Hi, me and my DD are new to formula - she takes 100ml in one go but seems to get hungry about an hour later. I was just wondering how long a made up bottle of formula lasts. I make up 150ml and was wondering whether I could give her the 50ml 1/2 an hour to an hour after the feed? Do I need to put it in the fridge and reheat or can I just leave it out?

How old is your DD ?
You can't re-use or re-heat formula after it's been sitting for a while. So you'll need to make up another 50mls.
 We're new to formula too!
My mchn told me to only keep it for an hour after its been heated up and half drunk.... It's annoying isn't it? Mitchell does it often, so I end up wasting quite a bit. I tried putting 1/4 of his feed into another bottle before heating it up and then offering it to him later, but it turned out to be a real pain, so I've gone back to wasting:yes:

When DD was very young I used to make her formula up in a jug which I kept closed in the back of the fridge. It was easy to add a bit more to her bottle then if she wanted it. The jug has to be cleaned and sterilised daily, the same as you would the bottles.

Thanks. I might try putting 50ml in another bottle, refrigerating it and heating separately when needed. DD is almost 6months. I want to FF during the day and BF in the morning and night.
With the water, once boiled and cooled, do I need to put it in the fridge or is it ok to keep out covered until I use it?

You don't need to keep the boiled water refrigerated. Just make sure it's in a covered container/jug.

I was always told half an hour. I know I wouldn't drink milk an hour after it got taken out of the fridge, so I wouldn't give it to my kids.
