teeth

I have been think about when my little man gets teeth and this started me thinking about how other prem bubs go.

My little man is 1 on wednesday 9 months corrected and still hasn't got teeth. not hat i'm worried but i was wanting to know how many others ended up having problems with their teeth and how soon after getting the teeth did the problems start and if and when did you take them to a dentist. what dentist are good with little kids. what can be done with bad prem teeth?

When i say problems i mean like chalky teeth or any problem due to being so prem.

Zach is 4 and has never had any problems with his teeth, he got them all on track for his birth age first one came through at about 6-7 months. by 2 he had 16 and by 3 he had all of them.

I've never heard of prems having teeth problems.... zach was 9 weeks prem, I'm guessing you mean earlier than that tho!

Well Blair was 3 months early but yeah i have heard to problems with teeth in prem kids. chalky teeth mostly and needing lots of care with a dentist.

just really wanted to know some more from others.

My two were born at 31w and although Taea got her teeth on track Bailey didn't get his first tooth at 11mths (9mths corrected). We were starting to think that he would never get them:p Having said that once he cut the first 1 it was like opening the floodgates. He now has 6 at 13mths (11mths corrected)

I have heard that some meds given to really early prems can affect their baby teeth - you would need to check with your paed or neonatologist
