Hi Mummies,
Just a quickie.
Thanks for the concern about the fires. They are all over now. The smoke lifted really quickly as well so it wasn't too bad after all.
B has the flu - poor little thing but shes finally sleeping a bit more today. There's nothing worse than a dummy loving bub getting a blocked nose. I had started on some solids on Sat morning but i will wait til she's better now.
Queen - hope you're feeling better today.:hugs:
G is off to Hi5 next week. I'm sending her with DH cause he always misses out on that sort of stuff. Also I have a bit of a problem with big crowds - especially when i have my kids so i would probably lose the plot. DH is more likely to try and stage dive and be the naughtiest kid on the floor. Considering that i bought MIL a ticket as well.;)
Happy Monday everyone.
Check back in later.

Hope Bronte gets better real soon :hugs:
:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: to Queen, Scout, Stella and family, Cherrygirl and Bronte.
Quick one from me...BIG MILESTONE!!!!!...we had our very first 'Mama' today, twice. Jason came home early and was holding her on his lap as I did a shopping list. She started getting whingy and said clear-as-day "Mama". We thought it was a fluke so he held her for a bit longer and she said it again. Jason is so happy that he was here for it:smiliedance:
She's also progressed further with the crawling thing. She has worked out what to do with her legs, but is still not sure what to do with her arms, so she has started to rock back and forth.
Have a wonderful day girls...
Sonia.
:yelclap: :yelclap: Yay Emily!!!!! What a big girl!!! :yelclap: :yelclap:
So gorgeous... Our big grown up 'babies'....

Sonia- Yay for Emily!! :smiliedance: Before you know it, she'll be into everything and getting stuck everywhere! Ronan was hooning around backwards on the back of his head at this age- as in, lying on his back, pushing off with his legs, melting the hair at the back of his head on the carpet. They can pick up a lot of speed and we had to keep fishing him out from under the tv cabinet until we began stuffing it with pillows.. he was always scraping his nose as he went under or whacking his head on the skirting boards as he couldn't see them approaching  Glad to see your cute lil girl is going about it the right way!! :D
I should be getting errands done as Ronan isn't home today.. but Ariene is sleeping on my lap and I can't be bothered.. I'm such a homebody!

Lambie - dont you just love the neighbours???!!! one sunday morning i heard this strange sound outside... i went into the back yard and couldnt figure out where it was coming from so i went out the front in my PJs mind you... i find my next door neighbour cutting his hedges with one of those electric things at 5am... YES 5AM...ON A SUNDAY.. i just looked at him and said do you know what the time is??? he looks at me all chirpy and happy and replies... oh im sorry did i wake you??? Grrrrr

well jake is now rolling everywhere and he isnt doing dainty little rolls he is quite rough and its scaring me a bit. I think he is going to hurt his head or something. Speaking of his head i have an appointment on the 13th november to see the neurosurgeon - Jakes head is getting even worse at the back... front on it looks normal but from the side or the back its all out of shape.
We had our first tantrum over food the other day... He had a rusk and was holding it fine and absolutely loved it... until he pulled it out of his mouth and chucked the biggest wobbly as if i had taken it off him.. it was so cute tho :devil6:
Just thought i would chuck in some new photos ....

Hi everyone!!
I finally got some time to myself so decided to come on and go through all of the posts that I have missed and another thread has started  I can't find the old one
Okay well this will just have to be a personal thread although I did read BB say thank you for giving her a heads up on opening two browsers, no worries BB  Took me a while to figure out to do that and now it makes it just so much easier!!!
Okay well on to Charli...... She has started sitting up! She lasts for about 30 seconds before toppling over (and squealing with delight when she does go over!!!) we have a U pillow behind her and sit in front and try to steady her. We are quite amazed at how quickly she is getting the hang of it!
We are pretty sure that she is teething now.....Some nights it can take 4 hours to get her down for the night becuase she is just so uncomfortable. She has always been so good at going down for the night!!! Most nights she is okay but say 3 out of 7 even panadol (which i don't like to give very often) and bonjella don't work so we end up just sitting with her and cuddling her trying to comfort her until she ends up so tired that she has big red puffy eyes and just goes to sleep from exhaustion. It takes so much out of us as well just being there for her, its amazing. I just hate seeing her like that and it breaks my heart.
I got her a new teether the other day that she just loves and I am going to go and get her another one so when this one isn't cold anymore I can just grab the other one out of the fridge.
She has a flap of skin on her bottom gum at the front, do any of your bubba's have that? I only ask because the only other baby that I know doesn not have this? It is starting to flatten out so that is another reason that we think she is teething....I hope that I am right and that this is the reason we are having trouble. All the signs point to teething so I guess we can only do what we are already doing.
Does anyone else have any tips that have worked for you to ease the discomfort? We have tried a wet flannel in the freezer and this works sometimes but most of the time she isn't interested in it.
Thought I would post a new photo of her
this is Charli and her friend Zac (he is 8 months old)

BB, just posted and then saw your photos!!!
How gorgeous, I love that one of him sleeping!
Sonia, WOW that must of been so amazing hearing her say Mama for the first time! I can't wait for that! She is so so clever already at the rocking stage!!!
Em - I am a homebody too.....most of the time if I get the chance to go out I would much rather just be at home and i find myself, when i do actually venture out, wishing that I was at home. (this does not include shopping however )
sorry if I missed anyone......I will come back later today and try to post again. (if Charli lets me that is )

Oh, I'm in Vic. I forgot about the different time thingo. What time is reasonable for everyone? Assuming after kids are in bed is best. Someone work it out (not me:o )

So Wednesday night, 7pm SA time? 7:30pm SA time? Oh who am I kidding, I'm logged on permanently so I will see you all there! :D
I had a "Maybe I 've made a huge mistake and I hope he doesn't hate me and maybe he'll let me come home" moment today. Had one the other day too. Not sure why. It's not that I miss him or want him back, I think it's just because this single parenting **** is so hard sometimes. And I'm good at giving up when things get hard.
I've been helping out my Aunty at her shop, helping her get the office in order. And it's taking up a fair bit of my time. I take Curtis with me, but I'm compromising some of my parenting values when I'm there. I sometimes put him in the pusher, put a blanket over it so it's dark in there, and rock the pusher until he goes to sleep. I would never do that if I was at home. I put off feeding him because I have to get work done. I would never do that at home. I don't need the money (which is not really money anyway, she kinda just gives me credit at her shop so I can get some take away a couple times a week, and buy milk and bread and the paper every day) and to be honest I don't need the "getting out of the house". Everyone says "it will be good for you to get out of the house" but for me personally I LIKE staying at home. I like having a day where everything is calm and relaxed and slow, no need to hurry or anything. Is that maybe just because I'm lazy LOL. But if I give up the job, I'm letting my aunty down, plus I will seem like I'm lazy and ungrateful, etc etc. And Aunty loves seeing Curtis. But today I had to physically take him out of her arms because she was about to feed him an iceypole  for his gums, she said. But I shouldn't have to watch him like a hawk in case someone feeds him something. I feel like lying to them all and saying he has severe allergies. The other worker keeps offering him a "bubbacino" and Aunty's partner offered him a red frog the other day. I like the work, I do enjoy office/admin work. But there's no way I'll put him in child care, and there's no way I'd let anyone babysit him, and besides - he needs me. I need him. I guess I just have to find a solution. I thought today that a playpen would be perfect, set it up in the office and he can play in there. At the moment he's in the pusher all afternoon, with toys and stuff on the tray-thing in front of him. But I wouldn't use a playpen at home. I don't like them. If I have to sacrifice something, shouldn't it be my job first, instead of my parenting values?? :crying:
Sorry for my self-involved pity-me post. I need more sleep. It's not even that Curtis is keeping me up. It's just that I can't get to sleep until 11pm or later. And then I get woken at 6am for a feed, then we have to get up to get Vally to school. And I know, I'm probably getting the most sleep out of all of us May mummies :o but maybe it's because I'm doing this job too, I'm "run down" as well as tired. I try to eat properly but find that tough too, easier to eat convenience or take away foods. It's only me to cook for now, why bother making something nutritious. Vallerie won't bloody eat what I cook for her. I need to unpack some more stuff, but then I think the more I unpack the longer I'm going to stay here. And even with all the positives, I don't want to stay here.
Sorry.
Needed a vent I guess!
Hi to everyone , hope everyone is well.

queen, parenting is about survival, and you get to choose which values you want to compromise and when. You are a good mother and a very strong women you sound like you need a hug :hugs:
scout good to here that your ok.

ok, someone may need to advise where I have gone wrong
Hi everyone!
Just to confirm, 8pm in the southern states is Daylight Savings time, so that would make it 7pm AEST. I hope I'm around then, just depends on these children.;)
Queenie, if you feel you can't do it just tell your Aunty, I'm sure she will understand that there have been big changes in your and your children's lives lately and that you would like to keep it calm and relaxed for a while. As for the icypole:eek:. :hugs:
Hi Carolyn!
Hope you are well! Wow, baboons would be very scary to see. I thought our snakes were bad!
Ryan is adorable, such big eyes!
In general our snake problem is not so prevelant. I haven't seen any for a few days and the group that was living out the front seem to have moved on. I'm really hoping I don't see any more browns, they scare the cr@p out of me and it makes it extremely difficult to lead a normal life when you can't step foot outside!
Otherwise A is really enjoying her solids. Her weight gain has already started to drop since starting them, so I'm not pushing it too much. She has one meal of vegie or fruit or yoghurt most days, but if she misses it I'm not fussed.
Must get ready, swimming today! Have a good one all!:D
Queen- :hugs: don't go back to him.... he's no good for you hun... You are a FABULOUS mumma!!! Please don't be so hard on yourself, I am by myself most of the time and it does get tough to not compromise your parenting values sometimes... (I need to to just have a shower sometimes!)... and I've only got the one and then DH is home for awhile to 'help' ! Take care of you, and give yourself a break!!!
Have a kit kat!! LOL But make sure no one gives it to your son!! WTF????
Carolyn- That is so cool!!!! I can't imagine looking out my window to see that!! And what a gorgeous boy you have there- beautiful eyes!!
Tickle- Ohhh how scary with the snakes... omg browns... :hugs:
Question, why does their weight gain slow with solids??
Have fun swimming!! =]
I'm guessing because they back off the milk a bit and the milk is what's good for them. O started right over the top line of the chart and he drop right down to below the bottom line by the time he was 12 months. Weird considering people start them on solids to 'fill them up'. It's never done that with either of mine. I must though Millie has been a bit off food lately anyway as she's getting so many teeth at once, the poor bugger.:(
Ok, really have to go now.:o
Poop.....I can't do live chat Wednesday night coz I'll be at work until 10.30pm..... missing out again!

Hi everyone,
geez we can talk can't we?
Sheree - sorry you are still having so much trouble. Did you try having a couple of days without the poly joule?
Scout - wow some mothers have it tough don't they. I would be down in a place like that. Although having your bub in NICU is kind of like that. I found myself (especially the first time) being really down, and then when you hear about how early or sick some of the other babies were I felt like I didn't deserve to be so down because even though Noah was early he was healthy and then I felt worse because I flet like I shouldn't be so sad, anyway hope your feeling better soon.
Emma - sounds like Ronan is doing better, and your house is back to normal. I'm like you, I've had a couple of afternoons without Noah lately, and I preferred to stay at home.
Thats so funny about Ronan scooting on his back, I bet it was a bit scary for you though at the time. Noah is doing that now as part of his tanties, he thows himself down on the ground backwards and then pushes himself with his feet until he hits his head on something
For those who didn't see the nappy sew off thread, here's some pics of the nappies I made
lachlan in nemo (http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r25/hoopdeedoo/nemo4.jpg)
lachy in nemo 2 (http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r25/hoopdeedoo/nemo5.jpg)

first nappy again (http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r25/hoopdeedoo/DSC00134.jpg)
some ladies are very clever I can't believe shed made a dinosaur nappy complete with dino spikes, very cool, you girls should check it out
Anywho Lachlan LOVES his solids and is sleeping much better over all because of this. He is still refusing to drink formula. And I think he must be teething because he is now chewing on my nipples as he drinks. OUCH!!! It feels like he has sand paper in his mouth. :(
I asked my GP about the formula thing yesterday, and he said they are all the same and he will eventually get used to the taste. I've tried three different types now, and he rufuses to drink all of them and just cries and spits it out until I give him the booby. He's doing the thing that someone else described on his tummy he gets up on his knees, then toes and points his bum in the air and pushes himself forward a couple of inches, I'll have to try and get a photo. He also is doing multiple rolls in a row, so not staying put at all.
Queen - I don't know how single mum's (and dad's) do it. I think I would have well and truly lost the plot if I were on my own.
Working for family is so hard because you feel like you owe them something, and there is emotional tie that makes you think things like they need you, and how would they feel if I quit, or I feel like it's my duty to help them. Well if you really don't want to keep working then just tell her you're finding it hard to juggle the kids and work, maybe when Curtis is a bit older you'll come back. But your aunty did just fine before you started and she'll be fine if you decide you'd rather stay at home. I hate it when people (actually my mother is the only one who says it) say "You really need to get out of the house more" or "I worry that you don't get out enough" I find that it much more stressful knowing that I have to be somewhere at a certain time, or thinking is Noah going to throw a massive tantrum while I get the few groceries I need, or will I be home in time to put Noah and Lachlan down for a sleep, or are my kids going to be totally feral if I go out today? I'd much rather stay home, and get my house tidy, and my kids get to sleep and eat properly, and I can hang out here all day

Tickle - snakes scare the cr@p out of me. I would not handle living with snakes out my back door  We have had a few snake incidents growing up. We used to get red belly black snakes when we lived in Glenrowan, and then when we moved to Canberra we had a brown snake in our backyard. Maybe you need to get a few blue tongue lizards apparently they scare off the snakes, at least thats what i've heard, maybe thats just a myth :detective:
Carolyn - everytime someone says baboon it makes me think of the Simpsons episode where Lisa calls Homer a Baboon Baboon BABOON!!
Your little man is a real cutie, with red hair! So cute, I bet his daddy is proud of his taste in beer :p
Sonia - WOW Em sure is clever isn't she?
I can't remember what else I was going to say, but I had a response for everyone I promise

He just gets so hot so easily, and is a dribble bot at the moment

Ok, where to start?! This'll be a huge post, sorry (nothing unusual, I know) - wanted to get some personals done.
Sheree - you know I'm thinking of you, Lachie & Wade. Hugs all round. Hope they've got some answers and solutions for you all.
Emma - I can't believe how much of a homebody I am now. I used to HAVE to go out at least once a day, but now, I honestly can't be bothered. Dropping off and picking up Tayla from school is even such an interruption to my day. Hhhmmm, better rethink my priorities there! Wifely duties??? Lucky I'm not a wife ... LOL HAHA
BB - a hedgetrimmer at 5am on a SUNDAY? Don't ya just love neighbours??!! :banghead: I'm sure that's actually illegal. It's something like 7am before you can mow the lawns etc and use machinery. Or maybe I'm just being on keep the peace or police patrol today??!! I always am o/side in my PJ's in the mornings - even go to our neighbours over the road (she does it too so it doesn't matter LOL).
Ethan's really quite rough with his rolling too - maybe it's just a boy rough and tumble thing. How cute 'bout the tanty. Ethan just know's he's missing out now when everyone else is eating & he's not. Cute, cute pics too.
Mel - :yelclap: for the no-barf household.
M2C Did you find the old link??? (here it is JIC) http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=42806&page=57.
Yay for Charli sitting up! And ((HUGS)) for the teething.
Not sure about the flap of skin on her gum - DD nor Ethan have had that. Cute pics BTW!!! In regards to the homebody thing - I tell my friends I'm "socially inept"!!!
Queenie ((HUGS)) 100 times over. I can sympathise sort of with you on this one. I returned to work full time when Tayla was only 4.5 months old and it's mighty tough. I don't have any advice really as I bl00dy struggled for 3 years before I went part time 3 days a week. That only lasted 12 months or so and I went back full time due to a staff restructure.
I therefore cut HUGE corners and then had to sacrifice more play and bonding time as I had to look after the house too. It's a tough gig, but the best thing to do is what works for you. That's all anyone could ask and want. Great thing about your situation is you have the opportunity to still have Curtis with you. That's a great plus - I had to leave DD with DP's family and I used to shudder thinking what they'd be feeding her and stuff like that. Ethan stayed with MIL Saturday and was talking to him and Tayla and said that she'd probably buy him a chocolate frog or something AARRGGH - the thing is I know she was joking, but I still wouldn't put it past her IYKWIM? With him with you at least you can 'supervise'.
As for your "huge mistake moment" - I'm sure everything's just catching up with you and you do need to slow down a bit and get some rest?
Great quote from Carolyn
queen, parenting is about survival, and you get to choose which values you want to compromise and when
Carolyn - Ryan is so gorgeous!
Billy - Have a kitkat!!?? You crack me up!
Tickle - how's Amelia's teething going? Hope they aren't frustrating her too much. And as for the snakes I hope they're gone - snakes are eeewww - make me shudder.
Em (HDD) - And those nappies were great. I loved the silver one (can't remember who made it) too. How cute was shed's dino one LOL. What formulas have you tried so far? I went through most trying to help with Ethan's chucking and ended up with Heinz as it was one of the cheapest and did the same thing. Big W have it for $11.44, but my local pharmacy -sells it for $10.50!!! Go figure??? Hope the formula is a winner for you and him soon. Yay for the starting to crawl thing and getting thru imm's yesterday too! Hugs for the eczema - hope that clears up too. As for the dribble thing, Ethan has such a dribble rash around his mouth, poor thing.
Chick - I hope I've not missed any of your posts. Hope everything's ok and the boys are going well.
To everyone else - HUGE HUGS - and I hope everything's going well. Anyone heard from Paula, Kiersten, Marie-Jo, Cosmic (she's away, isn't she?), Trish, Donz, Saara??? I know I would've missed others, so anyone heard from anyone else lately?
Sorry about the huge post again ....
There's stuff about Ethan, but I can't be bothered now LOL! I'll come back and do a self-absorbed post later ....!
Sheree hun omg... :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: to you Wade and Lachie, my thoughts and prayers are with you guys to get some answers soon...

Hi everyone,
Oh man I'm still shaking. I went outlet shopping today:yelclap: . I'm not usually a fan because i think you still pay a lot for last seasons gear - but OMG David Jones had a huge sale. Oshkosh, esprit, Fred bare and bright bots 60% of already reduced. I was there for 3 hours on my hands and knees going through the kids stuff. Bright Bots made me laugh - Giorg did a shoot for them when she was little and ended up in the brochure and later that year in Studio Bambini. At the time i thought she was the most beautiful child to walk the earth. Now i look back and see shes got a strange build and a terrible mullet:eek: . I guess I'm not really meant to say that out loud!
Anyway in the end i ended up with a $200 (as if) bra for $10 and a fairy wand for G.
Family just got home. I will be back later.

Oh boy haven't I now opened a can of worms.... ok let me explain - it is just lately that I have felt this way. Drew has done nothing exciting so sometimes I feel I can't post but i do trying to reply to everyone else but no one seems to reply to me or ask me how I am doing... There are times when I can not post for a long time and no one really notices...
I know we are all very busy with bubs (some of them sick) but there are times when this thread comes across a bit clicky if you know what I mean.... And Emma you are right it can be hard to keep up when this thread has lots of chatter boxes chatting away! :p
Anyway it is probably just me being all hormonal and silly! :o
Sorry Chick79 I didn't realise you were going to post a message I wasn't sure if anyone on the May thread was in contact with Sheree and wanted to let you guys know. Sorry for stepping on toes
Pixie - I am so sorry if you though that my post was directed at you! I was away this weekend so I was happy that you popped in to update everyone! Please don't feel bad :hugs:
On that front I got a text from Sheree this arvo - it was mentioned to her today that it looks like his reflux has caused super sensitivity in his throat as since he was started being tube fed he hasn't thrown up nearly as much (if at all). But she won't know anything for sure until his scope is done at the end of the week!
I just hope for her sake that they find out something (:fingerscrossed: nothing serious) as this can't go on surely.....

Hey everyone!
Firstly thank you Sonia for replying to my please help thread earlier today! It means a lot to know that there are people you can talk to if you need to, makes everything seem that little bit easier :hugs: back to you.....she has been asleep for 45 mins at the moment so fingers crossed!
Carolyn - such gorgeous photos, he has stunning eyes! What a cutie you have there! And how scary is that baboon??? I can't even imagine seeing one other than behind the thick thick glass at the zoo!
Emma - those nappies look excellent! Are they a lot cheaper to make then buy? I am trying to convince DF that in the long run cloth is the cheaper way to go...maybe if I can have a go at making them and save even more I will have even more of a chance !
BB - Neighbours....hmmmm where to start. Ours rather likes to ride his motorbike around the back yard at 2 am in the morning during a rather loud party. We never complain though becuase Charli sleeps through it and he never complains about Mark's drumming (mind you he is a drummer too). Don't you just love them! How is things with Jake this week??? I would love to see some photos of Tahlia as well!! Can you arange that please :D
B*C - thanks for the link, am off after writing this to catch up!
:hugs: for Queenie!!! Hope to see you on the live chat again (thats if I make it, I really hope to) and hope you are feeling a bit less stressed.....
(((HUGS))) for Sheree.....haven't really had the chance to talk to her much but I always read her posts to see how they are doing. Thanks ~Chick79~ for the update!!
okay well I am off to have some time to myself, hopefully we have a good night here. Sometimes it is great that DF works Arvo's because we have him here until 3pm but then sometimes I really wish that he was here at nights...... can't have it both ways now can I
Leisha, sorry you've been feeling left out. :hugs: I think you're right that we need to pay more attention to other people. I am a shocker for turning up, posting a me me me post and leaving again. And I do appreciate people replying to me, so I should make more effort to do the same.
I hope Sheree gets things sorted with Lachy soon. I would have gone around the twist by now if I was her!
WEll, after saying I need to do more personals, I am on limited internet time here so I can't really reply to anyone!! Still on holidays in Adelaide and will be home on Thursday to catch up with everyone properly.
Just a little update on us:
Annabelle is sleeping waaay better through the night, usually only waking up twice at about 11pm-ish and 3am-ish.. then going through till about 6am. Hallelujah!!
The bad news is that she appears to be constipated. :( I feel terrible. She is pooing regularly, but it's quite firm and sometimes I see her grunting and pushing. She's not distressed or anything - just doing lots of little firm poos instead of a big soft one. I don't know what I have given her to eat that might have caused this - maybe it's just the whole solids thing..? Anyway, I feel like the worst mother in the world and I have no idea what to give her. My friend (with 6 kids so I figure she'd know!!) told me 30ml of cool boiled water mixed with a teaspoon of brown sugar so I have given that to her - hopefully it will get things moving. But I'm wondering if maybe a bit of prune juice diluted with water would be better? Any suggestions??
Got to run - need to google babies and constipation LOL.
oh.. Queenie - I will be in touch. I promise.
:hugs: again Leisha, I agree with Cosmic that we do tend to be very mememe on this thread...I for one have been so in the last few days.
Remember we are here for you and if you need a chat, please don't hesitate to PM me (I don't get PM'd nearly as much as I would like:D )

pears work a treat cosmic
Lachy is having the same problem. I cut down on the farex and add more fruit, especially pears
Leisha, I guess the old saying is true about the squeaky wheel getting the most oil IYKWIM. You need to realise that you are very much a valued member of this group and I am confident that everyone else feels the same. It is so hard to keep up and alot of the time I (we) only respond to the most dramatic posts and just read through the rest without replying. :hugs:
Queenie, I think it's easy to look back on situations and forget all the awful times and romantacise (sp?) the relationship. Going back would be the easy short-term solution but don't you think you will be back where you are in another few months or years?
Sheree- I hope you finally get some answers:hugs:
Em- is the Wiggles concert your Christmas present, you lucky girl! Where the other Em?
Tam- top post, must have taken awhile! A+ for you. Have you figured out when to go on Live Chat?
Cosmic- how the poo situation sorts itself out!
See now I've gone and forgot ppl :banghead:

Cosmic - I agree with Emma - Pears minus the farex. This worked for us a few weeks ago and instead of fruit for lunch, veg for tea, I just gave her pears for lunch and tea for the next few days  good luck with that........

Another new thread & I am way behind!!
Sheere – Sending you many :hugs: my thoughts are with both you and your family. I really can’t imagine how hard this must be for you.
Queen – The work situations must be hard going, I am glad you are feeling much better today.
Chick79 – :hugs: to you hun I think we all have moments like this both in the real world and in cyber world. I often feel like a Bub Hub Loner, I should change my name to Nigel No Friends LOL. Also don’t stop posting I love reading your posts and thanks heaps for letting us know about sheree.
Cosmic – That’s fantastic news about Miss Annabelle’s sleeping. But poor little bubba being constipated, maybe try pears like Emma & M2C suggested.
Hi Mel – Can’t make live chat tomorrow as DP and I are going out…. Shock wave this would have to be my first time out on a school night for ages. How is the family feeling?
Not much news in my little world just popping in to say Hi…..
Bye :D
'school night' ha,ha Lilla's mum. Don't party too hard!

Cosmic- a bit of pureed prune pulp tends to do the trick if the pears won't. Good luck!
Cherrygirl- well done on your bargains! I used to think the same about Ronan- that he was sooo cute... Now when I look at photos I think 'um..cute, yes.. but omg so fat, too!!' :o
Leisha- I NOTICE :hugs: And you're not being hormonal and silly! If it matters, Ariene isn't even rolling over. I don't post about it, but we got so focused on the speed at which Ronan grew/achieved things and now I'm learning that every child is so very different... I have always been in awe of how you cope with two so close together with your DH working away from home. I also think that it's so wonderful how close you are to your in-laws and how you've helped them out (I saw you in that thread :) I see all your posts, I think!). Take care. You deserve a PM! One coming your way...
M2C- yay! another Pearl Jam fan! Although I'm nowhere NEAR as much of a fan as you are! (both concerts... THAT'S dedication!! My DH would do that too, and send us broke in the process!)
Talking about music, I am soo green, Mace is going to see Little Birdy next weekend (here in Albury) with an old friend.... I'm not a massive fan but I havn't told him that cos I want him to spoil me because I didn't get to go ;)
Queen- I have nothing to add to what the other girls have said except that you're an inspiration to me and many others on the hub, and that you can ease up on your expectations of yourself with regards to parenting styles etc just right now. I remember what Scout said about Vallerie's intelligence and wonderful nature after she met up with you a few months back- It's cos she has such a fab mummy!
Jo- I'm going to miss live chat too- we'll miss out together! There's no way I'll have Ronan settled in bed by then.. He's getting up and playing/screaming etc up to 50 times a night before going to sleep...
Sheree!! You are all my my thoughts and prayers.. I don't know what else to say, really... I just really, really feel for you.
Caroline- Yay! Baboons!! I want to see more photos!! hee hee!!
Em! You are such a homebody, just like me! My mum took me shopping today and I was joking that the crowds were freaking me out-- little did she know that it wasn't exactly a 100% joke... I don't think that's a good thing!! But there's so going on at home, struggling to get eating and sleeping settled down that I'm happy just to stay here and get things right...
Tickle- We live at the foot of a huge, steep, dry grassy hill. I had a dream the other night that it was the height of summer and I could SEE the masses of snakes slowly advancing down the hill to our yard in search of water... So you have my sympathy and I don't know how you stay sane!!
Hi Billy! Hi Tam! Hi Mel! Hi Lillasmummy! Hi Trish! Hi Donna! Hi Paula!

Hey Em - just so you know I did send us broke  we bought the Pearl Jam tickets pre-sale before DD was even born and I am still paying my damn credit card off (which I got to purchase them, now THAT is obsessive ) !!!!! Ohhh and Charli still isn't rolling either!!!

Hi Yummy Mummies,
Sorry about before i was so hyped. I haven't been that excited since they reduced the chocolate boxes at K-Mart to $4.
So first of all to Sheree, I had never heard about what you were going through until i joined bub hub. Today i was in a book shop and there was a book called - My Child Won't Eat - The trials of others whose children will not feed. I thought of you right away. This book doesn't promise any solutions but it does tell the stories of others going through similar situations.
Chick and Pixie: thanks so much for letting us know about sheree and lachie
Emma - where did you learn to sew? That nemo nappy was beautiful. So was Lachlan.
Cosmic - Pears are great but if you have something coming out you are still ok. The solid poos have to happen at some time. When G was little there were a few that she couldn't pass and we had to flick them out with our fingers - No body ever said parenting was pretty! I think its 3 days without a poo before they need to go to the doctor???? I could be wrong:)
When I had G i freaked out the first time she started to strain - i thought that the nappy was because the wee and poo just sort of fell out of them. I remember being really worried. Its so funny now though.
Carolyn - Great photos. I agree that those baboons seem a bit scary. Your bub is beautiful.
Tam - BTW Thanks for all that info on getting G to school on time next year - I remember you saying you were showered and the beds were made - well we went to the meeting and school starts at 8:40am - AM- seriously when did this happen??? i was preparing everything for 9am:eek: .
A big hi, hello, how are ya to all May Mummies.
Billy - 40 posts - I'm catching up to you LOL.
Finally
Queen - Glad you are feeling better today. The most interesting thing about your post yesterday - is that my first thought was that the queen would know the right thing to say!! The big thing is this - when you get to the end of your journey in this life and you look back, whats going to matter to you the most??
OK so we have just done halloween. G wanted to trick-or-treat so we dressed her up and sent her out the balcony door and she walked to the front door. Lazy i know - but totally safe.
:hugs: :hugs: to anyone who needs them.
Cherrygirl, so cute you sending her out to the fornt door! thats compromising. I'm really going to bed, I've been on the puter all day but just wanted to ask if we should change the livechat 'date' to another day since you all have such busy schedules :D

When G was little there were a few that she couldn't pass and we had to flick them out with our fingers . Cherry Girl, I did not see that in the job requirments or in the users manual
Leisha- One of the reasons I wanted to join this group is that everyone cares about everyone else, and you are a part of the group :hugs:
Tickle - I also have a strong dislike of reptiles, I had an encounter with a lizard today. I was having a cuppa with a visiting wife and a lizard ran into her room and hid under the bed, it wasn't very big but as we all know, size is not important :D , I had to ring the enviro to come and get rid of it - and hes cute:p .
Hello to everyone else and hope to catch as many of you as possible on tomorrows live chat.
Now, for todays "only in Africa" moment, there has been a report of two lion cubs on the outside of the fence. I will let you all ponder that and fill you in on the details tomorrow.

awwwww lion cubs!!! Gorgeous!!!! Deadly, but gorgeous!!!! :D
Thanks for all the kind words for me ladies
I said I'd be back later with personals but that might have to be tomorrow LOL I've finally finished a 2 hour conversation with my mother (we're quite concerned about my sister and her alcoholic husband :() and I would like to get to bed before midnight tonight....
Chat to you all tomorrow night anyway, if I don't post before then!!!

Anyway in the end i ended up with a $200 (as if) bra for $10 and a fairy wand for G.
We just got a brand depo in Canberra, I went I saw, I came home with NOTHING. I couldn'y believe how much restraint I had, but I must say I am very suspicious when it comes to 'outlet prices'.
Emma - those nappies look excellent! Are they a lot cheaper to make then buy? I am trying to convince DF that in the long run cloth is the cheaper way to go...maybe if I can have a go at making them and save even more I will have even more of a chance !
okay well I am off to have some time to myself, hopefully we have a good night here. Sometimes it is great that DF works Arvo's because we have him here until 3pm but then sometimes I really wish that he was here at nights.... can't have it both ways now can I
Not sure how much money I'm saving making them myself cause I've spent quite a bit of money on fabrics, and my time is worth a lot of money :D I'm thinking the price of green kids nappies would have been comparable to making them. I'll have to see how many I get out of the fabrics I've bought. But I think it works out at about $15 a nappy for the fleece ones
Shift work must be hard. I think the same thing about Scott (Sort of). It's great that he finishes early, but it would be even better if he could occupy Noah when he gets up before 7 am. (I'm lazy I know) Then again the reason he leaves so early is cause he wants to go to the gym before he starts
Em- is the Wiggles concert your Christmas present, you lucky girl!
It was Noah's birthday present from the inlaws, I mentioned that I would love to take Noah, I MIL said she would pay for the tickets (all three!!). I'm actually really excited - sad I know. And now we are going to Port Macquarie after the wiggles so we'll be going on our first holiday ever. Scott and I didn't even get a honeymoon because he was on contract at the time we got married, and didn't get paid leave. I'm I bit worried about the dates we will be on the road though we are meant to be coming home xmas eve, and it's a pretty long drive.
I often feel like a Bub Hub Loner, I should change my name to Nigel No Friends LOL.
LOL I feel like this too!!! I think Mel said it best I usually only reply to the freshest posts, or the ones that stick in my head, which are usually the dramatic ones. But it makes me smile even more when someone remembers to mention me!!
Emma - where did you learn to sew? That nemo nappy was beautiful. So was Lachlan.
Thank you :p I learnt to sew at school, and through my mum. I can't really say she taught me because her way of teaching me was here is the sewing machine, this is how you thread it, (after I threaded it wrong). I guess she is the reason I learnt how to sew, as she ownes a patchwork shop, and I used to work in it.
Oh and thats really gross about the poo. The things we have to do hey
Now, for todays "only in Africa" moment, there has been a report of two lion cubs on the outside of the fence. I will let you all ponder that and fill you in on the details tomorrow.
That is soooooo cool!!
Leisha - we love you and I really admire you, your boys are closer together then mine and I come in here all the time and complain about how hard it is, and share stories about Noah, even though he's not a may baby, and you are always so helpful and caring towards others, but hardly complain or share about yourself. You're a great mummy, and a valued member of the group :yelclap:
~Chick79~

Aww thanks girls :hugs:
I don't really have many friends out in the "real" world so I crave my cyber friends! My DH thinks I was just being silly but he still comforted me all the same....
BB - Thanks for your PMs! :hugs:
Carolyn - Aww lion cubs, they are so cute (as long as the mummy or daddy lion isn't with them! lol
Emma (HDD)- don't feel lazy, when Stu is home I make him get up to Ryan and Drew so I can have a sleep in for a change!
Tickle - I don't know how you live with snakes.... that is the one thing that is frightening the living beegees out of me moving up to my inlaws property!!!
Queen - Please don't go back to hubby unless that is what you really want.... not just cause single parenting is too hard... It will only do YOU and your kids more harm in the long run!
M2C - My DH is so jealous!!!! Hope the concert is worth every cent!
Emma - thanks for noticing my posts.... I too am coming to grips that my boys are going to develop differently.... I always thought my second would develop at a much faster rate but not mine.....
Cosmic - if you don't want to try prunes straight up try the pear! unfortunately when drew got constipated when I changed him onto AR formula none of the home remedies helped and I had to get some drops from the chemist... worked a treat but as he hasn't done a hard one since (and that was about 7 weeks ago now!)
Billy - did you get any sleep last night???? ;-)
Well I have to go (I am sad to now!!!) - still got loads more packing to do and Stu is only home til lunch time so have to make the most of his muscle strength to move the boxes I have already packed!!!)
P.S. Now what is the go with my post count..... I was well over 800 and now it is back to 711????? I don't post in the games and fun section..... no fair!
Hello All,
I agree with what everyones saying about everyone being a valuable member of the group...and that we never intentionally ignore anyone, and also that its often the more dramatic posts we reply to! I'm probaby the worst for not doing the proper PMs, my excuse is that I've got one of the oldest and most worn out brains here, and my memory is shocking. I get embarassed because I forget who is who and what everyones been up to which is only made worse for me when people change their names! Then I don't want to say anything in case I get names or details wrong.....sooooooo, I was hoping you guys could all help me out with this concept...can we do a quick summary again of who we are, where we are, what we're up to bla bla bla? I'll start, and then if you could cut and paste and add your own details til we've got an up to date list, I'll print it out so I can refer to it when I'm posting...does that make sense?? Hope it works..
ME: Joozi REAL NAME: Jo LIVE: Outer East of Melbourne AGE: 35 PARTNER? Mark, he's 35 too and works in IT and teaches photography and plays guitar in our band. MY KIDDIES: Cal who's nearly 12 and off to High School next year, Beth who's 10 and thinks she's 16 and Eliza born 30th of May BORN AND BRED? In Melbourne, lived in outer east all my life, have lots of supportive family nearby, so very lucky. WORK? I'm a registered nurse and go back to work today  part time 5 days a fortnight at a public hospital five minutes from here where I work on a medical ward that specialises in respiratory/cardiology/gastro and where we get most of the acutely ill mental health patients as well. HOBBIES: Singing, playing guitar, writing music, playing in my band, my garden..
FEEDING? Bf til 4 months, since then have been doing mixed feeding (half bf, half ff in preparation for going back to work. POO/WEE CATCHMENT? I did disposables til the my planet recycling shut down, now I'm getting into cloth...gonna try and make some soon to add to my stash. CURRENT STUFF WITH BUBBY? HATE having to go back to work, would rather be a SAHM .... Eliza is about 7.5 kilos...she sleeps through most nights 8 til 7am and she really isn't interested in any solids yet, just spits it out. She's got no teeth. She rolls when she feels like it, which isn't often. She's got strong legs and takes her weight well. She doesn't sleep all that well during the day. She's got a snotty cold right now.
Just a little bit of extra news too.....file under 'dramatic'. My mum has just been diagnosed with an acute stenosis of her spinal cord due to osteoarthritis which means she could lose the use of lower body at any time unless she has surgery. As such, she's going into hospital ASAP and will be there for 2-3 weeks then in rehab for another couple of weeks. I'm really worried for her...also, she was to be my main babysitter with me going back to work, so now I have to rethink a lot of stuff, including the possibity of selling our house and finding somewhere smaller/cheaper to live to relieve the pressure if I'm not able to work as many hours. Life wasn't meant to be easy hey??
Hope you're all having a good day..look forward to reading all your summaries!! Only put it what you want, but if you could put in as much as possible to assist my memory loss it would be appreciated! :yelclap:

ME: ~Chick79~ REAL NAME: Leisha LIVE: Bowen & Mackay Nth QldAGE: 27 PARTNER? DH - Stuart, he is 30, works away in the mines as a rigger. MY KIDDIES: Ryan - born 15th april 2005, and Drew born 27th may 2006 BORN AND BRED? Was born in Townsville and lived there til I was 19. Then I married a Raafie and moved down south with him until he brought me back closer to home!WORK? Before becomming a mum I worked in Administration, mainly as A Personal Assistant. Now though I am happy as a fulltime Stay At Home Mum (I am just privilidged that my DH's job allows for me to do this) HOBBIES: Anything crafty, love making cards - wanting to learn scrapbooking, reading, Bubhub!
FEEDING? Bf for the first few weeks, since Drew was 4 weeks old he has been on formulaPOO/WEE CATCHMENT? I did disposables with my first son but then I discovered modern cloth nappies and fell in love! Have been a fulltime clothie since Drew was born! CURRENT STUFF WITH BUBBY? Well Drew is not that exciting.... he likes to take his time with his development  At his last check up a few weeks back he weighed 6.875kg but he would defintely be in the mid 7s now 9heavy lump he is!). He has rolled from front to back a few weeks back but not since.... he has started teething however so I have loads of drool everywhere, a miserable bub with sore gums and a tired mumma! I have been blessed with a great sleeper however!
Jo - that is really scary about your mum! One of the reasons I am going to live with my inlaws is that my MIL suffers from something very similar! She needs to have an op but her surgeon wants to leave it as a last resort as it may not work and she could end up in the wheelchair alot sooner then she already could do... Hope you work something out with going back to work!
Hey again
Em - looking forward to reading your refresher....
Leisha! So nice to read yours, it's so much easier....Scary about your MIL, when do you go there? My mum doesn't have a choice with the surgery, they said its the most severe case they've seen and could go at any time, and she'd lose control of her bladder/bowel and be in a wheelchair. She's always been superindependant and super busy and active, it's going to be very very hard for her.
I'm copying and pasting these refreshers into a word document that I'm gonna keep on my desktop to refer to easily....
~Chick79~
01-11-2006, 10:28
We are in the process of moving up there at the moment.... within the next 3 weeks we will be there permanently!
It is very scary to hear of your mum.... I was just saying to DH that is how his mum could get - it is sad though that they have to get to that stage before they will do an operation.... Kath (MIL) has always been active and indepentent as well, she has learnt to let people do a few things for her - she has even said that she is thankful I am moving up to do alot of the normal day to day things for her!
I may be needing to PM you!
Hope all goes ok with your mum!
I may be needing to PM you!
PM me any time! Can I do the same?

REAL NAME: Emma
LIVE: Canberra
AGE: 25
PARTNER? My DH is Scott we were married in December 2003, we've known each other about 12 years or so. He is a public servant, and his job also allows me to stay at home for now until we want to buy a house.
MY KIDDIES: Noah was born on 16th October 2004, and Lachlan was born 29th April 2006. The only thing these two have in common is that they were both prem. Noah was a fat lazy bub who didn't roll, or crawl, or try to move until he was about 10 months old, once he started though he hasn't stopped. Noah has two speeds, running or sleeping. Lachlan is thin and little, and moves like he's got ants in his pants :D
BORN AND BRED? I was born in Wangaratta VIC, and moved to Canberra when I was about 10 years old.
WORK? I am a qualified graphic designer, but got pulled into the family business, which is a patchwork shop. I was basically running that until I had Noah, and returned when he was about 8 months on weekends, but I'm a full time SAHM at the moment.
HOBBIES: Patchwork, scrapbooking anything crafty except knitting (I suck at that unfortunately)
FEEDING? Still fully BF, as much as I don't enjoy it Lachlan refuses to drink formula. On solids big time, has two - three small serves a day
POO/WEE CATCHMENT? I've been using disposables, but hoping to switch to cloth
CURRENT STUFF WITH BUBBY? Trying to get Lachlan to FF, but he just pushes it away, cries until squirms until I give him the booby. Rolling all over the place, hitting and grabbing at everything that comes near him. He even rolls in my lap, I never knew a baby could be like this. At his check up on Monday he weighed 6.4 kgs. So he's still very little for his age, Noah at the same age was about 9 kgs. He is sleeping from about 7 - 7:30 pm, waking at about 10 pm for a feed then sleeping til 4, 5 or 6 am. Then I either feed him, or but him in bed with me, and he'll sleep til about 7 am or whenever Noah gets himself out of bed.

I forget who asked me which formulas I've tried, and I can't find the post now.
I've tried S26 Gold, Hienz, and Nan HA gold. My GP said they are all the same though, so maybe he's just doesn't like the taste of formula full stop. It's wierd because he likes the taste of solids just fine.
Maybe it's the whole bottle thing, cause he refuses to take a dummy aswell. :detective:
Leisha - how's Drew's breathing? Is he still having problems. He was prem too wasn't he? That could be why he's not interested in moving around too much. This thing with your MIL sounds awful :hugs: for you too. You are so good to go and help her out with everything you have to do already  How is your hubby feeling about the move, is he worried about you being further away?

Oh I forgot I also wanted to ask Leisha, Tickle and Emma, or anyone who has switched to clothies with a toddler.
Did they have any problems with it? Noah hates wearing the coth nappies I've got. Baby Behinds, and they pocket I made. He walks funny, and doesn't want to bend over, it's quite funny watching him I LMAO, but he was out of the nappy in a few minutes into wearing it cause he was not a happy boy  Is it just a matter of him getting used to it, or am I doing something wrong? I'd ask in the other section but I know you girls will actually respond, even if you can't help :fingerscrossed:

Hi Emma
Yep Drew was 5 weeks premmie.... the doctor doesn't seem to concerned so i think i am just stressing to much! His breathing has settled right down now! Still snorts when he gets upset but I think that is a characteristic thing then a problem! Paed seems to think there was a small blockage in his nasal passage and now that he has grown it hs shifted itself.... she still wants to monitor him however until he is 12months old (and add the fact he still has a soft heart murmur).
With switching Ryan to cloth - I had no dramas!!! It did take him a day or 2 to get used to having something a little thicker between the legs but other than that it was all good  Now when I have to put him in a sposie he keeps trying to pull it away from his skin! Oh and I loved your nemo nappy!!!! That got my vote! :yelclap:
DH is cool with me moving up to his mum's... it isn't that much further for him to travel. And while I am taking care of her she will also be helping me with the boys (just with entertaining and feeding!!! obviously she can't do any of the lifting or bathing....)
HoopDeeDoo
01-11-2006, 16:09
Thats good to hear about the breathing being ok now. Funny that he snorts (well probably not funny), Noah snorts when he laughs.
My friend had a heart murmur when she was a baby, I didn't realise how common it was until I had babies, and everyone starts talking to you about these sorts of things. Hope it fixes itself
Thanks for voting for me, I was wondering who voted for me, I voted for shed :D
It's good that you can support each other. My MIL is great too, I'm lucky to get along with DH's parents, a lot of seem to have bad relationships with thier MILs

ME: The_Queen AKA Queenie
REAL NAME: Kerrin
AGE: 27
LIVES: Keith, SA
PARTNER: separated in September.
KIDS: Vallerie 5 yo Curtis born 04/05/06
BORN/BRED: born Alice Springs, lived in Keith as a kid, went away to boarding school at age 14, after finishing school lived in Adelaide until I moved back here after separating from husband.
WORK: I worked in the shipping industry before I met husband. I did temp work in the first couple of years we were together, then studied child care, immediately after finishing that I got pregnant with Vallerie. I have done admin work off and on, since Vallerie was 12 months old, until just before her 4th birthday. I don't like being a working mum, because my jobs have never been something I "love". They've always just been something I did for extra money. So I'm happy to be a full-time SAHM for the foreseeable future. At the moment I do a little bit of officework for my Aunty's shop, but I take Curtis with me, and it's literally 3 or 4 hours a week that I'm doing. And it's not for pay, she just gives me credit at her shop (it's a take away and video shop :D)
HOBBIES: I play the piano, although I left my piano at husband's house. I like, um, true crime and serial killers
FEEDING: BFing all the way with Curtis. Massive challenges BFing Vallerie due to her cleft lip, so it is very rewarding to have it be so easy this time around. Actually I have aspirations to be a Lactation Consultant, in the distant future!
WEE/POO CATCHMENT: Converted clothie here :D I was converted during the pregnancy. Curtis wore sposies in the first 2 weeks, and we've had quite a few "disposable days" and when I first left husband we went sposie too.
CURRENT STUFF WITH BUBBY: Rolling and sHUFf0ling qll over the joint, almost ready to crawl i think!! Loves being up on his feet, loves grabbing at things (like my keyboard!! See above sentence for proof!!!) And today he started waving bye bye !!! Yay!!!
Sorry I have to catch up.
Just wanted to remind everyone that this site is really googlable, so if you don't want your info floating around forever and ever delete it after everyone's had a chance to read it. I know everyone's probably sick of hearing that but I like to remain (somewhat) anonymous. I will post all my info tomorrow morning.;)
Also, Emma, O HATES cloth nappies. It actually promted his toilet training as he suddenly decided he hated wearing nappies. To be honest, at night I let him wear a sposie. The nappy is just huge and it freaks him right out. Anything new or different freaks him out at the moment though. The latest is foreign change tables. I look like a nutcase in the parents room.:o Good luck with it.
I'll post more in the morning when I've had a chance to catch up on all the posts.

Queenie - Yay for curtis waving bye bye!! I can't wait for Charli to do that, it must be so cute!
It's great learning more about you all! Can't wait for the rest of the MM06 to post their details!!!
See you all in live chat......hopefully!!!
OMG Jo, your mum, are you Ok? Do you need anything? How can I help?
I heard for Scout yesterday and it doesn't sound like she is having much fun in hospital, hope she gets out soon. And Sheree? What happening there?
Emma- if you want Noah in cloth you should try some prints that he is into like the Thomas the Tank Greenkids and I would make sure that you are using a trim nappy and changing more often at least until he gets used to it. As for making then, alot of ppl think they are expensive when they start out but don't realise how much PUL, hemp etc costs so unless you have heaps of time or love sewing it probably isn't worth sewing your own.

My kids' names are special to me- Ronan is an Irish name loved by DH and I for ages and Ariene is pronnounced are-ee-en and is Welsh- I think that the Welsh language is the most beautiful in the whole world, it's not really spoken much anymore, but it sounds like music or something...
PARTNER: Mason (Mace), he manages some local Group Homes for adults with severe intellectual disabilities. He likes to hog this computer, listen to what must be the most extensive music collection in the southern hemisphere, paint, write and read.
WORK: I studied locally (social work) and have done a bit of youth work, women's refuge/youth refuge stuff, Child Protection and most recently helping blind and vision impaired ppl stay safe and as independant as possible in their own homes. The rest of the Lion story, after an extensive search for the lions yesterday there does not appear to be any evidence to support the lion cub sighting (nor is there any evidence to say they were not there. Concensus is that it was a extreme way of getting out of work for a couple of day! You dont get that in Australia  i will let you know if they appear again.
Good to talk to those who make it onto live chat this evening. Drat, can't sleep...too much coffee!
Carolyn - missed you on there, I was logged in but not watching and when I started to type "hi" you exited. BTW, loved the pics, your boy is adorable.
Erin - we get the same reaction from Em with apple, peaches and apricots (splotches (sp?) below the eyes and on the temples). When this first happened with apple we freaked out and raced her to the Dr's. Appears it's too acidic for her. Today I gave her apricot again, but mixed with banana, seemed to have worked a treat.

Oh WOW this is unbelievable...we can talk talk talk!!! It took me ages to catchup as I was 2-3 weeks without checking Bubhub...
I don't know where to start...Well I'm still in Canada for another week. It has been great to see family and friends but I can't wait to get back to Oz, in my own house. Lee is still waking every 2 hours at night so I'm hoping he will get back to his good sleeping behaviour when we are back. I'm really hoping it's the fact that he is not sleeping in his cot, in his own house and environment that's making him this way.My parents were putting pressure on me saying Lee was hungry, so to prove them wrong, I started him on cereal last week. Doesn't make him sleep better. It's as if he can't go through the deep sleep cycle. He wakes up screaming before he gets into it...who knows. I will only find out when we get home. In the meantime, I am still really tired and I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been like this for the last 2 months...I don't understand where I get the energy to go through the day.
Cosmic, I am happy for you that your little one is sleeping better now.
Can't wait to see DH too. Being away from him as been the worst thing about this trip. My parents are not very helpful during the night. They do help with the bath and rock Lee to sleep. But that's about it. They find the time to nag and complain about the toys (which I put in a corner) in the house. They even asked me to clean up the house (cause, eh what else do I have to do during the day!). I'm really upset at them and I now realise why I am so happy in Australia, away from them. They are also always negative. Nothing very positive to say. Anyway, enough of them. Most be my lack of sleep that makes me say these things!:(
I understand that some of you have bigger problems like you Sheree. :hugs: for you. And also you Scout. And you Jo (for your mum)
Lee has just started to rollover from his back to front. Like a couple of you, he is on the slow side of things. But I get plenty of smiles, cuddles, grabbing things that he puts straight into his mouth, very strong legs (he supports his weight), he sits by himself for long periods too. Everything in due time. Each child is different. Not to worry.
I am thinking of you ladies and look forward to be back in Oz to be able to spend more time with you and to the good weather!
À bientôt

I think different bubs focus on different things to be good at first IYKWIM. Lachlan is rolling and trying to crawl, but he doesn't say ma or da, and he can't sit by himself (cause he's too busy trying to crawl  )
He is driving me batty, last night he woke up at 1 am, 2am, 3am, 3:40 am, and then 6am. I need sleep. Do you know why he woke up? Because he even rolls in his sleep!! everytime he gets put on his back he's rolling over :banghead: It would be fine if he just went to sleep on his tummy, but noooo he's got to turn himself around, and try and play, and then grunt and winge until I come in and put him back on his back, and he's back on his damn tummy again
I realise he's only been doing this for 3 days compared to months for some but geez, give me back my baby who sleeps. Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, and maybe he has always been the baby who doesn't sleep, and the few weeks he has been sleeping has just been a faze. Oh goodness I hope not
Sorry I missed live chat my DH is a computer hog when he is home, and I was half asleep on the couch, so I didn't really think about it ooooops

I guess PM me by 19th November...incase there are some crafty ones out there that want to handmake something...hint hint...;)
Marie-Jo - it's wonderful to hear from you. :hugs: for Lee's sleeping, :fingerscrossed: it improves, settles when you get back home.
Emma - Em does the same thing, rolls onto her tummy during the night. I'm beginning to think that this is the reason why she wakes. And like you can't understand why she can't sleep on her tum, or even roll back...I know she can!!

Hi Marie-jo I feel your pain living with the parents…. I am doing the same at the moment and although it is invaluable having the extra help with Lilla, I think we are all looking forward to having our space again.
Are you ladies doing live chat next week ? Last night DP and I had a night out. We went to see a film (really big I know) the ‘The Road to Guantanamo (sp??)‘, it is quite indescribable, but an amazing film that I highly recommend you all see.
I have really loved reading all about everyone again, it is hard to keep up with the who’s who of the may mummies. Great idea Jo
So lets see all about me…..
Me: Lillasmummy Real Name: Christine Live: Melbourne Age: 25 Partner Matt, 34, Artist/ Lecturer at University. Bubba: Lilla Strawberry born 26th May 2006 at 11.15 am. Next year it will continue when I commence my Diploma in Education which will take me one year and I will be a Primary Teacher. I am really lucky as my mum and dad are going to look after Miss Lilla. Hobbies: I studied contemporary dance (you can laugh its ok!) so I still bust out a few moves, I have also been writing heaps since being at home and sent a play to the short and sweet festival in Sydney. I still try to be a little bit creative as it keeps me sane. I used to go out heaps before bubba but now I like to be at home with my little family. Feeding Breast until we both decide we have had enough. Lilla: My little lumpy does not roll all the way over. She loves playing with her hands with toys and her feet! She loves to have a chat, and loves it when I attempt to sing and she plays air-guitar. She is also a cheeky monkey and I think she is going to be a show pony just like her Daddy. No food as yet but shall start soon. Not sure what her weight is.... about 7.5kgs….
Okay Gotta go and feed this bub.... Take Care All ;)

Hi Everyone!
Lambie - you have mail! :D
As for this post it is just a quick one (Drewster due for a feed!) to update you all on Sheree and Lachie!
I received a text from her last night and this is what she wrote:
"Lachie was released from hosiptal yesterday (wednesday) morning and they were to continue tube feeding him at home but to offer the bottle first. They were leaving for brissy this morning with Lachie's surgery scheduled for friday morning to have pictures taken of his throat and stomach."
Poor lachie is going to go through some rather nasty procedures tomorrow however hopefully they will get the answers they need in order to help Lachie thrieve into a healthy happy little boy!
Sheree you guys are in my thoughts and my prayers :hugs:
Thanks Leisha for the PM and update on Sheree and little Lachie. Poor thing :fingerscrossed: all goes well and it turns out to be nothing to serious.
Thanks also Billy for your PM.
BTW - I have been talking to Donna (aka Mum-of-Preston, formally known as Donz). She is still having problems accessing the forum with her PC. We are meeting up next Wed for the movies and lunch, so will say hi from you all.
Christine, you sound really creative....so jealous!;)
Must go Em to squirmy to sit nicely on my lap atm.
Bye 4 now,
Sonia:wave:

Hi Y'all
Lambie - I will try apple mixed with banana in a few days to see if that goes better.
Carolyn - I might tell DH to pull a lion cub scare next time he needs a bit of time off - LOL
Marie-Jo - Living around constant negativity is torture. I'm feeling for you:hugs: .
BB - Picture of Tahlia is beautiful. I'm having a problem with G at the moment - she is a wicked witch in the preschool xmas play and she doesn't want to be she wants to be the princess. Now she doesn't even want to go to school tomorrow. I'm really not sure how to deal with it. I kind of just said well you can't always be the princess. Whats a wicked witch got to do with a christmas play anyway???
Lillasmummy - what do you sing to Lilla? I'm LOL picturing her playing the air guitar. The other day i caught myself singing Barry White to B. Hope she never has regression therapy. DH sings shut up a your face but changes the words to put a smile on your face.
Chick - thanks for letting us know about sheree. Hope they get a solution once and for all.
Well B is cat napping all day at the moment. 10 mins at a time. She fell asleep quite early tonight so I have a feeling I will be up with her around midnight:eek: .

Okay firstly just wanted to ask you all if anyone is still wrapping at night?? We are and I wish that we had stopped it earlier now becuase if we try her unwrapped she will only last a few hours and then is wide awake.....wrapped she will sleep 12 hours (on a good night that is).
BB - thanks for posting the photo! She is just gorgeous!!! loved the outfit, I too cannot wait to play dress-up's with Charli!!
Cherrygirl - reading through your personals I just wanted to say that I am exactly the same with books. When i was younger my mum would come in at 1am in the morning and I would be there under my quilt with the torch finishing my book  I have been like that ever since I can remember!!
Lambie - Hope Em sleeps for ya tonight!! sending some more of those sleepy vibes her way ! Charli went down at about 8:30 and has been asleep since then so fingers crossed for our 2nd good night in a row here
Marie-Jo - I felt a bit like that as well when I hadn't been here for a few weeks, I now make a point of coming on everyday and keeping up to date! I just love reading about all of the bubba's! Good luck with Lee's sleeping patterns once you arrive home! If you want I will send him some sleepy vibes too!! You never know......
Emma - hmmm some sleepy vibes to Lachlan too huh?? I hope you get your good sleeper back too! I was starting to worry that mine had gone but it seems she is on a good track at the moment (touch wood) I hope that Charli doesn't decide to roll soon becuase we have noticed that it takes her quite a while to turn her head to the side if she goes face down, and this is while she is wide awake  tis a bit worrying......We wrap her still anyway so can't see that happening.....
Lillasmummy- I am up for live chat again next week!! Anyone else?
Sheree - Thinking of you, Wade and Lachlan!! :hugs:
Billy - CONGRATULATIONS again on the house!!
That's all for today, catch up again tomorrow.......

No time for anything (dead tired), but just wanted to wish Sheree, Wade & Lachie all the best tomorrow and hope that they get some much deserved and needed answers.
I will be thinking of you all

Goodmorgen May Mummies!
M2C – I stopped wrapping Lilla about 2.5 months ago. I started to stop the wrap by taking one arm out, then the other, then just wrapping the middle and then finally…. No wrap. It worked for us as I felt that she did not get too upset and it didn’t seem to change her routine too much. Good luck :fingerscrossed: and let us know how you go.
Cherrygirl – I sing all different types of music to her, the air guitar song was when I was singing Wolfmother. I have a really really bad voice, but she doesn’t seem to mind just smiles away…. Such a great audience!:D Oh and LOL to Barry White… Do you also find you make up completely random songs like the nappy change & lets go to the shop!?
Have a great day everyone! Shall Be back later…..

Good Luck Sheree, Wade and Lachlan. Big :hugs:
Lachlan woke up at about 5:30am crying and on his tummy, he even had his safe and sound support pillow still around him  Oh well at least that was the first time he had woken since 10:30 pm, so thats pretty good, but then Noah decided to get up at 6am. Damn I was hoping daylight savings would stop that. Lachlan went back to sleep though, despite Noah's best attempts at trying to wake him up, looks like it's Noah's turn today at making mummy's day difficult.
BBs - hope Jake was better for you last night. Love the Tahlia as Dorothy, did you make the costume yourself?
Sonia - hope Em was better for you too. Like you say I know he can roll back, it's so frustrating. Maybe they get upset because they don't mean to roll over, and they are still half asleep and wondering where they are? Who knows, but I hope this stage doesn't last much longer.
Movies and luch I was only saying to DH the other night the last time I went to the movies was when Noah was a baby and it was a mum and bubs session. Wow that was a loooong time ago
Liesha - Drew was the same as Lachy 5 weeks early (and 1 day), technically Noah was too, but it was really 4 1/2 weeks (or exaclty 1 month), but it's amazing the difference 5 or 6 days can do.
M2C - love the nappy photo so cute!! Also if she still likes being wrapped go for it, or if you really want to stop try a sleeping bag instead
Tam - why are you on BH at 1am????
Emma - heeellllloooooo How's Ronan's sleeping going?
Donna - hey get yourself back here soon!!
cherrygirl - I had a giggle re regression therapy. Geez I hope my boys never do that, I'd hate to think what they would think of me :o
Marie - Jo - my mum is exactly like that everything is a negative, drives me nuts

ALL THE TIME!!!! :D
It was just funny until Noah starts singing the same thing back LOL Now I have to watch what I'm singing about, I don't really want him to be walking down the street singing about his dirty bum or something

LOL. DH and I have a contest to see who can go the longest making up what mumma's gonna buy in the Hush Little Baby Lullaby. Giorgia thinks its great which is good seeing as we don't actually know the real words. And also for some reason i can't explain i keep singing "stop. Nappy Time" to the tune of MC Hammer Can't Touch This??? G's favorite song is Miss Murder by AFI (don't ask, i can't explain why) I'm in big trouble when she hits catholic school next year:eek:

OMG my DH started doing that with Noah a while back, now it's like the after bath ritual that we sing that
Hi everyone! We're back from Adelaide and it's been great reading about everyone again. Jo, when you have it all in a word document can you email it to me? I already forget most people's stories!
ME: cosmic
REAL NAME: erm.. Cosmic. ;) No really, it might be paranoid but I don't want my real name on the very searchable internet. I'm happy for people to know my name in PM's and at meet-ups.. I just don't want it used publicly.
AGE: 34
Lives: Sydney, but a born and bred Queenslander. Grew up in Toowoomba, spent 2 years in Mackay, then lived most of my adult life in Brisbane before coming to Sydney 3.5yrs ago for DH's work.
KIDS: Annabelle born on 11th May (9 days overdue) weighing 4.08kg and 54cm long. I very much wanted a natural (drug-free) birth and attended heaps of classes and did lots of preparation, but after 32 hours of labour (7hrs of pushing), including an hour of syntocinin to speed up contractions and 3 mighty pulls/pushes with the ventouse it was clear this baby wasn't budging, so I had a caesarean. It was a good c-section experience though.
PARTNER: Husband, Mr Cosmic :D, who is 38 and works in International Development. Our 5yr wedding anniversary is coming up next week.
WORK: hmmm... started off studying psychology and worked with homeless youth and also for Family Services in Qld, doing child protection and juvenile justice work. Went on to work with international students in an advisory capacity and ultimately became Manager of International programs for a very large TAFE Institute. Came to Sydney for DH's work so I resigned from my job and went back to studying a Masters in Psychology (coaching) and became a Life Coach. I am hoping to do my honours year in psychology next year, but since my undergraduate degree is so old I may not get in... which is fine - I'll keep doing coaching. I love it and can fit it in around the baby which is perfect.
HOBBIES: I am into all things metaphysical - astrology, tarot, clairvoyance etc and try to do a lot of meditation (no time for that though) and have done psychic development courses. I grow herbs and forget to use them. I try to keep fit - walking, jogging, gym in the past... but these days mainly walking since I can do it with the baby.
FEEDING: Exclusive booby for 4.5mths, then comp feeds of formula for a month due to low supply, then solids at 5.5mths. Now we are having 3 meals of solids a day and she is looooving her food!
WEE/POO CATCHMENT: When pregnant I stocked up on cloth - pockets and fitted, Totsbots and BB's.. since having Annabelle, we have used a mix of cloth and disgustables but for economics and the environment I am attempting to go mostly cloth from now on. I am having some leakage issues so I can't commit to 100% cloth till they are sorted out, but I do love my cloth!
BUBBA STUFF: Annabelle is giggling, chatting, singing all day long. She has known how to roll for a while but only the past few days has really got into rolling in a big way. This morning I left her on her mat and soon she was yelling so I rushed in and found her halfway across the room on our polished floor boards! She can also sit up but doesn't really do it much. Her toes are constantly in her mouth and she also loves to study her hands... she's fascinated by them. She is developing a gorgeous sense of humour and finds the oddest things amusing.
Whew! So that's it for us.
To whoever asked (sorry I forget) we still wrap her for all her sleeps. When she's unwrapped, she wakes up constantly - arms flailing everywhere.
And Marie-Jo, you might find that solid food makes a difference with Lee when he really gets into it. To be honest I don't know if it is the food or just that Annabelle is almost 6mths old now, that she has grown out of the nightwaking - but she definitely seems to be in a new pattern (just like the psychic said - yay!) of waking at 11pm and 3am. Soooo much better than every 1-2hrs!! you have my sympathy.. but I'm sure you will be turning the corner very soon!
Firstly:
Sheree I'm thinking of you guys.:hugs:
Thanks Leisha for the update.
Cosmic: Lovely to hear from you. Good to hear things are really improving for you guys.
Marie-Jo, hope you survive the next week or so.
BB: That pic of Tahlia is so cute. I can't wait until my pair are doing that sort of thing.
Sonia: Please say hi to Donna for me. Tell her I miss her posts!
ME: Tickle
REAL NAME: E ;)
AGE: 24
Lives: Just south of Brisbane.
KIDS: O, 27 months. A 6months. Had grade four placenta previa, c/section. Didn't go the greatest. Haemorrhaged losing over 4 litres of blood, four transfusion and a balloon thing in my uterus to stop the bleed for a while. Recovered fine and no hystorectomy.:D No more children planned. Two is really managable and everything feels just right at the moment.
PARTNER: Husband, Mr Tickle. Together for nearly 9 years, married for 2.
WORK: I did a few things before having babies. I worked at a pet shop for a couple of years. Became a vet nurse and then went on to study Early Childhood Education and did some work in a couple of centres. I'm planning on going back to this in a couple of years (the studying that is). I want to enjoy my children and I will go back to work after they are in school. I hope to live in the UK for a while in a few years.
HOBBIES: I'm just getting into scrapbooking at the moment. Other than that I'm pretty boring. Oh, I am also enjoying swimming at the moment. Gives me an hour away from the kids and some time to relax.
FEEDING: Exclusively breastfed for the first 5.5 months or so and then introduced some solids. We are taking it very slowly as O got very constipated when I introduced too quickly. We will stick to one meal a day for the next few weeks I think.
WEE/POO CATCHMENT: Cloth since she was about a month old, she's allergic to sposies.
BUBBA STUFF: Well she's a good roller, sits unsupported and makes a lot of noise, laughing and talking. She loves her brother and her brother adores her. They already spend a lot of the day interacting together which is lovely. O is really good with her and loves to make funny faces and noises at her and she laughs like I've never heard anyone laugh before.:D
Otherwise, I've been enjoying a 'sleep in' of late, until 5:30am! I never thought I'd say that. She's been up at 3:45am everyday lately which means I'm buggered by the end of the day. I'm actually not that bothered. I'm just so happy that she's over her reflux issues and is a normal happy baby now. I'm sure a lot of you know, having a baby that screams all day grates on you after a while.
She has just had her 6 month vaccinations, we were a bit late. Her weight is rather interesting. A kilo a month every month since she was born and this month she put on 50g. The doctor asked if I had concerns about that and I told him I'm glad! If you put on a kilo a month for the rest of her babyhood we'd be in big trouble!
That's about it really. Sorry this is so long.
Hope everyone is well.

HI all
Marie-Jo - every 2 hours??? i thought i needed sleeping vibes but i am sending them to you instead :hugs:
HoopDeeDo- Jake is the same with the rolling... mmm... he wont sleep unless he is wrapped so it is becoming a bit of a problem. Unless i strap him to his cot i dont think there is much we can
do about it!
I did make the dorothy costume, will kinda... i bought the shoes from salvos and put red glittter on them, i also got the dress from salvos... it was a womans summer dress and i cut it up and sewed it back together.. i was worried it would fall apart at school but we were safe for the day
Cherrygirl - Poor G... who wants to be a witch?? i know id rather be a princess! Hope she went to school with no problems.
and stop. nappy time... thats hysterical!
Mum2Charli - Wrapping... GRRR dont even get me started... Jake is such a worm, i can wrap him 10 times and he can still get out. Have tried to get him to sleep without but no chance at all. I remember with Tahlia tho i wrapped her till she was at least 8 months. She didnt try to roll when she was sleeping tho so it wasnt a problem. How come you want to stop wrapping??? I tried the one arm out, then two... but i didnt work for us. he ends up completely unwrapped and at the other end of the cot, on his stoamch whinging.... MEN!
Lillasmummy - its funny what silly songs you make up isnt it???
this is what i use to sing to tahlia
my name is tahlia and im a lumberjack
i go into the forest and i cut down all the trees
then i go home and drink a can of VB
i have no idea where that can from but it sill makes me laugh :D
we all use to get her to do poses, like council worker etc... it was hysterical. she would lean against the wall with one leg crossed over and her arms crossed... she was probably one 1 1/2yrs old.. no wonder when she was little she said when she grows up she wanted to drive a bob cat
well jake is awake... actually he is having about 8hrs max sleep in 24hrs i dont know how he is doing it cause im certainly exhausted. its getting worse. He woke at 2.30Am to stay awake, mind you i waited up till 11.30PM to feed him so my sleep is virtually non existent. im sooo over it. i dont know what to do any more.. i have tried everything i can think of. Anyways such is life.
Hello to everyone else. Sorry i ran out of time. Have a nice day all
BB
oh BB, 2.30am??!! That is shocking. Lots of sleepy vibes to your little man.
And tickle, we have a 5.30am starter in this household and that is quite early enough thanks very much. I don't know how you do 3.45am! Actually, DH takes her out of bed at about 6am and I sleep for another half hour or so, so I cannot complain.

ME: Bubble*Crazy
REAL NAME: Tammy (prefer Tam as I HATE Tammy)
AGE: 29
LIVES: Bunbury, WA. Born and bred.
KIDS: Ethan – my bootiful bubby boy – 13.5.06. Went 9 days overdue and induced (I think he’d still be there now if he wasn’t!). Had a fantastic birth experience of 8 hours with an epidural for the last couple of hours as he turned posterior and stopped me dilating.
Tayla – 11.8.00 – Mini Mum (could never try to fob her off as someone elses, DAMIT!). Goes to full-time Pre-Primary – about to embark in Year 1 next year.
PARTNER: Partner, Jamie. He’s 36 and a welder/fabricator. We’ve been together coming up to 8 years early 2007.
WORK: I spent 11 ½ years in the Insurance Industry and must say I was a damn good Insurance Specialist (haha!). Have recently resigned out of stubbornness as I wasn’t going any further in our small city and didn’t want to miss out on my kids (like I did with Tayla).
I am also a carer for DP’s brother who is intellectually disabled and take him on outings (normally Saturday afternoons).
May look at either furthering this field or on the other side of the spectrum get some bookkeeping work for small businesses I can do from home when the kids are in bed, at school etc.
HOBBIES: Interesting … well, I spend an awful lot of time on this god damn ‘puter – bad bad habit! I’m also going to resurrect my scrapbooking. Haven’t done anything for about 12 months, but have $1000’s worth of Creative Memories stuff in my cupboard. I’m also selling a bit of stuff on ebay to clear out the house and get some extra cash.
FEEDING: Switched to Formula when my little man was 5 days as I was in total excrutiating pain for 4 of those 5 days (despite great attachment from everyone I saw). I had the same issue with Tayla for 9 weeks, so lazily changed to the bottle. With the amount of pain I went through both times, if I were to have another I would FF from the beginning. Sorry to those pro-BF …
WEE/POO CATCHMENT: Ok, so not only and I FF I’m killing the environment too ;). I am (well, should I say Ethan is) FT Huggies.
BUBBA STUFF: Loves rolling everywhere – I can literally leave Ethan and have to go looking for him 5 minutes later. I was so proud to say the other day that it didn’t look like there was a chance he’d be crawling in the distant future – the next day he’s up on his bloody knees! Once he goes, he’s not going to stop though. AND – his legs – he’s not stopped kicking them since probably 3 weeks old. I now have to change him from the side – his kicks are so forceful. I’ve been slack and slowed down on the solids as he’s not needing it now – he’s pretty much not drinking all his bottles (even when I don’t feed solids), and he’s growing mighty fine: he’s in 0’s for his sleepsuits for the extra length. He’s also booked for his 6 month immunizations next week.
He also 'insists' on feeding himself at times (ie holding the bottle himself) - he pushes your hands away!!!
He sleeps on avg from around 6.30/7pm till 6.30am
Bubble*Crazy
03-11-2006, 12:46
Tam - why are you on BH at 1am????
Time difference, love! ;)
I PROMISE to come back with personals ... at some stage!
Sleep vibes...poo!!! Sorry M2C, they didn't work. She went down at 8:30pm, dreamfeed at 10:30pm, up again at 11:30pm, 12:30pm, then awake from 1:30am to 3:00am (bawled my eyes out the whole time:crying: ....so sleepy and exhausted, DH cranky with me so slept in spare room), up for the day at 5am...:banghead: Did however manage to get her to go back to sleep with me to 8am.
Okay, in saying this...she needs to go into her own room, I think sleeping in our room needs to come to an end. Problem #1, her room is down the other end of the house. #2, it's off the kitchen and next to our lounge (old fibro cottage with extenstions), so I will need to tiptoe around the place in the evening. #3, she has no a/c in her room yet and the unit we have yet to install will realistically be too big for a room of this size. Solution....to turn the study, which is nearer to our b/room, into her room and her room into the study. And eventually purchase a smaller a/c unit for her room. Boy, have I got my weekend cut out!!!
***End of Vent***
BB - I too am baffled as to how Em is managing to function on the limited sleep she gets. All the textbooks say 12hours per night, 4 1/2 during the day?!?
Karma I suppose...I mean from 6weeks to 4 1/2 months she was sleeping through from 9:00pm-7:00am...Okay who placed a curse me:laughing:
Okay, I'm sure I have more to say, but I'm beat, will come back later with personals, I promise:yes:
BTW - my non-sleeping beauty is 6 months old today!
Happy Birthday Emily! :D
I'm so sorry to all those having night-waking iss-ewes, but I do firmly believe it is just something they go through. In my case, we went through it for 2 months...... and in her whole life she's never slept all the way through the night... so I guess it's about what you get used to. I'm sure it must be MUCH harder to go from lots of sleep to practically none. :( But THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!
Tam, I think Annabelle is going to be like Ethan. She is very suddenly seriously into rolling. And then she lies on her tummy and wriggles and gets frustrated that she's not going anywhere. I'm sure it's a matter of time and she'll be up and away. God help us then. :o

quick 1 handed ME post...
gave curty some puree'd carrots and rice last night. He did huge gassy farts, huge sloppy explosive poo's, and a power chuck. we'll hold off solids for a bit longer i think. i bloody hope he doesn't have any food intolerances or anything - i'm too lazy for anything like that!!!
Anyone heard from sheree today?
Sorry bit of a me me me post... :o
Ohhh my baby doesn't sleep at night for very long anymore either... I'm so tired... she is wrapped because her arms go so nutso that she just cannot sleep... And BB I feel your pain with the wrapping, as Rhianna can get out of it no matter what I do....Argh give me strength!!
I re-wrap her about 5-6 times a night........ oh I'm soooo tired!!!
Also contracts are being signed and our house goes on the market monday!! So have to get the house ready to sell, without DH here, but thankfully my wonderful parents are coming over for most of the weekend to help me out...
Also talk about clingy, cranky bubba!!! WTF??? I'm thinking its maybe teething?? Oh gawd I wish I knew!! :(
Ok I will probably read all posts over the weekend, but may not be around much have a million and one things to do...
Love to all the May Mummies :hugs: xoxoxox

JAKE HAS 2 TEETH  :yelclap:
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT
2 down... how many more to go?
Oh yay Jake!! :yelclap: Maybe thats what his problem has been??? :detective:
(:fingerscrossed: thats what it is for Rhianna too then!!)
:smiliedance: Thats great news BB!!!!
Sorry very quick.
Queenie, how much did you give him? I found that M had that initially and then I realised it was because I gave her too much. I then made sure she just tasted (a small teaspoon at the most), for the first few days and very gradually increased. She will now eat a fair bit (a couple of weeks in) but still only one meal a day atm. I don't feel she needs it anyway.
Billy: Hope you get the sleep issues sorted soon.:fingerscrossed:
My darling M wakes numerous times through the night but I don't really notice as she sleeps with me and I just feed her. Very lazy.:o
the_queen
03-11-2006, 18:48
i gave him 2 tsp at lunch and about the same at dinner. hmmm too much, maybe :o
He is doing so well on his bitty that i don't think he needs it, either.
Queenie, if he's doing really well and not seeming like he's obviously looking for something more, I say stick with booby.
Annabelle was feeding every 2hrs around the clock (sometimes 1.5hrs) even with the comp feeds of formula. And when I started solids, she was just SO excited. Her eyes still light up when she sees that bowl and spoon, so despite the fact that I probably gave her too much too soon (hence the poo problems :o) I feel really confident that it was the right thing to start her a bit early. And equally, you will know when Curtis needs more than milk. But he sounds like he is absolutely thriving so no need to push it, I reckon. ;)
It's amazing how different they all are. I really think it is completely individual. I'm so happy Annabelle is doing so well now C.:hugs:

Hi May Mummies!
Oh the joys of starting solids again..... I hope Drewster won't be as fussy as Ryan was when he first started!
BB - OMG Jake has two teeth!!!!!!!!!! Clever little boy! :yelclap:
I haven't heard from Sheree today.... it would have been a huge day for them though.... I did send her a message this morning passing on all our prayers and wishes.... Hopefully everything went well and poor lachie didn't go through too much pain with it all.... :fingerscrossed:
Oh billy - I wish i could help ya darlin! :hugs: Now listen hear Miss Rhianna, Mummy needs her sleep so you just stay wrapped and go back to the good sleeping beauty you were last week!
Lambie - sounds like you have a very big weekend!
Tam - I am just starting to get back into card making, trying to work out what stuff to buy! Would love to learn scrapbooking!
For once I have something interesting to post on Drew!!! We turned Drew's car seat around the other day and today we went for our first drive in it and he squealed (happily) the whole time! He had a ball! And of course Ryan just thought it was very funny hearing him actually make noises!

OMG firstly...... I put Charli down for a nap yesterday arvo and about five minutes later she was SCREAMING so I went back in thinking something may have bit her etc (thats how frantic she sounded) and there was blood in her eye !!!!! I freaked out totally (as you would) but turns out she had scratched right inbetween her eye and her nose and the blood had dripped over into her eye.....Scary!!! thank-god it was only that I was thinking she had poked herself in the eye really badly at the start!!
Okay I did want to stop wrapping because i've had a few of "those" comments "oh you're still wrapping her", you know those comments that are supposed to sound like a question but you can just tell they are thinking, you shouldn't still be doing that.
I feel better now knowing some of you do still because I think that Charli really likes the security of it!! I am a bit worried though becuase when she eventually gets looked after I don't think my mum will wrap her tight enough to keep her in and will be up all night........anyway thanks for everyone's replies it always helps to come on here and see what you are all up to! Charli does get out sometimes but we just wrap tighter..and tighter..and tighter......
For those of you still wrapping what are you going to do in the summer months? Still wrap but only have them in a singlet? I am confused as to how to keep her cool. I have some muslin already is that what you are supposed to use in the warmer months?
okay now to personals!
BB - OMG 2 teeth?? Yay jake!! Now go to sleep! Great effort in putting that dorothy costume together yourself...why arn't you just clever clever clever! I don't think the one arm out will work either (wrapping) so I will stick with what she likes until she tells me otherwise I think!!
Lambie - Okay I will try not sending you any sleepy vibes this time, see if that works. We are still doing well here......went from about 9pm until 6am.....I'll take that as a good day....she went down after a bit of a hissy fit tonight but I skipped her last nap and kept her busy in an effort to tire her out....seems to have worked......2 hours and counting......Good luck with the room swap. Hope you get it done soon and hope it works for you all!
Happy 6 months Em!!!!
Cherrygirl - we sing to Charli all day, she loves it.....When Mark "air drums" she just has her mouth open in a wide smile the whole time and when he plays guitar to her she just stares with her mouth open like whoa that is so cool.....we are going to get her a baby guitar for christmas so she can start copying him! I too will have to change some of the things I sing about when she can understand. for example "why won't you just go to sleep you cheeky little bugger, please give your mumma some time to herself" hmmmmm.........by the way love the whole "alright stop , Nappy time", that made my day!!
Cosmic - How did you find Adelaide?? Did you have a good time over here? It must be so good to get home!
Tickle - I am so jealous! I always wanted to be a vet nurse...that is until I got this job, now there is nothing I would rather do!
Tam - How is the selling on Ebay going? I would like to start that and was wondering if you are actually making money or does it just end up being more of a hassle than it is worth? What are you selling btw because I am constantly buying off of there.....
Billy - :hugs: to you! Hope the sleeping issues ease!
Leisha - Turning the car seat around is so much fun! I love to turn around at the traffic lights and forget all about them going green and then get abused  I know that is bad but I just can't help it!!
Okay.....sorry for the long post, Hope all you May Mummies have a great weekend and I hope that everyone gets some well earned sleep!!!!!
Aaaawww yay Drew!!!! :smiliedance: What a big boy now!!! And thank you Leisha I will pass that message on to my darling girl... LOL
Tickle- We used to co-sleep too but she kicked me out... won't sleep like that either anymore!!! I'm at my wits end!! And I probably should be asleep now...
Also kinda wishing she hadn't learned how to say "mummummummum" yet, because she literally yells it out in her sleep!! She just did it then... OMG so weird... and loud at 2am... LOL
M2C- Wow how scary with the blood!! OMG!!! Glad she's ok... I would've freaked too... With the wrapping we have our air-con on pretty cool so I judge by how I feel... as it gets warmer I guess I'll have to wrap myself up to see how hot I get!!! Hahahaha... PMSL!
Just wanted to give some more big :hugs: to Sheree, Wade and Lachie from Belinda, Kevin and Rhianna for the incredibley difficult scary time you guys are going through at the moment. We are thinking of you and are really hoping that things work out asap for you guys...
Please let us know if there is anything we can do...
With love from your Mackay-ite buddies... xoxoxox

Ok firstly... hun there is ALWAYS going to be someone who says this stuff...i know you feel like you have to justify yourself to everyone but please dont... if charli is feeling secure wrapped and sleeping well when she is then then let her be wrapped!!! its the same with everything... How come you are doing this... how come you are doing that... you will always be questioned, just try not to feel like you are doing the 'wrong thing' cause your doing what is best for you and Charli!
BTW... tahlia still cant sleep unless her sheets are tucked in really tight both sides... she feels more secure like that and if thats all it takes then im happy to do it
And you know what... i had to stop myself from explaining in a previous post why i hated my c/s, why im not BFing, why Jake is sleeping in my room etc etc...and i know why... no-one else needs to know!
now summer wrapping ..... when it has been extremely hot here i just have jake in a singlet and use the muslin wrap with the fan on low... we have those sun blockout curtains so its pretty cool in the room anyway.....he seems to be fine so i will be sticking with that.
 Thank god it was just a scratch, how scary tho. Jake is always scratching his face but if i had seen full on blood i would have freaked. Welcome to one of many scares!
MMM. thats it... Have a lovely weekend ladies :-)

Edited to ADD: Billy we posted at the same time re M2C... just wanted to clear that up otherwise i look like a copy cat LOL

BB - I am slowly but surely learning to trust my instincts when it comes to Charli and the more I am told to do so, the more it helps so thank you for that!!!! I was the same as Tahlia for a long time when I was younger, I even used to wake up when mum came in to say good night and ask her to tuck me in again in my sleep apparently  I do a lot of weird things in my sleep still though, so I am told
:hugs: to you!!!
Billy - thanks for the advice on summer wrapping, we had evap air con installed when I found out that I was pregnant so thank god for that because we had ripped out the ceiling fans before realising that they were our only source of heat relief before evap!!
 BB... copycat!! LOL I read it and thought your ideas were better, then I came back and you'd added that bit! I didn't think you sounded like a copycat hehehe ;) :hugs: :D

How cute! I bet the novelty wears off pretty quickly though .
I think I remember some confusion with a pic I posted from our hols about Ethan facing forward. I don't think I corrected/mentioned that he is still rearward facing. The seat we have can go up to 12 kgs and he's quite happy to face the back ATM - it's easier for him to be amused by Tayla too I think. Looking at the pic though it really does look like (from memory!) that he was facing the front as the seat sits fairly upright for some reason.
Scrapbooking - it's great fun, but I'm such a loser for ideas - I don't have a creative bone in my body. I'm pretty much a copy cat from the CM products and books they produce ;) - just tailor it to what I have.
I've always been interested in card making. Might give that a go too!

Hi everyone,
to Billy and everyone that is experiences sleeping issues at the moment I just thought I would let you know that we are in the same boat. Normally Ryan wakes twice a night for a quick feed and back into his cot in the next room, however since last Friday night we have had terrible sleep. Initially we put in down to the antimalarial tablets we put Ryan on ( a side effect of the drug is vivid dreams etc), he would wake up screaming and then only sit sitting up. So he has spent all week in bed with us. I dont have a problem co-sleeping but he was doing so well before now. He is still sleeping in his cot during the day so I guess it is not too bad.
I have just giving him his second dose of mephaquin today, so we will see how he sleeps tonight.
On wrapping, I have not wrapped Ryan since he was 3 months old, even then he hated his arms being wrapped which probably defeats the purpose. Also he sleeps better wwith the air con turned off
Leisha We also turned the car seat around this week and got a very similar reaction
Charli eye scratching OMG - I have just clipped DS's nails
BB you dont need to justify anything to us.
Queenie you are a super feeder, dont doubt your instincts becuase we all value them.
Sheree Wade and Lachie - :hugs: you need then
and scout :hugs:
The camp manager here has started to feed the baboons:no: now they are coming really close to camp. They may be cute but they probably have rabies, not happy.
Enjoy your weekend everyone

Forgot to post before on this .. OMG! How scary - and the uncontrolled screaming where you have no idea what the matter is?
DP was feeding Ethan his last bottle Thursday and half way through he just started this blood curdling scream - we still have no idea what for. He was consolled in a few minutes, but not knowing why he was so upset is soooo hard. Is he in pain? Is he scared? ...

Wrapping
I tried wrapping Vallerie when she was newborn, back then I did as I was told HAHAHA but she hated it, would scream and scream and wriggle around until her hands were free. So I didn't perservere. Even when she wasn't sleeping well, in those first few months, wrapping didn't help. Curtis, well I'm so lazy when it comes to him, I never really tried wrapping him, and he sleeps fine. They're all different these babies, aren't they - how annoying!! LOL
Car Seats
I am sooo norty, when I left the husband and came down here to my home town, I brought the capsule, but when I "installed" it into my parents car to make the initial move down here, it felt really wobbly and I wasn't confident of it's safety. And when we got down here, a friend gave me a car seat. It's not a reversible one, but it is in good condition (a bit grubby, but that's not a prob) and it has a 5 point harness. So I gratefully accepted - and I put Curtis in it straight away (in mum's car). So he was 4 months old, about 7 kgs. Oh god I'm terrible. He could hold his head up very well, he's always had strong trunk control. And we weren't travelling in the car very often, and now that I'm settled in our own place (in the next town) I don't actually have my own car. Oh look at me justifying my possibly-negligent parenting!!!! LOL
Blood-Curdling Screams
Curtis does this too - and Vallerie did it also. Curtis is easily settled though, whereas she was NOT. I dunno what it is. Teeth? Nightmares? End of a sleep cycle? Growing pains? Empty tummy? I'm no help am I LOL I have lots of idea's of "why" but no idea as to "how to fix".
a big MWAH MWAH to you all, and cuddles to our bubba's.
oh AND AND my sister is in labour as we speak!!!!! So tomorrow I will be an aunty!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well hellooo ladies;) ;)
I'm delerious. I've been on the puter for 7 hours and i'm keeping 1 eye closed so i can focus.
Yaa for Aunty Queenie - hope all goes smoothly.
Well had a tough day with B today. Unlike the rest of you she really doesn't like sitting up in the car seat and if shes tired forget about it. After a really good morning i was on my way home from being a domestic goddess (in someone elses house!) and she hadn't been asleep for 4 hours and she just lost it. By the time we got home she was so worked up that she took ages to calm down. Then she only had 2 10 min sleeps for the rest of the day.
I have never wrapped B. She was always such a hot baby so even back in june she was sleeping in a singlet and nappy. She has really sensitive skin so the second she sweats she gets a bad rash.
M2C - thats really scary about bubs eye. Poor little thing.
Also with the other bubs screaming - i think with B, right now shes really getting her own mind and has begun demanding what she wants, which is usually me.
Carolyn - those baboon pic scared the s*%t out of me. I can't imagine something like that creeping around outside my window. I'm a huge baby when it comes to wild things. When i was preg. with B i made DH come home from work to deal with an injured bird that was flapping about on the balcony. I stayed inside bawling. I'm also scared of my brothers turtles (they have it out for me) They are cared for by his 7 year old!!
Lambie and Billy - don't work too hard this weekend.
Ok so i need a quick vent before i go.
DH is letting me down the last couple of days. I feel like I have 3 kids and they're a gang and I'm the downer. I want him to be more supportive and i want him to step up in the fathering role. But as my beloved Dr. Phil says "you either get it or you don't". And he don't! Oh, I don't suppose its that dramatic but I don't think its appropriate if i walk into a room and he and G quickly stop doing something because they know i wouldn't want them too. Don't you think thats sending her the idea that rules are only valid when the rulemaker is watching????
Anyway I haven't really spoken to him about it yet because i felt so dissapointed in him that i didn't know what to say.
OK thats my bit sorry for the grumble.
:hugs: to scout, sheree, marie-jo and tired mummas in general.

Wow Teeth everywhere Yay for Jake & Lee!! :yelclap:
Queen are you an aunty yet?
M2C – That’s really scary about Miss Charli’s eye – poor little bub & poor mum too. And I sooooo agree that you should go with your mama instincts you know when its time to stop wrapping your little lady.;)
Lambie & Billy– Hope your both not working too hard!! We were supposed to be moving thus weekend but I put it off a week so that I had more time. It is a lot harder to get jobs done with a little bubba around. Funny that..
Carolyn – hummmm baboons…. Living in inner city Melb the only animal life we get are ants…. Oh and flies of course. Tell me more I love reading your posts!!
Cherrygirl – How are you and hubby today?? You were up very late or was it up early this morning…. You must be super sleepy today. Oh by the way vent away anytime I have moments like that all the time… :devil6:
Anyways better dash and feed the little lady…. Hi all the other may mummies
Hi Gals
I haven't caught up on posts (can't believe how many there are to get through!!) - I hope everyone is well.
Well this week has been a bit of a shaky week in hospital with me regretting sending myself there for most of the time!
Saxon had a big crash and became a horror baby which caused me to whip myself into a frenzy. We've both settled down over the last few days though. I've decided that I'm just going to be pathologically happy in order to get out of there but I think that I could still be there for another 1.5 weeks.
DP heads back to Sydney on Tues so that will be a real test for me without him next week!
I hope to have more of a chance to catch up here tomorrow.
Ciao

Hi Mummies
This is going to be super quick as I have 2 (yes not 1 but 2  ) screaming kids both wanting me!!!! This is when I hate the fact the DH works away!!!!!!
Anyway got a text from Sheree so I thought I would give you all an update!
Lachie had his scope and the poor thing was quite miserable afterwards (I am sure mummy and daddy were too!). Again what they found was typical reflux like weak valve and very red. They didn't get alot more then that explained but hoping he (the doctor) will explain better when we get biopsy results on Mon/Tues. At this stage he will not be staying in Brisbane hospital. They are still having feeding issues, he is a bit better though, so they guess when he rings it will be a where to next type of question....
Like i said my boys are being very demanding of me tonight so gotta run! (I know know I am the one that whinged about personals and here i am not doing anyay :o )
Cosmic - you have mail! :smiliedance:
Thank you Leisha for the update... Please send my love to Sheree if she can't get on here...
:hugs: Sheree again... I wish I could do more hun...
Scout :hugs: sweetie I hope this finds you feeling a bit better, and we are here to support you whenever you need... :hugs:

Thanx for the update, Leisha. I really hope Sheree, Wade & Lachie get some sort of progress from the doc next week. Hope the boys are all tucked up in bed giving you some 'me' time. There was something else I was going to mention to you, but do you think I can think ...
:hugs: to Scouty - thinking of you too, darl. Hope things improve for you too.
Billy - how's the house sorting going so far? Bet your mum & dad have been a great help.
Congrats to Lee & Jake on their new chompers! Well done, boys!
Carolyn - if that was me, I'd too be not happy jan with the camp manager feeding the baboons. Scary, scary for you with the rabies.
Queenie - c'mon. Details. Aunty Queenie?????
And, we all know you are such a terrible, terrible mother. NOT!!! You would've known if Curtis wasn't ready - and obviously he was (re car seat). As for solids - I guess only you can make that call too ;) - and I'm sure you will!
Cherrygirl - hope DH has picked up his act (if he has .. pass the msg to my DP, please???!!!).
Marie-Jo - that is such a cute pic of Lee. How big is he now? He seems very long - going to be tall?
Jo - how was the first few days back at work. Hope everyone was kind to you ... you know, like how they are when you're pg??!!
Sonia - how's the rearranging going???
Anyway, must run. Have a good Sunday!
Tam xx
Good post, Tam. Lots of personals... how do you do it? Take notes? I'm going to have to start doing that!
TEETH??!! Wow - congratulations Jake and Lee! How cute! And that was a gorgeous pic, Marie-Jo. He is adorable. How is the sleeping going?
Sending lots of love to Sheree and Wade and Lachie. How terribly stressful for them all.
M2C, I meant to say the other day that would have really freaked me out if I saw blood in Annabelle's eye too. How scary.
Scouty, hang in there. :hugs:
Thanks for the message, Leisha.
How's work going, Jo? How are you adjusting?
Hi to everyone else.
Annabelle has suddenly decided it's boring lying on her back and playing with her toys so as soon as I put her down she is instantly over on her tummy. But she gets frustrated and starts whinging because she can't move so it's pretty full-on. I have to be with her constantly. Add that to her new (or is that old) habit of powernapping during the day and I'm exhausted!
I think she is trying to move. She can get some traction when she is on our polished floors but I usually have her on a lambswool or playmat (surrounded by pillows these days with this rolling business) and when she tries to wriggle, she just ends up scrunching the mat up under her so she gets really cranky. LOL. And she won't roll back onto her back, silly thing. So she just lies there, kicking her legs and whinging. It'd be annoying if it wasn't so cute. :)
Queenie, any details yet? Weight? Length? Congratulations on your Auntyhood. I forgot to mention that my brother and his wife also had a baby girl last Monday so I am an aunty too.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Wow BB, that's a pretty new car in my books!! My Commodore is a 96' (vt) and so scratched from me scraping past it with the baby bag/chucking the keys on the roof etc... I'm a shocker! Anyway, congrats on the new wheels and well done with selling your maternity clothes- I just did the same thing!
Lots of love to Sheree, Wade and Lachie, what a frustrating, stressful time for you... :hugs:
Scout, I'm thinking of you..
Jo, I really hope it's all going well for you on the wards and that you're not struggling with the work/home balance.. Hopefully you're finding time in the day to de-stress a bit, however briefly, when you need to..
Cosmic, I liked hearing about Annabelle's attempts to make a getaway. And congrats on becoming an aunty too!
Queen- have any more details about your neice?! How is your sister managing?
Leisha- You were asking about the new style Peapods- I took some photos today of her in one and posted them in the Peapod thread- check them out to see if this new style is any different (if it's possible to tell)- I hav'nt had one to compare.
Carolyn, I just love your posts! lol.
Lee and Jake- Yay, TWO little toofs!! How cute!! (and how sore that sounds!)
Billy- good luck getting yourself and the house organised and hopefully you'll find the house you want and the timing will work out just fine! It's amazing though how these things just seem to work out right. :hugs:
Oh Cherrygirl... I hope that things are better today- good on you for venting and letting it all out :) Now to talk to G about how you feel! Choose a time when he's most receptive and see how you go. You might have already- I hope it went ok and he saw where you were coming from.
Marie-Jo: Not long now! Good on you for sticking it out like you have but omg I would be sooo frustrated!!
Guys, I've come so close to losing it with Ronan lately. Ok, I sit here and post while Ariene feeds and drifts off. I prepare for this time (15 mins is needed) by setting up Ronan with 'special' toys that only come out at this time, blocks, a DVD, hat/sunscreen and time outside... BUT HE STILL COMES UP TO THE DOORWAY AND SCREAMS TO WAKE UP ARIENE just as I am putting her down in her rocker... Her bedroom is next to his and he bashes on the door to wake her if she sleeps in there. He thinks that it's hilarious to wake her up and it makes me want to cry in frustration. Then strangle him. But mainly cry. :banghead: He has been doing this on and off all day. Can you tell? DH is sleeping because he was out last night (saw Little Birdy play, so wish I could have gone...) so he's not much use today. Grrrrr!!!!! Vent over!!

Good post, Tam. Lots of personals... how do you do it? Take notes? I'm going to have to start doing that!
Simply - I cheat! I never do things the hard way - I've learnt to make short cuts in everything I do :D!!! I always have 2 browsers open so I can start from the new posts since I last posted and go from there. I have to reread quickly (or read as I post) and do it from there. Make sense? My instructions usually suck!!
Congrats to Cosmic & Queenie - our newest Aunties - YAY! I'm never going to be an Aunty it seems :crying: - and I've got 2 bl00dy sisters!? Better have a 'chat' to them about it I think ...
BB - congrats on the new car and ebay selling. Great highchair bargain too! It's great to clear out some stuff, hey? I'm still getting thru my stuff - someone asked what I sold, really it's just stuff I've overspent on (don't tell DP) in that I bought stuff I shouldn't have as Ethan already has too much ... I've also sold some tupperware and maternity gear. I'm just going thru stuff that I need to clear and either donating it, giving it to friends, or if I think I can make a buck (hehe!) sell it! It could just about become a fulltime job atm with the amount of cr@p I have to clear out! Now I know why my house is so cramped!
Emma - :hugs: to you my dear. It's really tough with another one - they obviously don't have the concept of what sleep means and how much it means to us .... LOL. You are one tough cookie - I to am about to strangle Tayla. I just can't wait for the teenage years - I'm in the poo if they're anything like the 6 y/o stage (if there's such a one) :banghead: She had a friend sleep over last night and I reckon 75% of the time she spent crying and being a little sh!t! Oh, the joys!
And as for DH - I'd probably have strangled him too (I'm lacking in the patience dept of late!)
Cosmic - yep. Ethan's too doing that, but once again I've so got my grumpy pants on (must be PMS!), so it does become frustrating for me!
To step out of the grumpy pants for a minute Ethan finally decided he might be able to sit up this arvo. He can sit for probably 15 seconds but as his legs are still going one hundred mile an hour he ends up sliding or falling to one side. Won't be far off, I don't think - and it'll be great - another position I can put him in to make it interesting - he's so hard to keep entertained ATM. For instance he's now in his Hop N Pop and bored bored bored. What am I to do?!
Ok, sorry to probably bring everyone down with my grumpy pants, but I'll save you and go rescue the high fat, sugar and chocolate laden muffins from the oven. Why do they call them muffins - to me that gives you the impression they're at least slightly healthy?????!!!!

 I always seem to buy a muffin with my coffee..... instead of a cake!! Healthy mind healthy body.... perhaps!! ;)

Ok, sorry to probably bring everyone down with my grumpy pants, but I'll save you and go rescue the high fat, sugar and chocolate laden muffins from the oven. Why do they call them muffins - to me that gives you the impression they're at least slightly healthy?????!!!!
I know what you mean Tam! Everyone thinks that I'm some healthy-food obsessed mumma because snack food in this house usually only consists of Anzac biccies and I make them for playgroup (the mums all go "ooo, oat biscuits, how healthy!") but they're held together with a ton of butter, golden syrup and a cup of brown sugar, for cryin' out loud!
You shock me with the dramas of having a 6 year old- I am NOT prepared for that!!
Can I share with you guys something that really irks me around the forum at the moment? I'm sick of the ol' "I did it and I'm fine/my kids are fine/no-one died so therefore it's ok" argument. It gets applied to EVERY single situation (or so it seems!). Hmmm... yes, I may be spending a tad too much time on bubhub latley :o ...
Queen! What a great weight, and WELL DONE QUEENIE'S SIS!! Drug free! Way to go! Tell her that the girls from your May thread say congrats :D :yelclap:
You must be so proud.
hi everyone, we went away for the weekend. Left the boys at Mat's sisters and now if have farkin' mastitus (sp?) it was a special suprise arranged by Mat (the going away not the mastitus) and he even packed the booby pump BUT forgot one little bit so it didn't work. I spent half the supposed romantic getaway hand-squeezing my boob. Not funny now though, just painful.
I read the posts but to delirious to reply so  and :hugs: to everyone.

I have bought my first modern clothies so I should be receiving fluffy mail this week! I can't wait....is it normal to get this excited over nappies???
BB - Yay! You did well on E-bay! I want to sell a lot of stuff that I have and was always wondering if it was worth the effort or not??
How exciting about your new car! We are hanging out until March 07 here as we are getting a lease car from DF work, a holden Viva station wagon....i am not going to know what hit me, driving in a car that has all of its paint, no dings, and starts every time!
Tam - what is a hop and pop? I have seen you and someone else (can't remember who sorry) talk about it before and I have never heard of this! Oh and with the opening two browsers, I finally figured that out and that is why I am suddenly able to do so many personals!
Carolyn - re you clipping your DS nails after reading about the eye scratching, I now check Charli's nails every time she wakes up from a nap (just run my fingers over them to feel for sharp bits). A pit pedantic i know but I am so wary now, that was a major scare for me.
Cherrygirl - I hope you have been able to find the words to discuss how you are feeling with DH. You need all the support you can get in this "job" and if you are lucky enough to have a partner then they should have a major role in the parenting so that your kids know that you arn't on your own when it comes to the rules, there is someone to back you up. I don't have any advice just lots of :hugs: and time to listen if you ever need to chat.
Marie-Jo - Yay Lee for his first 2 teeth! Love the photo of him in his halloween suit!!!
Scout - Just wanted to send you some more :hugs: and I hope that you and Saxon are having a good week!
Sheree, Wade, and Lachie, I am sending you some :hugs: and thinking of you.....Thank you for the update Leisha
Queenie - You are so not a terrible mother! I think that you are one of the most informed people on this forum so......I don't know what my point is exatly but never think that you are not doing a fantastic job.....we all love you!
Cosmic - Yay, you are an Aunty too! Congratulations. My one and only sister who is 3 years older than me is going to start trying in the new year (she is getting married in Feb) and I am so excited to become an Aunty!!
Em - No advice on the whole Ronan waking Ariene thing, sorry! That must be so frustrating, and I hope that he either forgets about trying to wake her up (not likley huh) or you come up with some sort of solution
Lambie - How did the room swap go?
We had a fairly boring weekend here, didn't get up to much but Charli has started to get scared of things. ie I was at her Nanna's house and my mum's dog shook her head in front of her and she let out this high pitched squeal and looked at me like "Mum, come and get me NOW"!! Then over the last few days when our dog's bark suddnely and they are right near her she does the same thing. We pick her up and she hangs on to us so so tight! I know this is wrong but i think it is absolutley gorgeous. I make sure that I don't move her away from the dogs though and let her give them a pat so that she know's that it really isn't that scary!
Hello to anyone else that I have missed, hope you had a good weekend!

oh MEL your poor darlin', there's nothing worse... Are you seriously getting that ill? you sound like you have it pretty bad.. Are you on anti-b's? Or are you ok without them? Mastitis really scares me, is all. I have just come off 'Mastitis Alert' because of a blocked duct that was starting to become infected but I managed to get it to budge just in time. I have had it 4 times, twice in advanced stages. Take care of yourself and get others to take care of you as well! :hugs: And I'm sorry that it ruined your getaway- How rude!!

Hi mummies
Man has today been a nightmare!!!! Ryan has been an absolute pain in the butt (meant as nicely as it could possibly be!!) and climbing over the back of the lounge chair to get to the computer - he did somehting and then the computer just died!!!!
Anyway DH got home this morning and we were going over to his auntie's place to pick up his parents 4WD so we can start taking our stuff to our storage container, my car drove over there ok but I found it to be really sluggish on the way to bunnings and well when i went to put my foot on the brake....foot went straight to the floor.... that's right no brakes  i ended up stalling it so i wouldn't run into the car in front of me...
With all the money that I am going to have to shell out this week there is going to nil in my savings account that was looking ever so healthy for the first time in i don't know how long!!!
Sorry had to get that off the chest.....
Got an update from Sheree..... Here is what she wrote! Oh and before I forget... Any May Mummies living in Brisbane that is free over the next 3-4 days can you please PM me!!!!!
Ok back to Sheree's text message..... Lachie is still refusing bottle feeds so they are still tube feeding him - they are onto the 5th tube now as he keeps pulling them out (as any normaly baby will!). They were up the hospital for 4 hours last night, sheree stamping her feet for help and answers but noone will take them on as they want to get their paeds direction. They get the biopsy results in a few days. She appreciates all of you sending your wishes and hugs (I have been forwarding them on :D ). Yesterday was a very upsetting day as she is just having trouble seeing that glorious light at the end of the tunnel....
Mel - Sorry to hear about your Mastitis luvvie! Gee some romantic weekend hey... at least he tried and packed the pump!!! Most DH's wouldn't have even given that a thought! Hope you are feeling better real soon!
Billy - How is organising the house going??? Woohoo your first prospective buyer coming through tomorrow!! :smiliedance:
Cosmic - got your PM (thanks hun!) but can't reply right now but will do so soon!
Emma - Don't feel bad about losing it with Ronan.... I have really lost the plot with Ryan over the last day or two - i am just one stressed out mumma at the moment and with drew teething (and boy is he different to Ryan when he is teething!!!!) so i am not sleeping poor Ryan has to contend with a cranky mummy!! how did the staying in the bed/cot go??
Lambie - how has your weekend of renos going???
BB - A new car!!!! Oh i wish i could have a new car..... oh well my car will be just as good as new by the end of the week!!! And new clothes!!! I can't wait to go shopping for new clothes!
m2c - what MCN did you buy???
Jo - how is your mum doing?? when does she have her surgery?? Did you sort out your working hours??
Tam - good hint! What i do is multi quote posts and then reply that way! Only i didn't have time to do that tonight so I am going off my memory....
Auntie Queenie - you are definitely not a bad mum!!!!
Oh I am sure i am forgeting something.... my mind has that much stuff going through it at the moment and drew is due for a feed so must go!!!!

Mel - WOW! You lucky thing. How thoughtful is Mat. That's great - pity bout the bl00dy mastitus. Hope you get better soon. When I read your first part of the post, I was like, "oooooh, how sweet". Hope things are going better now?
Leisha - at least you'll have a car with brakes after forking out the cash - safety before savings, I s'pose. You're very lucky, could've been a lot worse . And LOL at your excitement - I use sposies, but I've seen some threads with VERY excited recipients of fluffy mail! You also did a great thread based on memory!
Wish I was in Brissy for Sheree ... love to catch up or help out if that's what she needs right now???
M2C - gorgeous and bright thread - very cute! Sonia and I both have Hop and Pops. It's like a walker, but doesn't have the wheels - has little activity type things bubs can play with. Our pokey-uppy things are bent over now as Ethan pulls and chews and sucks on them!!!(their purpose). It bounces up and down on a huge spring under the red bit at the front and the balls pop around in the dome part (very technical explanation!). It also has some very funky music for a babies toy!

They are selling at Toyworld for $89 atm (not sure if you have that store overeast) or some other place like Kmart, Target or Big W had them on special too, I think.
Emma - can't give you enough of these :hugs: for Ronans day! I won't offer anything as I'm needing help in that area atm too! I'm sure they're dramas limited to my female child only. She's a walking attitude bomb that explodes at the most unexpected moments. I'm sure you'll be right - I try to look at it that at least it keeps life interesting!!!

Hi
Just a quick check in. Bubs is still awake. I can't believe it. She hasn't been asleep since 3pm! Maybe she has insomnia just like her mumma.
DH and i had a really good chat this morning. He got what i was saying and agreed that he needs to take a bit more of a dominant role at home so i was satisfied with that. If he doesn't try i will just have to put him in time out:laughing: If he wants to act like one of the kids i'll treat him like one!
Congrats to the new aunties. Hope the new bubs are good for their mummies. My sister is due in Feb. She will make me an aunty for the 11th time. I was an aunty when i was 12.
Leisha - thanks for the info about sheree and fam. I'm thinking of them constantly. for the car trouble. Hope its not too expensive.
M2C - good going not nuturing the fear of the dog. I think you are handling that really well.
Sorry guys bubs crying. I'll be back tomorrow with more personals.

They certainly grow up quicker than we used to ... I must say though, it did make me giggle reading this :D.
I think now, if I had the choice I'd rather boys as there surely isn't as much "stuff" they have to go through as girls. Don't know - what does everyone else think???

can you girls let me know what your sleep time routine with bubs is. day and night? how do you get them to sleep? by themselves or holding? how long does it take? this is ridiculous now. i cant spend 2hrs getting Jake to sleep for 40mins  just some ideas so i can try a few different things out. ta
i know he is teething but this has been going on for months now.
Hi everyone,
Well Emily is still sleeping in our room. Jason and I had a very unexpected deep and meaningful conversation on Saturday regarding all the issues that are bothering us at the moment. I brought up my feelings about Em going into her own room and which room should be suitable. In the end we both agreed that she should still go into the room that we have already created for her, and we will start saving for a smaller a/c unit for her room. Now all we need to do is put a door on her room and she'll be in there by the end of the week. I have also made the heart-wrenching decision to return to work beginning of May 07 full-time (hopefully only working core-hours). This conversation was a long time coming, and I'm glad that it happened...like a weight has been lifted of our shoulders.
And for my B-day yesterday Jason and Em got me a $200 pamper package which includes a full body massge, facial, manicure and pedicure...I can't wait, 2.5 hours of babyfree bliss:smiliedance:
We had our 6month shots today...thankfully only 2, grizzle for about a min then it was all forgotten about:p
BB - On the whole sleeping routine thing, I follow Tizzie Halls routine which works a treat (did I send this to you?). And with the help of the Karitane Comfort Settling she tends to put herself to sleep...however, if this doesn't work and we have tried it for 30mins, I cheat and nurse her to sleep (wish I had given her a dummie now!).
Emma (Pookie) - that book sounds brilliant, will probably need to get one for myself, especially if Em turns out with her Mummy and Aunty's temperament. And on the "I did it and I'm fine/my kids are fine/no-one died so therefore it's ok" argument, I tend to steer well clear of these threads as I believe we all have different parenting styles and thus should not be judged/reprimanded for them.
Tam -

Queenie - congratulations on the arrrival of your niece. Hope your Sister is recovering well.
Carolyn - hope you had a better weekends sleep from Ryan after the mephaquin.
Billy - how did this weekend go...any news yet?
:hugs: Sheree and Scout
And before I forget, We visited a friend in hospital yesterday who had a little boy Thursday by emergency c-section. Because her bub was late he had been in care up until Saturday where they had tube and bottle fed him using EBM. Now, she is trying to establish breastfeeding but is having a problem with nipple confusion and is having to use a nipple shield. Her bub has also developed a bit of a lazy feeding habit and although attaches well, does not feed. Almost like he's waiting for it to just happen. Anyhow, while we were their she called in a mw to help and although it had been 4 1/2 hours since his last feed the mw said not to worry as it can be up to 6-8 hours between feeds. WTF, I was a litle bit shocked to say the least. I had to feed Em every 4 hours around the clock while in hospital.
Hi to everyone else, hope you had a great weekend:wave:

Sonia HUGE happybirthday wishes for yesterday!!!! (I knew there was someone elses coming up). What a lovely gift from Jason & Em - enjoy it! I hope Em has a big snooze for you this arvo after her shots ... Ethan's are tomorrow but I'm not worried (famous last words!) as he's been fine with all up till now. I'm glad you both got all your feelings and worries out in the air - my advice to you (as I'm sure you will anyway) .. just make the most of your time with Em and Jason now before you return to work.
BB - in regards to sleeping routines, I'm probably not the best to take advice from as I have 2 very good sleepers in general and I don't do a great deal. I've pretty much always put DD & DS down to sleep awake, DS has a dummy and now a comforter 'blankie' and pretty much self-settles. Today was a bit frustrating as I was washing his blankie and he grizzled and managed to wriggle all over the cot on different angles for over half an hour, but wasn't upset. He was tired but obviously wanted his blankie :crying: ... anyway as soon as the dryer beeped I grabbed blankie and gave it to him and he was off within 2 minutes.
In regards to sleep times, Ethan generally has 3 naps during the day still if we're at home (and manages 2 sometimes if we're out during the day) ranging between 40 minutes and 3 hours - just depending how tired he is. And night time is generally from 6.30/7pm till 6.30am (this morning though he slept in till 7.15am). He is such an active boy even though he's just rolling as he's forever kicking his legs and bouncing around, so I think it wears him out!
I really hope you find something that works for you both. :hugs: being sent your way!
Emma - I knew there was something else (thanx Sonia for your post...). In regards to the "I did it and I'm fine/my kids are fine/no-one died so therefore it's ok" argument"
(even though I may be guilty of 1 or 2 small iss-ewes :o), I'm lazy when it comes to debates and threads where I have to think too much! I'm here for a bit of fun, so I tend to steer clear of these sorts of threads - and like Son said, everyone has their own parenting styles, so I'm not here to judge ppl on them ... gosh, that doesn't even make sense???
BB, Annabelle is going through a catnapping phase this past week (after we just got her into decent day sleeps) so I know how exhausting it can be when they don't give you a minute to yourself. At the moment, she is only sleeping about 35-40min at a time during the day, and can be up for 3hrs in between sleeps.
Thankfully she goes to sleep pretty quickly though - as long as she is tired enough. If she's not looking like going to sleep within 5 - 10 minutes I get her up and try again later. I just don't have the patience to sit there with her and I'm afraid I just can't leave her on her own, even if she's not crying. :o
So my 'routine' is to wrap her, give her a dummy, play some music (same CD every time so she associates it with sleep), if she is having a bit of formula/EBM or booby, I give her that and if she's sleepy enough that will send her off, otherwise i just lay her down in her cot, awake, and pat her until she starts to doze off. Within 5 minutes she's usually asleep or almost there and I can tiptoe out of the room. If she's really overtired and crying, I make a judgement call about how badly I think she needs to sleep. Usually trying to get her to sleep makes her worse so I will bring her out for some more playtime and try again, unless I really think she NEEDS to sleep, ie if it's waaay past her sleep time. Having said that, she has been known to go 6+hrs in the afternoon and been fine.
Hi to everyone else - will be back later.
Not getting much time to myself of late, due to catnapping baby described above. :p

happybirthday Sonia. What a great present to get right now. Glad you and DH had a good talk. Its strange how hard it can be sometimes to schedual in those neccessary talks.
BB - Bronte is not sleeping well at the moment so we don't have a routine at all. I have never nursed or rocked my kids to sleep. Now that they're 6 months they are starting to think and understand so they start demanding things and know how to push our buttons. This is the age when i start letting bub see what i will stand for and what i won't. I only do this gently, of course. I just Say No Bronte and make sure she can see my facial expression. I can't help you with getting bub to sleep but i really do think how you handle difficulties now will set the precedent for the next few months.
Well bronte had a big bowl of potato and spinach from mums garden today. She loved it and no blotches:yelclap: but her strawberry patch did come up really bright red. So that has inspired me to get a veg garden going finally. It looks like Bronte is just going to be sensitive to everything. Last nights no sleep turned out to be a constipation problem so once we got rid of that she went off at about 1am.
:hugs: to all May Mummies.

Does that mean it's ok?" I'm not saying we should judge eachother; just that using the excuse 'someone else did it and they're fine' is a lazy way to justify any behaviour IMO. ;)
hi everyone, thanks for your well wishes for my booby! Its Ok now but i think it may have stuffed up my supply a bit. Luca has a tooth, the very edge of it has cut through the gum poor bub hasn't been to unhappy though.
Our sleep routine, well we don't have one, when he rubs his eyes he gets put in his hammock and he is either fast asleep in about 5 minutes or if he isn't then i get him up and try again in half an hour or so. Connor never had bedtimes or anything and now, he goes and puts on his pj's when he is tired and says 'so who's reading my story?' and goes and gets in bed. No fuss, its great!

That's great and oh so cute, Mel! DP gets the 'lucky' job of story telling every night. It's not often at all Tayla wants me there! She's also starting to read, so that's great for DP to spend some time with her doing 'school' stuff as it's usually me helping out.
In return I get the lucky wonderful job of stacking the dishwasher ... yeah, go figure??

thanks all for replying re: sleep
i know when he is tired, rubbing eyes, grizzling, tries to bury his head into my chest so we go in the room, same CD on nice quiet lullaby music, lamp is on very low at night, he gets wrapped up, little bit of cuddles and into the cot... well all hell breaks loose, crying, screaming, throwing himself about. if i try to settle and pick him up he is then throwing himself back and gets hysterical. if i leave him in the cot, and do a bit of patting and shhing he hates that just as much and gets himself so worked up that i then have to pick him up because he is so hot and sweaty and upset. he pretty much refuses a dummy. sometimes i just hold him till he goes to sleep and when i put him down he starts screaming again. i have tried the whole bath, relaxing massage before bed and it works fine until we go into the room and then he starts screaming. i dont know how to fix this. i cant leve him to cry it would drive me even more insane and make me feel even more horrible yet i cant hold him for his whole sleep either.:( i cant use a sling cause of my back, i have tried going for a walk and nothing, i have tried putting him in my bed and laying with him, he thinks its a game. i know there is always going to be bad days, weeks but this has been an ongoing problem.

i know when he is tired, rubbing eyes, grizzling, tries to bury his head into my chest so we go in the room, same CD on nice quiet lullaby music, lamp is on very low at night, he gets wrapped up, little bit of cuddles and into the cot... well all hell breaks loose, crying, screaming, throwing himself about. if i try to settle and pick him up he is then throwing himself back and gets hysterical. if i leave him in the cot, and do a bit of patting and shhing he hates that just as much and gets himself so worked up that i then have to pick him up because he is so hot and sweaty and upset. he pretty much refuses a dummy. sometimes i just hold him till he goes to sleep and when i put him down he starts screaming again. i have tried the whole bath, relaxing massage before bed and it works fine until we go into the room and then he starts screaming. i dont know how to fix this. i cant leve him to cry it would drive me even more insane and make me feel even more horrible yet i cant hold him for his whole sleep either.:( i cant use a sling cause of my back, i have tried going for a walk and nothing, i have tried putting him in my bed and laying with him, he thinks its a game. i know there is always going to be bad days, weeks but this has been an ongoing problem.
Hi BB
In your post you mention that everything is fine until you go into his room.... Has he always slept in "his" room?? If not (and assuming he slept in your room at first) have you tried setting up a cot in your room?? I know you have tried laying on your bed with him and he thinks that is a game....
Gee I am racking my brain for ya honey but i have been blessed with 2 excellent sleepers (even my sister is jealous as her 4 & 3yr old still don't sleep through the whole night!) and have never encounted that problem....
Maybe all i am good for is this.... :hugs: :hugs:
BB sorry I have no further advice just wanted to give you some :hugs: this sounds so hard hun... :hugs:
Wow I'm so tired and should be sleeping... LOL

I'm sitting here with agrizzly Ethan looking at me wanting to know why I'm not putting him to bed ... needles in 40 minutes and need to pick some formula up on the way so no sleep just yet, I'm afraid! He's attacking the keyboard as I type one handed, so here's his effort ...
/.' grverettttttrtffff5r ,mgbhyjnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnb
Ok, should run and take his mind of the lack of sleep and put him into overtired-overdrive mode :D
Have a good day (or arvo for most of you!) ...

Hi everybody!!!
I read all the posts but I'm too out of it to respond - sorry
Emma, Leisha, and Tam, I too am suffering from trying to handle my firstborn. Noah is waking Lachlan up too, thinking it's a game, climbing on EVERYTHING, and today it took me 3 hours to get him to go down for his nap. Grrrr he's driving me bonkas
Lachlan still isn't sleeping well through the night, and has been in our bed the last three nights for most of the night kicking me and grabing my face. So I'm tired
And I've been spending all my bubhub time making nappies :smiliedance: which is what I want to get back to doing but I just couldn't stay away I needed to read about all my friends :D and say hi!!
Also whats happening re the secret santa??
and :hugs: for all!!!!
Also whats happening re the secret santa??
I've given everyone to the 19th to respond, as some are away from the thread atm. So early the following week, you should all get your names and addresses. So far, the consensus has been for a $5 gift for Mum, however, there was a suggestion for a $5 gift for both Mum & Bub...now I'm confused:confused: , what does everyone think about this suggestion??
I say a $5 gift for mum. If there is to be any extra $5 gift, then it should be a $10 gift for mum. We deserve it!!! :p

:hugs: Em. No sleep for mumma's not good ...
I thought $5 for mum as we're the ones that seem to miss out all the time ...
How exciting ... considering it's only something like 48 (nighttime!) sleeps to go.
Well needles were fine again this morning. I did keep him up till 11am (he'd been awake since before 6.30am) as I was waiting to take our neighbour to the races so he was running late. I put Ethan down and 15 bl00dy minutes later the neighbour rocks up  so now Eth's now just rolling around in his cot on his 13 minutes sleep he's had in almost 6hours!
I can just see he'll be asleep when it's time to pick up Tayla and then we've got a birthday party straight after school Looks like not much sleep today for my little man.
Hmmmm .... talking of races, wonder how many bourbs or voddies (or whatever it is Bel drinks) she's had. The good ol' days hey
I hope you are coping Ok Emma, those bloody firstborns. I hear you sister. Re the swap, can we make it a homemade swap, I can't imagine finding anything worthwhile for $5 at the shops- pls give me suggestions if i'm wrong!
Luca won the Melbourne Cup sweep here, well at our next door neighbours who have massive party every year. It's great and I'm afraid to admit i've had a few to many Coopers right now. Cheap drunk these days!
I agree $5 is hard to work with... someone give me some creative suggestions. At least for $10 you can buy a cheap bottle of wine. And let's face it.. we're all pretty cheap drunks these days.
Hey Mel... how many Coopers can you get for 5 bucks. :D

:smiliedance: for Luca!!!
 you Coopers gals! I had a whole 3 Cruiser Ice's on Friday night over 2 hours and that was well and truly my limit!!!
I've got my idea sorted ... it's sort of homemade ... and I think it'd be a great idea!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIA sorry it is late!
Hey BB - Sorry it is a little late but here is what we do with Charli.
Generally we have figured out that during the day she will be awake for 1.5 hours and then nap for about 30 mins. We time how long she is up for and put her in her cot around the 1.5 hr mark as routinley as possible (which some days goes right out of the window. She usually only has 2 naps (sometimes 3) a day and then she is awake in the afternoon until bed time. I have to fight with her for around a hour if I want her to have a sleep generally after 2pm and it is never worth it. She ends up cranky and tired but will go to sleep for the night better if she goes straight through without the nap. As for what we do to settle her she generally will just play in her cot and then drift off covering her eyes. We have made her room as darkas possible during the day and have found that this made the difference between fighting her to sleep and her settling her self. Sorry prolly not too much help but :hugs: here this might!
Leisha - OMG that is so scary about your brakes!! re the cloth nappies that I have bought, swaddle bees. I can't wait to get them. If they go well I want to try gk's. Do you use those at all and if you do, would you reccomend them?
Tam - When you see coloured posts, it generally means I am rather bored. like tonight for example. Everything is done. I hate that in a way, I think I need a hobby! Gorgeous photo of Ethan on the Hop and Pop! We are off on the weekend to get Miss C a walker so we are going to check those out as well!
Cherrygirl - Glad to hear you had a good chat with DH and sorted some stuff out! You are an Aunty 11 times? I am so jealous. I will be lucky if I end up and Aunty of 1 or 2!
Sonia - we have our 6 month shots this Friday. I make DF go, I can't handle it. Not looking forward to it although Charli seems to handle them better than me  What a great pressie you got from Jason and Em! I reckon I could go a pamper package for my b-day in a month! Where will you be returning to work? How is Em sleeping this week? Charli seems to have settled back into her routine now. Still teething though, but not as bad it seems, more during the early arvo.
Hope everyone else is doing well, hope you had fun at the races Billy!

Hey Hay Mummas,
Now that we have found solids that B doesn't react too shes finally eating really well. :yelclap:
B is moving about really well now. She has a play thingamyjig that is a circle with raised puffy edges - kind of like a dogs bed with a little mobile that hangs over it and plays music - its hard to describe but they were on special at Target back in June - Anyhoo today i left her in it and when i came back to the room she was out of it! Gosh where did the baby months go?
In regards to me I'm going insane. I've had AF for 6 weeks out of the last 8 and i've had enough:mad:. I just can't continue being a slave to my hormones anymore and i need an even balance back. Still trying to figure out what to do.
Billy - Hope the house sale goes smoothly. Can't wait to see a pic of your races outfit.
Em - I can't imagine how hard it must be when the first born is still a bit young to reason with. I think the four year gap between mine makes things a bit easier. Hope you can get some sleep. If you can have the boys looked after for a couple of hours to get some sleep that would be good. Look after yourself:hugs: .
Tam - sounds like ethan got thrown well and truely out of wack today. Hope he slips right back into good sleep.
Leisha - Good on Luca - Lucky thing. DH won today as well. He got $180 - I haven't worked out how I'm going to spend it yet - lol.
M2C - I know what you mean about being bored when everythings done. Earlier tonight i was looking forward to DH and the kids going to bed so i could clean the kitchen. Its actually a really peaceful time for me. OMG its funny how things change from year to year.
I had forgotten about the secret santa. Some of us - OK Me - are not overly talented in the homemade department but willing to go with the flow.
OK I've been blabbing for ages.
Sweet dreams under moon beams sweet jellybeans:)

Hi All,
i am just popping in quickly to say hello. I will respond with personals hopefully tomorrow. We have had much better sleep over the weekend all much happuer
Well Done Luca on winning the cup, Ryan also won the sweapstakes today (TS65,000) or $65 in real money.
Our 2 room house in currently being extended but in slow motion, in four days they have managed to put the roof on. We are staying in the guest house on and off cause otherwise I try and get outside and there is a scaffold across the doorway.
Queenie - I am interested in the thread you posted re curtis biting, I am having the same issue and not appreciating it.

Re: Secret Santa, for obvious reasons I will not be participating, I am not sure where the nearest post office is!, have fun everyone else
Well done to the cup winners - Luca & Ryan
Tam - Hope Ethan had a good sleep for you, it's tough when they get beyond that really tired stage.
M2C - looks like you have the sleeping sorted out. Do you want to swap girls for a bit??lol
:hugs: Queenie - hope you slept well
Cherrygirl - they're growing up just way to quickly, you'll be chasing her around in no time. If you're still keen on the Secret Santa, just PM me your address:thumbsup: BTW - loved this
Sweet dreams under moon beams sweet jellybeans
Billy - did you have a good time at the races yesterday...you're not nursing a sore head today are you?
For those who are having problems with the "older child" :hugs: to you guys...SUPERMUMS!!!
I'll be back....
...Just had to rescue Em, she managed to get herself stuck between the surround sound speaker and sub...did I just miss her first crawl????
Carolyn - you'll need to PM us your email address, so we can send you virtual Christmas cards!
Now secret santa...okay this is it...the gifts will be for Mum, and can either be brought or handmade to the value of $10.
After reading through a few threads yesterday I decided to soften up Emily's cot mattress, as I have found that she sleeps really well on our bed, but not in her cot. So I folded a 100% woollen blanket that we have into 4 and lay this down under the protective cover and sheet. Well I'm not sure if it worked or not, as she went down from 7-10. I took her to bed to do the dreamfeed and ended up falling asleep with her on the boob. Woke up at 1:30 as she was stirring, tried to feed her back, I fell asleep as well. Woke up at 4:30am with her still attached to the boob, and me with a stiff neck from sleeping in the same position all night...:banghead:
I spoke to Sheree last night via txt, Lachie is better and more hydrated, he might have even put on a bit of weight. They are seeing the Dr this morning and it appears they maybe released today, although she would love another day. Hope you don't mind me passing this on Sheree;o)
Also, we are seeing Donna & Preston today, so will say hi from you all!
Oh and for those asking about me going back to work...it will be in April/May 07. I have Em booked into several daycares/early learning centres, so I hope one of them comes through for me. I am not looking forward to it, and just a teeny-weeny bit jealous of my sister who is a SAHM with her young 2 kids. Her DP does not want her to go back to work until they are both in school.

Hi Mummies!
Tam - OMG. that sounds so close when you say chrissie is only 48 night sleeps away  I am glad Ethan's needles went ok.... Drewster has his booked in for the 28th November.... Ryan is getting his chicken pox one at the same time so it will be a fun day for me.... NOT!!!! As for Bel - can't really tell you what she drinks but we both enjoy sharing
Cosmic - How did Annabelle go with the drops??
m2c - It was so scary with the brakes - bad enough just me in the car - even worse when I had the boys in the car with me!!!!! Ok MCN - I have had no experience (nor have I heard any feedback on) with Swaddlebees.... What I have heard is that you either love them or hate them... That said i think Mel (stellaj79) and Emma (pookies) have them... GKs - love them love them love them :yelclap: Be aware though it does take a little bit to get the stuffing right (we had a few wet leaks in the beginning) but after that - a great nappy to wear if you are going to shops for instance (as they don't tend to be bulky under clothes). So i guess you could say i would highly recommend GKs
Cherrygirl - I so hear you on the AF frustration!!! I had the Mirena put in on the 28th August, Af was due on the 11th Sept (which came on time) and well what is todays date....8th Nov - and I still bl00dy have it!!!!! :banghead: I did have the mirena taken out last week and started the pill on saturday so am hoping she will bugger off soon enough! The pharmacist said it should do in the next day or to and well it is tailing off if you know what i mean! Sorry girls for the TMI!
Lambie - So glad you got in contact with Sheree!!! Will you guys be meeting up?? Isn't it good news that Lachie looks to be doing better this week!!! I can understand why Sheree says she would rather another day in hospital... And Iam positive she wouldn't have minded you passing that on! Please say hi to Donna and Preston!
Africamum - Carolyn, totally agree with Son, PM us an email address so we can all send you virtual email chrissie greeting cards!!! No need for you to be left out!!!!
BB - How is Jake doing these days??
stellaj79 - Mel hope you had a good night wink wink Well done Luca!!!
Billy - hehe going from the fact that you have not been online since yesterday lunch time and that i haven't heard from you, you had a pretty good time at the races!!! lol Hope you head isn't to sore this morning honey! At least DH will be home in an hour or so to nurse you back to health.....
Well my boys are being so cute at the moment.... Ryan has no flies on him when it comes to doing things - he has been watching me burp Drew and well now when I put drew on the floor on his tummy ryan will sit down next to him and gently pat & rub his back to burp him! What is even funnier is that Drew will always give him a burp followed by a smile - it is so cute!!!
And I think Drew is going to crawl before he can roll...hmmm don't really know how that works but he is starting to shuffle on the floor and this morning when he was on the floor with Ryan he was really using his legs to push himself around!
It is really hard for me at the moment, feeling very very stressed! I am busy trying to get everything all packed for our big move next week and I feel like I am getting nowhere!!! With DH out at work for most of the week it is sort of left up to me to do the packing as well as look after the boys (Ryan & Drew are craving lots of attention at the moment and I will never deprive them of that!).... GRRRR where is the relocating fairy??? I was so spoilt when DH was in the RAAF - never had to do a thing when we were posted!!!
Well that is my whinge..... I am just about finished my shake (breakfast) so time for me to pull my finger out!
Hope you all have a good day!!!

I am not looking forward to it, and just a teeny-weeny bit jealous of my sister who is a SAHM with her young 2 kids. Her DP does not want her to go back to work until they are both in school.
:hugs: for you Sonia, it must be hard, but I must say some days I'm jealous of people who get to go to work
Sonia, I have Annabelle's name down at a few centres too and I also wonder how I will handle putting her into care but we have NO family here at all and I really want to do some study and/or part-time work next year. At the moment DH can look after her for the little bits of work I do, but even that is difficult with him travelling so much.
I just keep telling myself by the time the possibility of daycare comes up, she will be that much older and she'll probably love it. (I hope :o) My main worry about daycare at a young age is the sleeping issue.. I guess since that's the main issue I have had with her. I can't stand the thought that if she wasn't going to sleep she would be left to cry. But at the moment she goes to sleep really easily (erm.... wrapped, with dummy, music and patted... ) and I figure it will only get better as she gets older.
And you and I must have been reading the same threads yesterday, since I just put a cot doona underneath her for sleeping as well. I have been wondering why she suddenly only sleeps for 40min during the day and suddenly realised that it coincides with moving her out of the snugglebed. D'oh! Why hadn't I realised that? I think because it started in Adelaide and we basically just stopped using the snugglebed when we got home since it seemed like a good time to make the transition.
So fingers crossed :fingerscrossed: softening up her bed will make a difference. At least she is sleeping heaps better at night still. One day she'll do good day sleeps AND night sleep surely....
Hey Leisha, I missed your post.
And I forgot to say (along with everything else I forget to say :o) that must have been SO scary when the brakes failed. I sometimes have visions of that happening since we have an old bomby car and it freaks me out.
The drops I think might have done the job. DH said she did a huge pasty and very smelly poo yesterday (HAHA he hardly ever changes nappies so it's sweet justice that he got that one :D). I have still been getting mainly solid poos from her... but I am starting to think this is actually pretty normal for a baby who is on solids and a bit of formula..???
I talked to a girl down at the shop yesterday who had a bub same age as ours (born 28 April) and she was saying that her bub also does small, firm poos all day long. I looked up in Babylove and she says only to worry about constipation if the poos are rock hard and dry. Well, Annabelle's are still soft and squish, they are just very solid and well formed like.. um... play-dough or something. And that's normal, right??
So I am laying off the drops now, but I did give her some more diluted prune juice this morning.
Boy, the things we talk about when we become a mother, eh?

Tam - OMG too I can't believe how close Xmas is, that means our trip is close too, I should be excited but I'm kind of scared
Queen - biting? I'll have to check that one out
AF problems you poor things, I agree it's bad enough for a week let alone weeks.
BB we don't really have a routine here, except at night, we do bath and then a top up feed, and then bed usually 7 - 7:30 pm. I don't wrap Lachlan. He wakes up at about 10 - 10:30 pm and then has a feed and goes back to sleep. He self settles usually, although lately he's liked being rocked to sleep, which is strange because he usually pushes me away. Anyway he is not sleeping through again yet, he spent another night in our bed from 3am. He had a three hour sleep in his swing yesterday afternoon which was great, I just wish he would do it in his cot, but I supose sleep is sleep

HI Mummies
Firstly can i say - Billy - how did you get so skinny? And can i use the term "yummy mummy" without sounding weird  You look beautiful.
Ok now my whinge again... is all i seem to do these days. Jakes sleeping or lack of is frusturating the **** out of me. In the last 2 weeks i have had one night where he has slept for about 7 hours and thats cause he didnt sleep all day. our Usaul routine at night is... he goes to bed at 7-8PM, wakes for a feed at 11-12, wakes at 2.30-3.30AM and stays awake. this morning he went back to bed at 8am and slept for 40mins. i am so physically and emotionally exhausted its too much. i have other **** going on as well but my vent is in another section. (thanks to the girls who posted with support).
Well Jakes neurosurgeon appointment has been pushed back another 2 weeks, im so dissapointed and concerned as his head is getting worse. i called the nurse this morning and described what it looked like and she suggested that i go and get and x-ray and ultrasound so i am off to the doctors shortly. Will post personals when i get back.
i have to apologise because my last couple of posts have just been a big whinge and me,me,me :o im stuck in a rut at the moment and not getting much support but i apologise for the depressing posts :crying: .

Oh I also wanted to say Leisha don't worry about the chicken pox vax, apparently it is the most gentle of all, Noah didn't have any side affects, not even drowsy. It was the best one for us  The way they do it isn't nice though it's under the skin instead of in the flesh, a bit wierd but I try not to look anyway
BBs :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
i have to apologise because my last couple of posts have just been a big whinge and me,me,me :o im stuck in a rut at the moment and not getting much support but i apologise for the depressing posts :crying: .
BB, you don't have to apologise and I'm SO sorry you are having such a tough time at the moment. I just read your other thread and FWIW, I wouldn't put up with that **** from a 19yo either. My brother went through a similar phase and was told in no uncertain terms that he wasn't welcome in our house (my parents house that is) unless he showed respect for everyone else who lived there. At 19, he is an adult and can fend for himself. Letting him off the hook is just teaching him it's ok to have no respect for anyone else.
And bloody sleep issues are **** and I can totally relate.. except I don't think I've had it anywhere near as bad as you. I sooo hope it gets sorted out soon. Not to mention your poor little man must be a tad sleep deprived too?? Is he tired and grumpy a lot of the time? I have just put Annabelle back to bed after only being up for 45 minutes  because it was so obvious she needed more sleep.. grumpy little bugger.
Good luck with the doc and the x-rays etc. I'll send you lots of vibes for some good sleep, a good result with the x-ray and a kick up the butt for your step-son. ;)

BB - :hugs: to you. Please don't apologise - this is what we are here for. To SUPPORT those that need it WHENEVER they need. I too have read your other thread and you so don't need that on top of Jake's issues. I really hope that things start to turn around for you all. **sending heaps of sleepy vibes your way**. I really hope everything's ok with with x-ray and ultrasound.
Cosmic - :fingerscrossed: the doona works for A's sleeping.
and Son, ... try not to stress too much about daycare (hard I know), but when the time comes I'm sure she'll totally love it and if she is anything like Tayla was, I dropped her off, she looked at me and said bye and ran off. Her first day of daycare and was only 1!!!
Emma - I agree with the work and home thing. When I was working I was jealous of those mummies at home, and some days at home I think, why oh why did I resign? It's all about finding a happy medium that works for you and your family ... one day I'm sure I'll find it ...
Billy - so glad you had a great time. How dare you look soooo good ((SLAP SLAP)) - only jokes. As BB said, what a Yummy Mummy. Glad you had a great time and still woke up feeling fab!
Leisha - YAY for Drew getting so close to crawling. He's probably watching Ryan and wanting to be up and about with him! Also, as Em said, kids we know that have had the vax came through with flying colours. Not half as bad as other imm's. So cute with Ryan mimmicking you! Tayla's exactly the same!
Sonia - GL for the childcare placements. I can't believe how hard it is to get a place overeast and in Perth here. Pretty much when we need a permanent position, I just need to let Tayla's old centre know, and because the boss and carers loved her so much, they'll take Ethan at the drop of a hat and because we previously used them. If we see any of the girls out anywhere, they're forever asking when he's going to be 'theirs'? HAHA! (probably wrong though for those on a waiting list though ...). Hope you didn't miss Em's first crawl, but if you did you'll see plenty of it real soon!
Sheree - you probably won't read this, but I have been thinking of you and glad Sonia's message she has passed on is a positive one for you guys. Thinking of you and hoping things improve even more.
Have a great arvo all!
Tam xx

Sonia and Cosmic re the childcare thing. In my suberb we now have four childcare centres all within walking distance and all have heaps of spaces, don't know what they were thinking. But I agree with Tam they will probably love it and have a bawl. They do fun stuff there that you don't always have the time and energy for at home

Tayla had her first assembly today at school and the 4pre-primary classes hosted it. Their class did "the wheels on the bus" and she dressed up as a Mum on the bus! She also had a speaking part in front of the whole school thanking the Principal for his speech and introducing their act. So cute! :D

We went to the Health Nurse this morning and got ALL his measurements. We think she - nurse - made an error last time cause if she didn't, he's only put on 160gms in 7 weeks  ... anyway,
at 5 days shy of 6 months, he's 8kgs exactly, 69.5cm long and has a head circ of 44cm.
He's certainly not my 'little' baby anymore :crying:

Tam - that picture is of the thingamyjig i was talking about. I still can't believe B got out of it. I also can't believe you got my wierd description of it - add jibberish translator to your resume.
Carolyn - Good luck with the house extension - just keep your eye on the prize - it will be so nice to have more space, its just hard living through all the work. My house is always in the middle of some kind of renovation. I don't hold out much hope though. I knew MIL and FIL for 6 years before they had flooring down. Thats the trouble with having builder husbands.
Sonia - I will PM you after this post. Thanks for the news on Sheree. And in regards to daycare if you can plan on going back to work just after bub turns 1 then she won't be in the babies room. When i put G into daycare i fought the centre to put her into the age group above babies because giorg was a really active 10month old - walking etc. I was worried that spending all of her days with babies a few months younger would take her backwards rather than forwards.
Leisha - you have the mirena and i have the implanon - same thing different places. I'm having mine out ASAP. Good luck packing. Just make sure you have a special box for the things the kids freak out without so you don't have to unpack everything looking for a blankie.
Cosmic and Sonia - goodluck with the softer bedding - Both of my girls have slept on the same lambs wool that i did when i was a bub so they have always had nice soft cots. I don't really know if that helps them sleep but i think it would be cosy.
Em - why are you scared about the trip?
Billy - you looked beautiful. No baby belly left huh - Want some of mine:laughing:
BB - we're here for you anytime. You really need to find a way to get some sleep ASAP. Its amazing how much harder everything is to deal with when you're tired. Let us know how the docs goes. :hugs: for u.
Leisha and em - we chose not to give G the chicken pox shot so of course she got them two weeks before we went to America. I remember gently picking off the last scab so i could pass it off as a mozzie bite so they would let us fly - A bit naughty.
Tam - don't they start slowing down with weight gain about now seeing as they move about so much? Or could be they weighed him with a nappy on. Thats a good weight anyway. I agree - where did our babies go? Anyone feeling clucky yet??:p
Sounds like tayla did a good job. Its good if shes not too shy.
OK Hope i got everyone. G and DH are at the Hi-5 concert right now and bubs asleep and we are going to my ma and pa's for dinner so I'm going to do a face mask and put my feet up:yelclap:
Oh I nearly forgot. Today i read an article in my Mag and it said that sleeping with the light on or having several late nights a week suppresses Melatonin - a hormone key to regulating sleep cycles. I just thought that could interest some of you who are having sleepy problems.

Hi All
Good see BH getting festive! :xmas:
LM - good luck moving over the weekend! We move on monday....... Ahhhhhhhhh
Mel - loved the picutre of Luca's nappy with his name on it! (I can't remember if i saw it here or in another thread but it was so cute!)
BB - Drew has his checkup today with the paed about his flat head.... Hope Jake sees his doctor soon!
Cherrygirl - I am lucky that both boys are not attached to anything like that! As long as Ryan has a pillow he is happy to go to sleep!
Well poor Sheree is really struggling.... Lachie has finally been discharged from Brissie hospital only to get back home, start power vomitting again so last night he was admitted back into Bundaberg hospital! Over the last week or so it looks like he has lost 240g - and believe me he didn't exactly have that spare to lose!!!!!
Well I gotta run - just wanted to give you all an update!
Hope you all have a good weekend! :hugs:

Also thank you everyone for the lovely comments on my race day outfit!! :o :D
Rhianna had her 6 month needles yesterday- and she was so much better this time!! Mind you I went to my old GP as my new-ish one is off having a bubba, and they blow bubbles straight after the needles to distract them! It was so funny R seemed to just LOVE them!!
Had her weighed and measured and she is 8.750 kgs, 73 cms long and 46 cm HC!! What a chubba bubba LOL...
BB I hope your sleeping issues are sorting themselves out, and that your DH's 'child' has begun acting like a respectful adult... :fingerscrossed: And you NEVER have to apologise for posting here!! May mummies are all very supportive and we want to help in any way we can :hugs:
Good luck Leisha and Lillasmummy for the moving... I will hopefully be joining you soon!! Open house tomorrow...

Hi Everyone,
Firstly I will start by saying I have not read all the old posts so apologies to anyone if I have missed anything momentous.
Sheree - I am praying for you that things improve with your little darling very very soon.
Billy - Rhianna sounds lovely and healthy. Hannah had her needles yesterday as well. She had a little cold last week so we held it off for a week. She was a little off last night but seems to be a bit better today. She is now 7.675kg, 68.5cm and 43.5HC. Are you and your DH tall as RHianna is off the scale for her height:yelclap: I always wanted to be really tall growing up, I was 168cm tall in year 7(12years) and then never grew another cm.
Nothing overly exciting happening in our neck of the woods hence why I haven't posted. Grace had some gastro problem and was in hospital 3 times last week so that has kept us all busy. She seems to be back to normal now though. We started Hannah on solids a few weeks back and I fogot how priceless those facial expressions are:laughing: She really loves pear and pumpkin (not together of course.)
I am off to Rainbow Beach to see the parents for a week tomorrow with the girls so am really looking forward to it. Such a lovely break for me when we go there. I hope everyone else is doing well and your bubs are sleeping/feeding well for you.
Take care
P

I will hopefully be joining you soon!! Open house tomorrow...
Billy - Your house is beautiful! I am positive you won't have any problems selling it - I am so confident that you better go and put those bottles of Moscato on ice!! Good luck for the Open House tomorrow
Paula - Hope you have a nice relaxing time at Rainbow Beach visiting your folks!
Well I am not sure of Drews length as she didn't measure him but he now weighs 8.1kgs - my growing bubba!
As for the flat head she is a little concerned (but in the next breath tells me not to stress.... WTF  ) the some sutures have fussed early in his scull (you are going to have to forgive me - this is really hard to explain in writing!) making his head short in AP diameter (basically not allowing the head to grow outwards .... If you look at drew from the front you wouldn't think there was anything wrong however from the side or back you can see the back of his head is completely flat).
So he is off to have a CT scan next monday (the day I am meant to be moving! At least DH will still be able to do it - he is going to ask some guys from work to help him). She did say that sometimes kids just have an abnormal head shape and that once they grow hair it doesn't appear that obvious.... However if these sutures have fused already then he will need to have surgery (  ) to correct as if it isn't corrected his brain has nowhere to grow....
But in closing she did say that developmentally he is coming along fine!
Oh and just a little message (a bubhub Private Message) to you all - you have mail! :smiliedance:

Hi Mummas,
Just a quick check in.
Hope everyone is doing well.
:hugs: for Sheree. I feel so bad for you guys and hope it all gets sorted soon.
:hugs: as well for Scout if you're dropping into read posts every now and then.
Not too much to report from this end. B is really getting into the solids and finally starting to develop a routine. G is getting older everyday and i feel like we're starting to talk to each other instead of argue (lol. sounds like I'm talking about a peer not a 4.5year old)
DH is away this weekend so looking forward to some girly time with the princesses. So spare a thought for me on Saturday because i will be stuck here in High School Musical Karaoke (sp.) Land.:smiliedance:

Jake is the same. front on his head is fine but from the side its soooo out of shape. we have xray and ultrasound next thursday and then neurosurgeon 2wks after that. i dont even want to say the S word. Did they mention to you that it is uncomfortable or painful?? i had just got off the phone from Karitane after trying to put jake to sleep:rolleyes: for the last 2 hrs and was just asking them the same question but they really didnt know. Am wondering if this is why we have sleep issues ?? Please keep us updated and let us know how you go on Monday please. :fingerscrossed: that it will work itself out.

I have had some extended family issues this week so have not been around as much as usual.....On my news Miss Charli is just amazing. I don't know how much more I can love my little girl but it just grows and grows for her every single day. She is back into her routine and a very happy baby. I have no idea what I did to deserve her but she really is the light of our lives. She had her 6 month needles today, let out a cry for 5 second for the 1st and a 15 second cry for the 2nd. I was more worried than her. I always send Mark in.......Someone said to me in the waiting room "so Dad is the brave one huh" I said " huh, I don't think so I delivered her" bah boom ching..... She then said "yeah fair enough......I am going to use that"
Okay on to personals
Sonia - OMG did you miss the first crawl or not? that is so exciting? Yep Miss C has transformed back into  mode. I hope Em is getting better, how goes it on the sleeping with her at the moment? I stopped sending you sleepy vibes when they didn't work any more!
Cosmic - I know this is a bit late to reply to but - re the play dough poo thing, Charli's sometimes come out in a wedge, moulded to her bum cheeks (which are so so cute, not the poo, just the cheeks) and I was also thinking, am I feeding her the wrong things??? But it seems that only pumpkin comes out sloppy (TMI sorry) so have cut back to pumpkin only once a week to try and stay away from sloppy land!
Billy - Well....yummy mummy indeed! You looked fab and I am glad that you had a great time, and arn't mummy's great for looking after them! We are going out twice in a row on the 21st and 22nd to Pearl Jam and I would post some pics but there is no way I will look anything like that! never mind, we can't all be gorgeous like you!
BB - If you only ever posted about yourself I would still read and care about you!!! I have just read about the 19yo as well and OMG you are so strong and amazing to deal with everything you are going through all at once. If I lived anywhere near you I would be there in a heart beat giving you a big hug and any help that I could. I will always be here for you, even if it is just for you to vent. I never have good advice (yep I admit it) but countless people have told me that I have the most un-judgemental (that is so not a word) ear that they have ever known.
Tam - That must of been so cute to watch (Tayla's assembly) What scares me is that it feels like yesterday that I was the one on the stage with my parents watching me......ha ha
Cherrygirl - I was clucky the moment I saw Charli.....I said to the midwife when she asked "so when will you be back" ..."as soon as I can". We are still trying......I can't believe that my baby is 6 months old....when we look in on her when her Daddy comes home (11:30pm) we look at each other and just say wow - what happened she looks so grown up.....not a baby anymore.......
Mel - those photos just make me want to get into cloth even more! I can't wait for my swaddle bees to arrive! I am hunting for a cherubs kiss or honey boy and I don't care how long i have to wait
LM - good luck with the moving! Hope all went well. I just love your Avatar!
Leisha - Yay Drew for rollling !! Charli is still not rolling but will sit on her own for over 2 mins!!!!! Thank you again for organising something for Sheree......I think that is so beautiful of you..... big big hugs to you.......
Gracesmum - I don't think I have seen you on this thread before, and I joined quite late so  to you and Grace and Hannah (ohhh and DH) I hope I get to know you!
Queenie - Last but not least - I actually look for you in all threads to see what you have posted. You make so much sense to me and I enjoy reading your posts! I hope that you are well and enjoying being an Aunt!
Anyone that I have missed.......big hugs to you
I hope that all May Mummies have a good week ahead of them and I am thinking of you all the time!
Charli says hello!!!

OMG:eek: I have been missing in action for a little while and have come back to a lockdown and another thread! Have I got lots of catching up to do! New emoticons too, how cute.
I hope you guys don't mind be dropping in after all this time, we have been away twice and things have just been all over the place really. Poor little Abbey is sick now too.....never a dull moment. I must go and get some sleep but will be back tomorrow:wave:
Hi everyone:wave:
M2C - Do you know what?!? Since the "Devine Miss Em" (see she's back in my good books:p ) had her 6 month shots, she has been a completely different baby and is sleeping really well. In fact her erratic sleeping patterns all started not long after her 4 month lot.
Billy - what happened...did'nt you give birth 6 months ago? Where's your baby pouch??? BTW - glad you had such a good time.
Sheree - :hugs: hun, Lachie is so lucky to have such a strong Mummy.
Mel -
.Does anyone else think my baby looks like Kyle Sandilands? Too funny, Luca's better looking for sure!
Paula - enjoy your break away, hope you get the chance to put your feet up.
Cherrygirl -
And in regards to daycare if you can plan on going back to work just after bub turns 1 then she won't be in the babies room. When i put G into daycare i fought the centre to put her into the age group above babies because giorg was a really active 10month old - walking etc. I was worried that spending all of her days with babies a few months younger would take her backwards rather than forwards. thanks for this advice. After mentioning this to DH, he also agrees, so work permitting I will be returning back to full-time work in May 07 (providing that Em has placement if course).
Well on Wednesday I met up with Donna and the adorable Preston, to see a movie and have lunch. She is doing really well, even though Preston is still having a tough time with his teething. She is still having problems with her PC and cannot log in, but is still reading the posts when she can.
Ok now, who was it that has reversed the carseats? I so much want to, as Em is straining her neck in order to look around at us and her legs are getting to long. Only problem is that she only weighs 6kgs, so it's going to take forever for her to reach the 8-9kgs that they recommend. She has such good head and neck control, would I be naughty if I changed it?
Also, on the poo thing...I have to say I prefer the solid squishy poos, as they are soo much easier to clean. But yes, they did take me by surprise the first time I came across them.
Hi to everyone else, hope you have a really good weekend and get some much needed rest.
P.S. - before I forget...Leisha, thank you for organising something for Sheree. YOU ROCK;o)!!
Trish, :hugs: for Abbey, :fingerscrossed: she gets better real soon.

Lambie - I totally agree with that. In fact i even remember thinking the same thing with G when she was a bub.
