One daytime sleep

Just wondering when other people's bubs started having one day sleep? Is 8.5 months too early? I think I saw another thread about this somewhere but I can't seem to find it, so if someone knows where it is I'll just read that.

Cool name! Anyway - I dont think there is any right or wrong amount of sleep for bubs.... from what I can see and have read on bub hub - the best thing to do is to go by your bubs cues and tired signs.. My DS is 8 months (today!:) and is still having 2 sleeps a day - sometimes 3 - but is VERY active in his time awake. All bubs are different - this probably does not help - but I think thats the general concensus (sp?)

We were still having 2 daytime sleeps at 8 months. We dropped to 1 at around 1 year old. Depends on the bub though.

I think it depends on the bub. Nathan was about 18mnths when he dropped back to one sleep a day.

My DS refuses to sleep during the day and ill be lucky to get him down for one. He is almost 7 months and he has been doing that for a while. Also i think the reason why he doesnt sleep during the day is because he sleeps through the night. Does your bub sleep through the night? If so, maybe that's why he isnt. I wouldnt worry too much, if your bub is happy and healthy then i wouldnt worry. Like us adults, babies are different too and have different habits.

Yeah all bubs are different. He could be going through growth spurts or teething aswell, my little one (who is 7 months this week) has been having about 1-1.5 hours during the day, but only in about half hour spurts. It's only been the last could of days and a dramatic change from his usual. He normally sleeps for about 2-3 hours twice a day then is in bed by 7:30pm and wakes at 6:30am.
His cheeks are very red and he's had nappy rash as well, so I'm guessing he's teething - and the weather, it's been quite warm lately.
