My daughter is 18 months old and still has a bottle 3 times a day amd goes to sleep with it too. Any ideas on how to ween her off?
i am trying to get wil (16 months) off the bottle and dummy too. he only has the dummy to go to sleep and has 2 bottles a day. wil is on normal cows milk and has about 200mls a time from a bottle but only about 30mls from a cup...i have heard that they don't need that much milk at this age and you can give them cheese, yoghurt etc so they get enough calcium. the only reason we still use a bottle is to get him off to sleep so i am looking for some advice on how to get toddlers to sleep without using bottles (and without using controlled crying!)

Hey wilsmum
Sorry can't help with the bottle weaning, but ideas for getting toddlers to sleep...
well, it's tough.
Felix (18 months) sometimes breastfeeds to sleep, sometimes I dance him to sleep in a sling, sometimes he crashes out in the car...
But whenever I leave him with mum he just lies down and goes by himself. I'm not sure whether that's because he's totally exhausted or what. But he never does it for me!
Probably doesn't help you at all, but just to let you know you're not alone
