Hi there to all the mums due in early November as well. I hit 40 weeks on Friday the 4th of November, and as this is my third baby it's a debate as to wether I'll go early this time (DD was born on the day, DS was 6 days overdue). Baby is quite big due to gestational diabetes, I'm not looking forward to pushing out a 9 pounder (DD was 8p 6oz)!
The nursery is all set up, I spent last weekend washing and folding all the teensy baby clothes, blankets and nappies. I get a little thrill everytime I walk in, it all looks so wonderful and it's nice not to have it all shoved up in the cupboard. The pram has been assembled, the bassinett is put together, the lambskins have been washed in eucalyptus wool wash and I have a new lampshade for the touch lamp. Shopping today I bought more wipes, maternity pads and some big Telfresh containers to freeze more meals. The car is booked in for a service tomorrow, and at the RAC next week to have the carseat fitted (I've just left it all in the box, with 2 kids around they're BOUND to lose some vital bit to it if I try to take it out!).
I did my belly cast yesterday, it looks FANTASTIC!! I'm so glad it turned out, I now have something I can put on my wall to remind me of how beautiful I look and feel right now. I love being pregnant, and after all this time I finally have a perfect bowling ball belly so I've preserved it for all time.
I'm feeling quite well in myself. My back is pretty sore so I've booked in for a massage (how decadent!), and occaisionally I get a 'knitting needle in the cervix' feeling when I walk, not pleasant! Baby is still very active, and I think his awake times will be 9-10am, 1-2pm, 6-7pm and 10-11pm judging on when he 'goes for a jog' at the moment. He's pretty consistant with his times!
Anyway, sorry for the long rant, I hope you are all well and enjoying the last phase of your old life and are eagerly anticipating the beginning of the new! :D

Hi there. It's great you have your nursery set up! It makes it alot more exciting doesn't it. I have been frantically washing and disinfecting everything. Ha ha go the nesting period!! My hubby thought it was great at first but he's now getting irky because as soon as he takes off his shirt it's in the wash and he can't find it!Poor bugger gets home from work (after a 12 and a half hour shift)and I have a too high or too heavy job for him to do!Which of course simply CANNOT wait for his days off!
Today I was in a mad panic to clean out the car because of course that's the first place bubs will be! Now I even think I sound insane ha ha.

It's great your belly cast turned out well! I still haven't even taken a photo, oops!

We actually just freaked out a bit, our bub's has been breech and we find out tomorrow whether they book me in for a cs or not.(depending on if she has turned, which I really think she hasn't :( )But what scared us was that here it is the norm to be booked in 2 weeks early for a cs so that you don't go into labour on you own. And that is 12 days away!! So either way (cs or nb) it's not long now!!

Anyway enough of my rambling! Good luck and all of my best wishes,

Do you have to have a ceasar Nara?

Well, I had a show this morning, bit excited, but I'm not running around in a mad panic just yet. I'm going to take DS to toddler gym, my sister is coming along to help and then I'm going to try and lie down and have an afternoon sleep, just incase I'm up all night!
I've got really low period pain, and there's one little spot that is SO painful! Sitting on the birth ball at the moment trying to stay relaxed and calm, might try a bath later. Might have a Libran after all!

Hope all goes well for you Pregasaurus and its good your sister is comming down to help and will have someone else there with you

It looks like I might have to have a caesar also cause the babys breech as well - not too keen on trying an ECV to turn her after reading up on a few of the risks etc.. Ill find out tomorrow when I see my Ob.

Hi,

I am due on the 8th November. Good Luck to you Pregasaurus, I am hoping this is the real thing. I have been getting period pain on and off for a few weeks now but I think they are only BH because I only get them a couple times a day.

Sorry to hear that you babies are breech and you have to have a C/S, maybe they might turn late for you. My baby at the moment is in the right position but usually when I have my babies they turn posterior during labour and the second stage is usually the hardest. So I might need to have intervention as well. I have been told to keep a count of the movements my baby makes because I am thinking my doctor might induce me early due to having large babies and the position my babies get into.

Hi all, hope everyone is going well. Well I went to the midwives clinic today and bub's has turned so no caesar for me thank god! Not that it really worried me but I had such easy vb's with the boys, so I wasn't really looking forward to having a caesarian. So looks like I have to wait a bit longer to meet our bub!

Wow pregasaurus you've had a show! Hope everything is fine! How long after a show can it be until labour starts? I was just reading they can start within 24 hrs but sometimes longer..... This might sound strange since this is my 3rd pregnancy but I think I may have had a show this morning. I asked the midwife but she said she couldn't be sure without an internal, so I figured I would just wait and see.

Anyway best get going, lol we're watching a Star Wars movie!!

Love and best wishes all

Hey Nara, good news about the ceasar!

You can have a show and not go into labour for a few weeks yet, that's why it didn't phase me at all. Had another (lighter one) on tuesday morning, and then another small one this morning. Midwife is coming later to check if my waters have broken. I've had a VERY slow leak all day. Put on a pad and it has THAT smell (the stuff that puts the baby in there in the first place is what it smells like when it comes out for anyone who hasn't had the joy of smelling it!) but I'm not sure the quantity is enough. Still not phased. Hoping you are all well and the heat is not getting too much for some (I must be heavily pregnant. I'm sitting here in the most hideous spotted floral dress known to all mankind, but it's the only summer thing I own!).

Hi,

I am glad to hear that you don't have to have a c/s Nara. You might have to wait a little bit longer but I rather be waiting than undergoing the knife. Also you can have a show and still have to wait a couple of weeks to go into labour.

Pregasaurus, Hoping all these symptoms means that you are in early labour and it does not take long to have your baby in your arms. Best wishes anyway.

I have just under three weeks left before my little one arrives. My obs. wants to do an internal at the 39 week to see if I am ready to have the baby. If so I might be having the baby a week earlier.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all feeling well in your final few weeks/days and that it isn't getting too hot where you are. We've had a few warm days here and I realised I have absolutely no decent summer maternity clothes!!
Went to the loo Monday afternoon 1pm and all was well, but when I went again at 3pm there was bright red blood, which when you're on blood thinning drugs is not good. So, it was back to hospital again for 24 hours observation, and at 6pm I started 3 minutely contractions that lasted for 2 hours! I even had a consultant standing there saying "yep, you're in labour alright". I'm glad not even the experts can tell when I'm in labour and it's just a 'practise', I don't feel like such a clueless moron now!
I'm going to try the castor oil trick tomorrow, as my birthday's on the 3rd of Nov I'd like bubby to be born at least a few days before or after. I FINALLY got the carseat fitted today, I patted my bump and said 'you can come out now, I have something to bring you home in!!'
Hips are a bit sore, but other than that I feel fantastic physically. I hope you all do as well, and good luck to you all in the coming weeks. :)

Heheehee! It IS a bit strange that even the specialists can get it wrong sometimes. Good luck to you. I do hope all goes well.

Ha ha this is going to sound horrible, but I do feel better that I'm not the only one!

I have gone through not 1 but 2 "false" labours now and was starting to think I was a freak! They seem so real, don't they! It must be 3rd child syndrome or something :p !
My poor MIL is now freaking out that I won't ring her next time! She came in both times (nearly an hour's drive) and I felt so guilty! But as she said it's better to be safe than sorry. Ha ha I have images of ignoring the next one and having a head pop out in the bathroom or something  !

Did you have anything like this with previous pregnancies? I certainly didn't, it was very straightforward with the first 2.

I hope the bleeding was nothing to worry about? And I am glad that you are feeling so well.

Best wishes

yes, I do tend to get a lot of regular tightenings. I keep reading the books, and they say "braxton Hicks are not painful" and I think, 'these are painful'. The book says "braxton Hicks are not regular" so I time them and they're coming every 5 minutes for an hour so I must be in labour! Every time I have a 'session' of BH, everyone asks me 'is this it?' and I just automatically say no now. I'd feel better being wrong about not being in labour than I feel about really being in labour. :D

That's exactly how I feel, mine were very painful and very regular.Ha ha this is going to sound sooky but if these are "false" labours, I don't want to go through the real thing again!I couldn't even walk through the last lot, they were that intense! I'm just hoping that next time it's the real thing !At least I'll have bubs to show for my effort, instead of just feeling like I've been hit by a bus!

The worse part for me is,DH coming home from work early both times and then he has to try to explain to bosses and co-workers why we don't have a baby yet :( . Ha ha and knowing we will probably go through it again.

Wow! I didn't know Braxton Hicks weren't painful! You really do learn something new everyday. That means mine weren't them either. Luckily my episode only lasted 40 minutes then stopped. How bizarre.

"You'll be holding your baby by Sunday morning" the GP said on Thursday. Yeah right! Good on you! Yes, I'm now officailly overdue. Yay me.
