View Full Version : Due mid Nov?
Hi,
I am due 20th Nov, 1st baby. I am very surprised at how easy being pregnant has been so far, i imagined horrible morning sickness, body aches, mood swings ( although I've had a few of those). But I have had nothing to complain about. I wondered if anybody else feels the same way I do about hearing of others scary birth stories? All I have heard from others is ALL the bad and not much good about giving birth. Maybe they are trying to prepare me but seroiusly... is it really that bad? The more I hear the more scared I become. :( . So please if anyone can give me a little good news about their labour I would really love to hear about it :)
Thanks
Sim

Hi Sim
I had a pregnancy that sounds very similar to yours - apart from a bit of tiredness I really didn't have one thing to complain about physically.
I also had the most amazing birth experience. I look back on the day I had DD as one of the most amazing of my life. I had Emily in water with no pain relief. I believed I could do it - and I did! As I have said before in other posts, it was one of the biggest achievements of my life.
Like you, I also heard all the horror stories, but I can assure you my experience was anything but! I can't wait to do it again.
Good luck :)

Hi, congratulations on your easy pregnancy!I've been extremely lucky with all 3 pregnancies now and my first 2 labours were extremely easy! Ha ha fingers crossed the same with 3rd!
All I can tell you is every labour is different for every person, and yes EVERY person you speak to will tell you a horror story of sorts. I don't even know why they think it's a great time to scare the pants off of someone! I remember being terrified of the thought of labour with my first and then afterwards thinking ' is that it!' Maybe that's why they do it!
Anyway good luck and hopefully you will have a great labour, just remember women have given birth in the middle of fields and gone straight back to work! Not that I recommend that of course!! :p Damn preg brain makes you say weirdest things!
Good luck, lots of best wishes
Hi everyone.
Wow! Soooooo nice to finally read some positive stuff! :p Hooray for you guys!! No seriously...I am becoming quite sick of bad preggie stories. They're driving me nuts!! My best friend also had the same feeling as you, Nara. She was like 'Is that it?' She said hers was just like a really bad period or something.
I have stayed positive throughout this whole thing and really am feeling confident, not scared at all. I keep saying over & over that it's going to be good, quick easy etc and my friends think I'm nuts, but I'm such a believer in self fulfilling prophecy! I think it has helped me stay so physically healthy.
Sim, firstly I have to say that I like your name! We call my brother Sim, (please don't be offended that he's male!!) so I'm quite fond of it. Your baby is due on my birthday!! Heehee! I hope it comes then. A friend once told me that the best she's ever felt in life was when she was pregnant with her 3 girls. I love to here her story. So, I thought I'd tell you. Don't get worried. Personal stories are just that...personal. We are all different. Simple, but true!! ;)
Well, stay positive everyone!
Love,
Nan xx

Hi Sim
Like you I had a very easy first pregnancy, so I prepared myself for a horrible labour - which turned out quite good, I think. This time around I've experienced a few aches and pains and have been pretty tired - I think that's due to chasing a 15 month old around.
What I wasn't prepared for with Bubba 1 was trying to get about for nearly 3 months with haemorroids (sp?) and I had a torn labia (which wasn't sewn back as neatly as it should've been) . I had more problems dealing with this than the labour itself! I just hope that if my labia tears again that I can get it sewn back properly this time :)
Good Luck
Hi everyone,
Thanks for some good news, it has put me to rest hearing some positive feedback :) It is very exciting to hear of everyone having signs of labour as it puts things into reality for me. This is baby #1, and just lately have been having pelvic pain and some weird lower back pain, almost like period pains. Gee.. I really am getting closer to becoming a mum WOW.
Sonlou- Ouch torn labia AND haemorroids. Nice to chat to a local.. I'm in geelong too.
Nan- Sim short for Simon? No offence taken ;) You are absolutly right.. we are all different somehow I hadn't seen it that way.
Hope you are all well
Sim
Hi again!
Sim is short for Simeon actually. It's unusual. It's from the Bible - the old man who blessed the baby Jesus after he was born. My mum liked the story, so she went with it!! Is yours short for anything?
Nan. xx
Hi Nan,
Yeah short for Simone.. but I'm not too keen on it. Names are funny things, very hard to pick one that is different but not too different. Simoen is different but I like it. Although must admit not familiar with the bible :o

Hi Sim
Ouch torn labia AND haemorroids....
This is what I'm freaking out the most about this time!! I can deal with the labour....just!
I only hope the registrar at our local hospital isn't the same one as last time (that's if i tear again) - i would refuse to be sewn up by him
I have 2 weeks to go today, but I'm hoping it'll come early (last bub was 9 days early). But this bub is in an oblique position (head not in birth canal) so all the clinic is saying is to wait and see as it could move once i have a few contractions! I'm getting a bit frustrated as i don't want it to be a last minute emergency c-section.
Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy.
Hi girls.
Sonja, are you rubbing lots of vitamin E oil into your nether regions?!! It really does help as it causes tissue to be more oxygenated and therefore more elastic. Go for it girl!!
Sim, I love the name Simone. It's lovely. Do you have names picked out for bubs. Does everyone?? We have finally settled on a boys and girls name. It took us ages to decide on a girls one!
Love,
Nan. xx

Ooh Nan- what names have you picked? or are you keeping them secret??
Sonlou- OOOOWWWWWW.
Hi there Jodie!Wow not long until you get induced,if you are, only a few days away!
Clairet- A water birth, how excellent! The only way we can have waterbirths here is if we have bubba at home. Ha ha which has crossed my mind, but both boys swallowed meconium, so I don't want to take that chance.
Sim- You poor thing, getting pains already.
Nara, I posted our names in the other thread, but here they are again!! Samuel Benjamin or Eden Claire.
Love,
Nan. xx

Hi Girls
How are you all at this stage of you pg?
Will you let me vent....? I have 5 days until my EDD and its sad to say I'm a bit over it, I like the bump but it just gets in the way! With my last pg my son was 9 days early, so now its like - where are you bubba?, why aren't you here yet? - so every niggly pain I do get I'm hoping its on its way. So sick of going to the toilet - nearly every hour (including at night), also sometimes I need to go within a few minutes of going - does anyone else do this? My DH thinks its quite funny, huh, I think its quite annoying. Also I think I'm going for number 2's when all I need is a great big fart!!! Then there's everything else.....blah blah blah!!!
Its weird but I'm also starting to get a bit scared, its like the unknown, but I've been there before. Pregnancy hormones - I'll put it down to that!
Have a good day :)

VENT away love! ;)
I'm feeling exactly the same!Toilet trips constantly, and yes very windy!! :p
It's so hard now isn't it, every back pain or twinge and your thinking ooh is it starting!AARGH GET OUT OF ME!! ;)
Ha ha sorry mate not really helping but I thought I would let you know that you're not the only one and if you feel like venting, go for it!
Good luck
Hi girls,
Sonja, you go for it!! We can handle it! I must admit, I'm not feeling 'over it' as some of you are, but I am doing the frequent wee and wind thing, too!! ;)
Love,
Nan. xx
