Hi Duck

obviously I'm not a dad, but I'm married to one!
There are a lot of challenges for both parents during pregnancy, and especially after... without knowing your specific questions it's hard to answer.

Here are a couple of links to discussions about fathers coping with new babies, and the role that dad's play in families.

They are from another forum that I visit, where quite a few dads join in the discussions.

hope that helps somewhat

Hi Duck (love the nickname)
I'm Karena I responded to your intro post. I have just had my Dh look at your post and told me to tell you "good luck and do whatever she says". Hope that helps!!!!!! :D Just remember that your wife's body is doing what comes naturally and even us women are scared about becoming a parent. One thing that really helped us was whenever we felt worried about something we voiced it to the other. This helped to share the worry and we could talk it through.
Keep us posted on how you are going and I'll try to get Dh to respond to your posts.

Ok then, I'll ask a question,

hows that tooth going??? what do u findthe best for teething trouble, in the way of pain easing??
I found the womens and childrens gum paint to be the best, I even use it sometimes if I have gum trouble.

And to the others that are making fun of the blonde.... talk to me for something to do, or even to have a laugh.

Hey Prawn,

You could have come down the road to ask me that but I will humour you and reply....

That damn tooth still hasn't surfaced, I can see it right under the skin, but that's where it's staying.. So he has yucky squishy poo poo and cries all the time. Wanna babysit?! :p

There, that should keep you happy for a bit,

See ya later dude :D

Have you tried the Brauers Teething Relief Trace? Eloise loves it - I've had hardly any trouble with her teeth - she's got 8 now - the top two either side came through the other day. We've gone through about 2 bottles of the Brauers, it's unreal. Amcal up at the Woolies complex sell it, its about $15 for the large bottle. Best of all is you can use it in conjunction with Panadol/Nurafen because its all herbal.

There must be something in the water in Murray Bridge cause you've all gone mad. Mad I tell ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Milkshake I agree with Rach the teething relief is the best baby product I was recommended. Harry got his first two teeth together and apart from a couple of wake ups in the middle of the night (to which I topped him back up of the relief) he has cruised through teething (touch wood) so far.

My experience of this forum is for all to share and support- mums and dads. I'm sure you have read some postings by women on our personal experiences (emotional AND physical) of pregnancy/birth/mothering. It is interesting to read how the other sex deals with this amazing and stressful time. It may help us or our partners and if it does this then this site has been successful.

I am about to get engaged to a filipino women whom a single mother of two children. I have fallen deeply in love with her after meeting her in Cairns, she came to meet me on a visitors visa, now its my turn.
But I will expect to lose my self control again, though I prefer to wait till after we get married, but we are trying to organise her going on some type of contreception. she is 32, very healthy, but which option is safest; the daily pill or the 3 month needle. How safe and reliable are they for the first month, as she has never ever used any types of contreception at all before. I have heard stories that the pill is only 50% safe in the first month, and have not heard any stories about the needle or the capsule injected under the skin.
My step daughters tell me they work, but is the injection 100% safe in the first month.
Can anyone tell me please

I don't think you need to be slammed Smash by us women, you just about explained it like my husband does and you have described it well. We are all individuals and deal with it differently and your wife is lucky to have someone who is understanding (or trying to) of what she is going through. I know I was glad to have a very caring loving husband during my pregnancies (yep still have him 19 years today!) It's also nice to hear a man's point of view on pregnancy :)
