I have started a new business selling candles... and I was wondering if anyone out there could think of ways to get mums into it?

Advertising wise I have done letter drops and everything, and yet I have a lot of mummies involved, I still want to get some more.

Any ideas on how I could go about that?

The business is free and that is a main selling point I believe... but to get that out into the community, (as mention in a previous post) people believe they are pyramid schemes!!!

It is a pain in the bum!

Let me know if you have any ideas?
I am thoroughly enjoying it!!!!

See if you can advertise at your local early childhood health clinic there are bound to be heaps of mummy's that go through there every week :)

isn't it annoying that people are so naive about MLM companies and Party Plan being pyramids. Do they think that Amway etc would be around this long if they were??!!

You could do a short presentation at play groups, kindergym, baby groups, etc. Where else do mum's hang out.

There are always pin up boards at supermarkets.

Are there any kids clothes shops that would let you put a flyer on the counter or in the window?

Good luck with your business.

Multi-level marketing is exactly a pyramid scheme. I actually joined Amway many years ago and it was very easy to see the success of the early starters vs the people who joined so much later. The fact of how the reward schemes work by building a large group below you, and a larger group below them etc. A pyramid.

I'm not saying that you shoud avoid such a program if you believe in it - but simply enter it with eyes wide open...

Have you told people one on one thats always a good way to promote your business. Also are you part of a playgroup, thats also a good way to spread the word! :D Posting your business on shop fronts in your area might be another way to go. Or put it in the community notice board in your area which is usually at your local library. Even putting it in your local paper. These are just some ideas, i dont know if it would help you or not.

Thanks hun!

Those ideas are great! I mean, I have tried the letter drop thing- but I find that to every 100 drops I do I am getting 3 callers!

Which to me is pretty good-

I would love to be able to cover a bigger area!

I was considering getting some kids to do letter drops for me too- or other mums.. but I dont know how to go about doing that either- any suggestions?

Thats ok, why do you get your friends or family to help you drop them around. Do you know anyone in your local area that knows other people that can help? Sorry im not much help with this. I tried to do an ironing thing and i did 200 pamplets by hand! I only got 2 callers from it, they say its pretty average to get 1 person to every 100 pamplets. Best of luck with your business! ;)
