Just wondering how you guess relieve stress? At the moment I've had a bit of stress in my life and would really love to find something to relax a bit away from the kids.
Swimming seems to be the most appealing to me at the moment, but it's just so hard to do it as my DH works long hours and no where near me has child minding.
Any suggestions?

~ I come on bubhub
~ I read
~ I have discovered scrapbooking! it has been worth the trouble of trying to get out of the house for a few hrs to go to my scrapbooking class, if I cant make it, I try to do an hr or so at night when the kids are in bed.
~ My bible study group. Obviously a bible study group may not be the answer for you, but I just find getting together with an awesome group of woman once a week (we all take turns running a creche for the kids) so refreshing and encouraging, we dont just do our bible study, we chat about all aspects of our lives and get together to do other fun things as well, and because we are all mums, we are always mindful of making sure things are either child friendly or take turns in watching the kids.

Tickle - the pools at Chandler and the one at Yeronga both have childminding on weekday mornings to my knowledge. Not incredibly close to you but could be worth checking out!

I am not great on advice of what to do childfree as I don't get a lot of that either - but reading a book is great for taking my mind off things. I also have regular massage when I can arrange childcare - have a great place to recommend if you need it!

Will watch this with interest as I always need new ideas.

I also read when DS is asleep, but my time is my morning walk. I get up early so I can fit it in before DH goes to work. DH dresses and feed DS b'fast, so I can walk, then come home and have my breakfast and coffee.

I feel much more peaceful when I get my walk in each morning. :D

Hey Ellen,

With only one little one and a full-time job, I find that he is my stress relief from work.:o

That said, I also do make the most of my daily walks - just to clear my head if nothing else.

some people find physical activity to be a great relaxer. my mum is one of them and she must be very stressed because she looks fantastic!
i'm personally a bit lazy so arty stuff relaxes me, like my photography. plus i get DS involved cos hes usually the centre of my art work :)
i also do a bit of yoga at night time when DS is asleep followed by a nice hot bath

oooh oooh tickle .. I have started swimming .. about 15 mintutes from me.. let me know if you ever want to join me :D I go at night times (so DH is home with Jack) - 4 nights a week there is aqua-aerobics .. which is a full on effort .. but I ALWAYS feel better afterwards ... I was DEFINATELY looking for a lap swim buddy if you are keen (on a saturday or something???)

Oh veve yes please!:D
I'll PM you.

T, I considered Chandler, but it is just that bit too far away. I actually did some research and the Zest at Springwood has child minding and a 50m pool, so I'll check them out tomorrow.

I think it will be easier when my DH's work settles down, eventually. Keep the suggestions coming they're great.

To de-stress I do pilates, go for a walk, get a facial/massage/mani/pedi or curl up on the couch with a mag and a cuppa coffee:thumbsup:
