Must be tough. I think my butt alone weighs 69kgs :p
Sorry, back to being serious:
Are you talking about over-the-counter stuff or prescription? Because if the weight gain is caused by the implanon, you might find that you end up spending lots of money on weight-loss stuff and don't get anywhere. I'd go back to the doc who did the implanon and get some advice there.

If you're after Fat Blaster again I think it might be still available. You can get it from here anyway. http://www.chemistaustralia.com.au/products/fat-blaster-tablets-60.html
are prescription ones more costly?
Just curious... has anyone tried the new tablets.. "xenical" ??

I was on ....... oh I can't remember the name of it, it's a dexamphetamine, oh someone will know the name of the one I mean - and this was about 3 years ago and it cost me $70 for a month's worth. Plus it made me jittery, etc. But I needed to lose weight, and it worked in that respect. Duromine, that's it. It's called Duromine - but the doctor only agreed to prescribe it because my BMI was disgustingly high.
And, quite obviously, it doesn't actually teach good habits, because once I stopped taking them I put the weight back on eventually.

Did you have any nasty side effects.. just did a google and came up with this:
Duromine may make you feel more awake than usual. You may have trouble sleeping.
Duromine can have some effects on the heart. You may notice your heart seems to beat faster and harder, and your blood pressure may be raised slightly. Other side effects you may notice include irregular heart beats, chest pain, feeling restless, feelings of extreme happiness followed by depression and tiredness, nervous, tremor (shaking), headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation, stomach cramps, dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth, difficulty passing urine, skin rashes, impotence and changes in sexual drive, swelling of the face.
I know someone who used Duromine and after they stopped taking it they put on twice as much weight

i went on duromine for a month.. helped i lost about 5kg but it kept me awake all nite every nite .... and i kinda felt "high" all the time.... it was very weird...
in the end i came to the conclusion i would finish my family babymaking off... and then lose weight the old fashioned way , eating well and excersizing...

Duromine is basically speed, and yeah I got lots of those symptoms you mentioned, Jem.
Sadly, exercise is the only real way to lose weight and tone your body.
LOL just read my post back - why did I say "sadly" at the beginning of that sentence!!?? I'm such a lazy bum!!!!
I had a mate, who was around the 130kg mark..
she tried so many diets, and weight watchers, etc..
i saw her last week, and she is the same weight as i am now,... blew me out of the water completely
She said she doesnt even do any excercise.. she went to the doc, and he did some tests, and told her what she should and shouldnt eat...
Does anyone know what this test is? and how much it costs?
oh gee that doesnt sound good
Duromine takes away your appetite, so when you stop taking them you start eating again.

Jem - what you described about your friend (my quote thingy doesn't work for some reason) sounds like what they do at Sure Slim, which is apparently a bit costly but they have payment plans, and really the benefit of knowing which foods to eat, specifically for your body type, is priceless isn't it.
I haven't tried Sure Slim yet because I just know, something deep down inside me tells me, that they would order me to stop eating chocolate.
Just can't do that, sorry :p

I paid about $800  for the SureSlim diet. You need to be very dedicated but the good news is its a diet you can take with you for life and it will always work. Its a 3 meal a day diet only which meant I got really hungry. I done it for about 5 days and lost 3.5kgs then I went out that night and got really drunk and oops.. had HJ's for lunch the next day. Trying to get back on it was near on impossible it started making me feel not well like I was starving myself. Its like any diet thought - I guess you get used to it.
More diet stuff.......
I went to the doctors a while ago and got a prescription for Reductil. It cost me $120 I think for a month and it made me feel really yukky. Hot and cold sweats, heart went crazy it wasn't that great. I only lasted only a couple of days doing this.
Now I am doing Lite and Easy and have been for a few weeks. Have lost 7kgs so far so I'm half way to my goal and loving it. I did have last a break last week though but I've learnt what my body can handle and what makes me put on weight in an instant (think chocolate :( ). I think this is my turning point.
I am quite embarrassed to admit how much I have spent on diets. Diets are really costly and alot of the time are a huge waste of money. If you're like me I'd spend anything to be a size 8 again but I know its kinda stupid cos you've still gotta maintain it. I hope you find success with what you're looking for.

Just curious... has anyone tried the new tablets.. "xenical" ??
Hey Jem,
I work in a pharmacy and ALOT of customers are on it now. I have asked a few how its going and ive had nothing but good feedback on it.
BUT... Its is not cheap nor is it a miracle cure.
You do have to still eat right and by saying that it doesnt mean you cant have any chocolate just occassionally and smaller quantities.
If you dont go to a healthier diet you will most like suffer diahorrea (sp?) as what it does it flushes all the bad stuff from your body. So to avoid that try to eat as healthy as possible.
Also if your on any medications, dont take them at the same time as it will just flush that out too... So take them at different times of the day.
Its not a dramatic weight loss at first, you should expect to lose 500g to 1kg a week. I think if you eat right and do a little exercise you could make it a greater loss each week.
The cost is roughly (depending on what chemist you go to) $69.95 for two week supply and $119.00 for four weeks.
There are some other precautions as in if you have diabetes etc so its best to ask your pharmacist questions if you have any.
Heres the link if you want to have a look http://www.xenical.com/
Hope this helps!
I still think eating good and excercising is the most helathiest way to lose weight AND maintain it.
Oh and yes you can still get Fat Blaster...they just went through a stage of new packaging so it was off for a little bit :)
Love Nat xx

I was prescribed duromine and lasted less than 4 days on it, i couldn't stop vomiting and ended up in hospital after seeing 3 different doctors.... at the 3rd dr's surgery, i couldn't even sit up, i was so weak, i honestly thought i was going to die, my stomach had the WORST cramps in my life as well... then FINALLY another dr said to me ""do you know that duromine is a legal version of speed""? WTF!!! no wonder i felt awake and ""high"".. and sick.
and yes, i lost 5 kg's because of the constant vomiting. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY.:eek:
I tried duromine years ago to. It's nasty stuff. My heart was racing so bad I swear I had a 4 day long panic attack. I couldn't sleep and I truly couldn't function. My boss at the time said get off them or else, so I did.
I've tried nearly every diet over the years and the only one I found that worked and kept the weight off was Lite and Easy. Every other one I put weight back on and often more than I'd lost. Dieting sucks :(
I am not in favor of using weight loss tablets.
They have a lot of side effects for health. You should adopt any natural way for losing your weight such as exercises or dieting foods.

Capsiplex Slimming Pills - capsiplex.com (http://track.moreniche.com/hit.php?w=168081&s=178) I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.
I have experienced the same side effect with the other diet tablets in the market. The weight loss is undeniable but the side effect was more than I can handle. I have recently come across a product called Prescopodene. It helped me shift my stubborn weight, the extra weight I packed when I got pregnant. I've been taking this product for almost 3 months now and I am almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight.:smiliedance: Best thing of all, I didn't feel any side effects. You might want to give it a try too.
