Stupid question I know

I was wondering what all the other mums do to stop the clip and straps on the car seat from getting hot.
I had my son out and about today - he was only wearing a nappy and when I went to put him in the seat it was boiling.
Some advice would be great.

I have a white piece of material I drape over the whole baby car seat when we get out. They get so hot don't they. Goodness knows why they're such dark colours :(

My car seat i bought has material bits that cover the straps of the car seat and the silver clips i bought these plastic things from babies galore that just fit over them...very thick plastic cover which works great..

you know when u buy like an appliance like iron etc and before u can plug it in the wall it has those plastic bits covered the spokes?? well its the same as that...

After my nephew getting a burn on his leg at around 4 months from a hot clip my sister and BIL place a reflective windscreen cover over the seat when it is hot . Never had a problem since. they have always been cool.this is what i will be doing.
