Hello Fiona,
No, you're not the only one! :)
My husband and I moved to Darwin about two months ago. Recently we found out that we are expecting. Would be great to have some company as well!
Cheers,

Hi,
I am currently expecting number 2 and I have just got back into this sort of thing.
I am sending this website to all my mother's group friends from last time so hopefully we can get an online mothers group happening.
Maybe some of you other Darwin/Palmerston/Rural mum's can do the same.
Can't wait to hear from you all.

Hi !!
I was in darwin but not anymore :/
I went a 'playgroup' there called MOPS (meet other parents) if you ring your local health centre they will give you more info, I think Palmerston have one but the one I went to was at Casuarina on a Thursday?! I dont remember (my memory is going)
It was such a great way to get out, they normally go for coffee afterwards too.
Cant say I was a fan of living up there ( im a melbourne girl) but the girls at MOPS made it soooo much better... Really nice ppl.. Go check it out!!!

Hi Guys
DH has a great opportunity which would involve us moving to Darwin. What is the cost of living like up there? Cost of housing? Anything else helpful you could tell me? Thanks!

Just pm me if you want to chat also.
I have been up here for over 30 years ,even went through cyclone Tracy. Basically, it is a little more expensive and don't expect to get the same quality fruit and veg that you are used to. Pay is generally higher and daycare is hard to get if you need it in an instance. My boy has been on a waiting list since I was 5 months pg and still looking at another year to get into that particular one. A bit hard to go through it all on here so if there is anything particular you are after again just pm me.
Hello, I became a member of this website some time ago but never had the time to actually get on or post any replies. I have just moved from Townsville to Darwin 2 weeks ago as my husband got a great job up here.
I am 21 and DH is 22, I am pregnant with baby number 1 "Frog" as we call it. Frog is due on the 15th September so I am about 25 weeks pregnant.
I would love to talk to other people from Darwin about everything, it is all so new to me. I would love to know which obsetirican other people are using and if they are going public or private. I would love to know about what there is to do in Darwin etc. I am finding it hard as I am used to working and meeting people but now I have no job and find I spend most of my time at home.
Well better get going now

I live in Humpty Doo (50 km outside of Darwin city for those that are new to the region). I'm 28 and have an 11wk old daughter Raleigh. I'm in the RAAF but am on maternity leave until 31st October. I'd love to chat with any new mums or mums to be. Its a bit lonely out here :) as all of my family is in Townsville (I've been here for 8 years now) as I grew up there.
Hi Madvoice
There doesn't seem to be many people in the Darwin area that use this website. Anyway as said above I have just recently moved here from Townsville myself. I think we have been here about 1 month now. Still trying to get used to being away from family and that. My husband was in the army in Townsville but discharged in May.
I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with baby number 1. I really miss the support of my family as I have always lived close by. There is just my husband and I up here.
Send me a message if you want to chat sometime.
Tamara :)
