We did have problems settling our DD initially but have sorted this out. Up until last sat she was eating once every 4 hours and usually can sleep for 5 to 6 hours at night. She was very easy to settle and both DH and I thought the baby is finally getting used to our environment.

However all of the sudden hitting the 6 weeks mark, she comes very hard to settle. We tried everything and she is only have max 2-3 hours sleep at night, during the day she is only catnapping, and always wants to be cuddled. And tonight she wants to be fed once every 2-3 hours... I am wondering if our DD has hit the 6 weeks growth spurts or unsettled phase?? Or we have done something wrong? We have not changed our routine at all and don't think she is sick.

That sounds like my little girl - only she's always been like that. I'd LOVE to get 5hrs sleep a night lol

Lol....I must be lucky! On good nights we even get 6 hours of sleep but that only happened once or twice. Usually 5 hours. I feed at midnight then she is usually up after 5am. But tonight she was up at 3 then 5:30... And she didn't sleep much during the day.

You arent doing anything wrong, she probably is going through a growth spurt and is more aware of you not being with her. My DD slept really well til 3 months, and has woke hourly since. They change all the time, just give lots of snuggles, make sure she is warm and things will change again before you know it.

Sounds exactly like my DD. we had just started to get five hour blocks and I remember one night she woke at 11, 2, 4, 6, and 8. The week later we went back to three hours then gradually four. We were at one wake up a night (with a couple of random sleep thoughs) and then we hit 12 week growth spurt and she went back to twice for a few nights. We now have one wakeup or she sleeps through! Hoping your little one is the same :) my DD is 14 weeks today

So I guess this is normal. I am so exhausted..... I used to get my sleep from 1-3 now i am not even having that. She was doing a 12,2,5,7 problem was so wouldn't go back to sleep after the feed. Not sure what to do, I don't even think I have the energy to cook today for the family.

growth spurts can be a nightmare, during the 6th week, my ds#2 had a day of nothing but screaming and feeding with very little sleep... like he had double the amount of feeds...it was insane. i think i cried the whole time too!

Could be a wonder week. First one is between 4.5-6.5 weeks after full term birth (works on due dates not birth dates). Google and read up..quite interesting! There's also an app for 99c

I went through that when she was 3.5 weeks. I didn't know it will come again so soon.

She is back to normal tonight now I wonder if it was something I ate that passed to my milk that made her unsettled? I ate some sashimi and wasabi, not sure if that caused the problem.
