View Full Version : Reversable Pram Handles - who has one??
Hi
Just wanting some opinions on how you manage with a pram that has no reversable handle??
I currently have a pram/stroller on layby, and have just checked it more closely and the handle does not reverse. I noticed in the shop that most handles these days do not reverse so bubs can face you.
Does it bother you that bubs cant face you/you cant change it around if in the sun etc??
The pram I had with my other two had a reversable handle and I just took it for granted it was the norm.
I am thinking of swapping it for one that reverses. Can I have opinions on how important it is to you??
(Sorry, I have that late preg brain, where you start stressing about everything!! :o )
Thanks,
Kellie

My pram is a reversable one & I think they are fantastic! So if you are walking in the direction of the sun facing bubs you can just spin them around and the sun's out of their eyes ;) plus when bubs is facing you, you get to see what they are up to!
I have an Emmaljunga that you need to take the top off and turn around to reverse it.
Have often thought one that has a handle go either way would be easier.
I did like having Hugh face me but now he likes to look out at the world.
I have the Swallow Voyager Pram (got it from Babyco closing down sale so it was a bargain $100), and one of the features that was a deciding factor for us in buying was the reversible handles.
For at least the first 6mths I had DD facing me and even now we still reverse it at times, depending on sun etc. I just couldn't imagine doing without it. I guess if the pram you have picked has every other feature you want then the handlest may not be as important to you. Good luck!
I HAVE to have reverse handle its soo much easier(ok its a bit hard to steer) just be sure that the handle is sturdy when reversed(out of ALL the reverse handle prams i tried in target I only found one that was sturdy the rest wobbled heaps). now prams are coming out with reversable seats instead so its a bit easier to steer.
DD is 2 and its good that if she is facing the sun I can just turn her around.
Thanks guys!!
I think I'm definitley gonna change it over.
I thought it was just me holding on the the 'good old days' and not embracing all these 'modern' 3 wheelers out there!! Honestly, with some of the new things out there, you'd think it had been 16 years since I had my first, not 6!!! :D

We have a Peg Perego Venezia (we bought it for DS) and it has reversible handles. It was one of the most important things for me when we were pram shopping. The best thing about this particular pram is that both the front or rear wheels can be locked straight. This means it's as easy to steer backwards as forwards.
For us, the handles and the wheels were definitely the most important things. And of course that it would suit newborn.

I had one with my DD and purchased a new pram when DS was born and I'm so not happy with it as it doesn't have a reversable handle. For all the reasons mentioned I'd give anything to change the pram if I was you!

The handle issue was one of the most important issues for me, given the research I read on verbal development.
I've just found it wonderful specifically with a newborn to be able to see, talk and sing:o to my baby girl.
I've found it just great, and wouldn't have it any other way.

While I've been happy with my pram (a Valco Runabout Deluxe), if I "knew then what I know now" I would have bought a pram with a reversible handle.
(out of ALL the reverse handle prams i tried in target I only found one that was sturdy the rest wobbled heaps).
I got mine from Target...they had 3 or 4 with reverse handles and all the others were wobbly...I got the Childcare one. DD is 11mths now and we haven't had a prob with the pram at all. After having a pram that didn't have reverse handles when DS was a bub, I definatly prefer the one I have now

I have a steelcraft acclaim with reversable handles and I love it
i have the Childcare one also and reverse handles was on the top of my list as a want - to be able to have the bub facing me, to keep out of the sun when outside - just more practical really! go for it!

Hey I found a pram that I absolutley loved and it had every single thing I wanted on a pram except reverse handle. After some umming and ahhing I decided top get it and see how it went and I couldnt be happier!!
I can still see bub as it has a sun shade/canopy thing that folds out from the top but you can push it to the bottom of the pram making it like a little open top car. Which is good for when hes awake and I want to look at him and talk to him etc. I also found that the car capsule I have fits into my pram so it was easy enough to get him straight out of the car and put the capsule in the pram facing me.
If you have found a pram you really like I say go with it cause you can always find ways around things.
Im so glad I didnt not get mine because it didnt have the reverse handle! Love it.
 I do I love it!!!
i have a emma too. but we have a cerox, so i only swish the handle around- and voila- i have changed to direction!
sooo easy. i can change in a matter of seconds and bubby just sits there and looks at me, probably thinking "what is she doing now...:)!"
love them, love them, love them!!!!
good luck

I have been determined from the beginning to get a reversible handle pram but can't decide which one. At the moment, it's a toss-up between the Steelcraft Ebony or the Peg Perego Venezia but they are pretty far apart in price, can anyone recommend either?
We have determined that the reason there are so few reversibles is because the three-wheelers can't have reversible handles otherwise the two big wheels will be in the front:thumbsdown:

We initially bought the Peg Perego Venezia. We had to return it when DD was about 2 months old. It was absolutely ridiculous over any sort of rocky ground. If all you're going to use it for is walking on perfectly straight and even ground, then go for it - it is a very well designed pram! But the fact that it has very small, and solid rubber wheels, means that it has absolutley no ability to cushion any sort of impact. We live on acreage and were unable to go for a walk around our property, up our dirt road, even in town because the town we live in is quite old and the footpaths go everywhere.
Make sure you give it a good going over before you buy! I wish I had!

I love my pram. It has reversable handles as well as the seat itself being reversable. It was a huge selling point for me, makes it quick and easy if you want bub to face the other way.
