My DD is 6 months old - HATES being on her stomach - and when I lie her on her back she will roll from back to side and stay that way, but is yet to actually roll completely over onto her stomach.

Normal or not?

PS. Yeah I know all babies are different etc, but I just want to make sure she's not REALLY behind the rest of ya's hehehe lol

PPS. She's not a big baby or anything, she stands (supported) really steadily and she sits on her own with minimal support. Its just the rolling thing she hasn't quite conquered!!

Thanks for your opinions & stories in advance!!

your daughter is totally normal, you'll probably find that one day she will just do it and then you'll be wishing she wasn't rolling and staying still lol, cause she'll be on the move

p.s my DS2 only rolled one way by 5.5mths old, and the other way at 6mths old, he wasn't showing any signs of doing it, and just all of a sudden done it

Whew! Cool, I guess I just have to keep my eye on her so hopefully she doesn't start rolling down the hallway one day or something hehe

totally normal! My DS rolled first at 5 months and then didnt do it again till 7 months - One night i put him on the floor and he just started rolling EVERYWHERE and from that day didnt stop!!! I remember being worried if it was normal as well but they will get there eventually! Even if she doesnt continuously roll all the time I wouldnt be worried either. As for the tummy time thing aswell....i wouldnt be that worried about it if she doesnt like it. Just try her every now and again but dont force her. Have you tried rolling a towel up and putting it under her?

Once DS rolled - he rolled around for months and the next thing is you worry when they are going to crawl lol. I was such a worry wart. DS rolled where ever he wanted to go and had no interest in crawling! He didnt crawl till 10 months either but the day he crawled he pulled himself up. He is now just over 1 and has been walking behind things and along furniture for weeks. They all get there in the long run i guess thats all you have to remember!

We have skipped that milestone.......DD did it once from front to back, but never again. Still (she has just started crawling) if I lay her on her back, she will just lay there and not even move and chuck a tanty if left too long!! If I lay her on her tummy she will get up on hands and knees. Ususally she gets to crawling position from sitting up, which she has been doing from six months.
