhere.
Speak soon
Tam

Hi
I live in Australind, just outside Bunbury. If you're looking for rentals avoid Roy Weston, we had a nightmare with them (very long story...!) and their rentals are never as clean as they should be (some friends also rented through them and had same problems)
Amanda: where abouts in College Grove do you live? We were at Darwin Way for a few months ut I hated living there...... mind you, the house was a bit grotty so didnt help matters!!! Where are you building? We're building at Treendale, which is also where we are renting (been here since March)

we're on sommerville drive, but we have a nice house, its new, and clean.. i think thats why i hated the one in australind.. didnt matter how much i cleaned it, it just never felt clean! this one is nice because its new and low maintenance! we're building in glen iris, we had a block in treendale but i sold it because i didnt want to live out of town, i felt like all i did all day was drive in and out lol so we bought one in glen iris which is a bit more central for us, and we've just sold our one in capel so hopefully we wont be too far away.. i really like where i am now though so it doesnt really bother me too much! we've been buying / building & selling land and houses for so long now and I am so over it I just dont want to do it anymore. Its exhausting and i just wanna settle in one place! The new house is a bit extravagent for the 3 of us, but i figure you only live once so you may aswell live in a nice house! hows your house coming along? who are you building through? Treendale is a really nice suburb, i wish it was in town! but then again if it was in town maybe it wouldnt be as nice as it is. we almost bought a block across from the lake with the fountain in it on aquamarine drive... im so kicking myself we didnt now - would of been worth a fortune!! at the time we were a bit worried about having a little baby and living across from a lake - but it turns out jett is a great swimmer lol you would think if you have to have a swimming pool fenced in your backyard, the suburbs with lakes in them would have to fence them?

hi girls,
it was great to hear from all of you...now i dont feel like i am coming to a place where i know no one!
we got the house we applied for its in carey park (i know carey park, but its the nice end and my street comes off my sisters) so we will move down next weekend i think...i suggest then it would be great to have a little meet up that week cause i will be feeling a little sad and need some cheering up i think!
does that sound ok? then you guys can fill me in on bunbury and your lives, and our kiddies can play together. (or cry which is more what chase does).
anyways let me know i may not have internet when we get down so i might get you to pm or emailme mobile numbers so i can contact you.

Hi
Im Mel and I have 2 little boys - Orion is 3 and Saxon is 7 months.
I love the name Chase...it's actually Saxon's middle name!! i wasn't allowed to have it as a first name so middle had to do hehe.
We live in Capel but I am in Bunbury every second day. We only moved here from Bunbury in the beginning of october.
I hope the move goes well for ya!
Also a meet up would be great....it's been ages since the last one!!!

Carey Park certainly doesn't have the reputation it used to several years ago - it's probably one of the booming suburbs ATM.

hows your house coming along? who are you building through?
Well, the tiler has finished so just waiting on the plumber, electrician and painter.
We used to live in the country in the UK (had fields behind us!) so Treendale feels a bit built up to us but I didnt want to be right out in the sticks as working from home I'd be too lonely! Plus they are putting schools and shops in so I'd like to be able to walk Bod to school rather than do the school run.
When will you be starting building on your plot?

oh thats great to hear! yeah i think its hard with everyone building so close together but i think its something we all have to get used to because the blocks are only getting smaller! we're just finalising some changes on our plans and we'll be good to go! i agree with you about the school run lol we're in walking distance too!

hi girls,
well we are all moved into our house in carey park - absolute nightmare it was left filthy, and heaps of stuff broken (or breaking every day!) so far i have had to make them send cleaners in to sort out the huge amounts of mould on the windows and the oven covered in grease and fat, a contactor has come to fix the front balistrate that was falling off, and needsto come in to fix the taps and drain in the laundry, and if my sister and step mother hadnt been there to clean all the dust and mould and grot before i got there sat i wouldnt have been able to move in!!! surprisely enough, this is through just property management who are meant to be good at this sort of thing - they definately arent!!!
but nearly all fixed now, chase loves his new room and cot, is sleeping heaps better now and seems alot happier. i have been trying to find him a mothers group and some little friends but havent really found one yet!!! but he is having fun chiling out with mummy.
anyways cant wait to meet you all, i dont have internet yet in bunbury but will try to check later this week so pm me your details if you want and i will contact you...
