Hi Girls,
I was just doing a search on gas pains in pregnancy and came across the old thread posted by Jen13 about the problem. I'm about 6 weeks pg and I have been suffering pretty severe gas pains for about 1.5wks, for an hour or so each night. I get some mild gas gains throughout the day occasionally as well. Two of the Dr's I seen didn't seem too concerned about it, they said its not really common but nothing to be alarmed about. I've had an early scan to confirm bub has implanted in the right place.
I see a few firls commented on it, I was just wondering if you still suffer it, or has it gone away? Degas seems to help a bit.

Hi!
I'm Jen13! *raises hand*!..
I have to say my gas problems seemed to have gone away. They were with me for a few weeks then thankfully went away. I took the De-Gas, and I would have been lost without it! It was great stuff for getting rid of the gas pains!...
I have also tried to avoid things that could give me the gas pains again, like some choc coated liquorice!
I would love to be able to get rid of this back pain tho!... It really sucks!

yep mine went away aswell
i suffered until about 11 weeks and then it seemed to dissappear, sometimes i get it now but nowhere near as bad as before.
Like Jen said De-Gas is great stuff i probably would have gone mad without it.

Hi,
I am due a bit earlier than you, but I have had the gas pains pretty much all through my pregnancy. It can be worse depending on what I eat, eggs are not too good for it but I love them.
I get symptoms like irritable bowel syndrome, but it has improved alot compared to the first few months.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks girls,
good to know it at least eases off a bit! Nasty stuff. I love(d) broccoli, but learnt the hard way its off the menu for now!! I also find if I have a good lunch, and just yogurt or something light for dinner that helps a bit too. It certainly helps to know you girls have experienced this as well, i don't worry so much that something is really wrong.
Keep well!

I get these gas pains which the doc told me is a form of colic.
Sometimes my gas pains are so unbearable I have to go into the fetal position and lie down.
I have IBS, so its normal for me, but I have to admit, I have only had 1 episode in this 14 weeks so far of colic.
Best thing for me is 4 extra strength mylantas, a heat pack, a bottle of dry ginger ale, lie down with heat pack after taking the mylantas and sip on the ginger ale.
Goodluck and I know it really hurts.

Thanks for your advice too Mikeswifey,
Last night was the worst I've had with it so far, it persisted almost all night on and off. I'll be armed with dry ginger ale and mylantas as well tonight. The heat pack is good too. Degas seems to take the edge off, but not get rid of it for much longer than 2 hours. :( What I wouldn't give for a good night's sleep!
