Hi my name is Sarah, and I'm currently studying the Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery at Curtin University. As part of the course I am to complete a component called the Continuity of Care Experience.
Briefly, I will need to follow women who are 35 weeks or under throughout the antenatal and postnatal periods. This will include attending any doctors appointments, education sessions etc. Attending the birth also is desirable, but optional.
I will be supervised by my participants' midwife/doctor at all times.
All information will be kept confidential and you would be free to withdraw from the process at any time for any reason.
If you are interested please contact me and I will provide you with more detailed information to help you decide whether this is something you would like to participate in, and I will answer any questions.
I anticipate that the personal one-on-one experience gained during this process will be one of the most important parts of my midwifery training. Past participants have found the experience highly rewarding for themselves.
