Hi there ....

Just wondering if any of you knowledgable ladies know anything about how to stop dogs getting car sick?

My 1 yr old cattle dog (who ever heard of a cattle dog of all breeds to get sick while in a ute  ...they were born to ride there! LOL) gets car sick in the back of the ute - and yes, that's the only option as he's so huge (28kgs).

Is there anything i can give him to stop him getting sick? I've tried not feeding him the night before, but he still brings up water and has that awful slimy slobber coming out the whole way (most of the time its 3 hours to mums place.....i'm sure everyone thinks there's something wrong with him ).

Any ideas? I thought i'd read somewhere about being able to give them human car sick tablets...and i know ginger helps...but how much?

We used to have a german shepard that got sooooo sick in the car..... the vet can give you some tablets for it, but that is if you are planning a trip it would be worth it!

It was a while ago, sorry couldn't be more helpful!

Thanks Anne-Marie, i might give the vet a go...see what they can give me.

One time he puked up on our bags and everything while we were travelling...don't particularly want that again! I had to throw the bags out and wash ALL the clothes we'd packed.....

Just try your local vet ;)

Our heeler wont vomit on the back of the ute.. he waits til we have stopped then jumps out and :barf: So at least he has that part figured out
