Jacob was 9 in September, Brooke will be 8 in December and Matthew is almost 2.5 going on 32.
I'm trying to toilet train him ATM so that I don't have to do it in winter with a newborn around. Not having much luck though!!!

I have a nearly 3 year old that will be 3 on the 12th of November, and he thinks he's going on 30 some days!.. We are in for some very testing times at the moment....

So much fun isn't it. :( Matthew is going through this stage where if he is doing something naughty and you tell him off, he will say "ha ha ha ha" and then blow a raspberry at you.
But that is as bad as his terrible 2's are ATM. Hopefully it wont get any worse.

Jeanette, I just have constant bad behaviour from this child of mine. Today is no exception, he just does naughty stuff he knows he shouldn't and so gets sent to his room for time out everytime... He has spent a good majority of the day in his room today.. Just refuses to listen or behave..And it seems to be getting worse now before its getting any better....! I have found my patience level is slipping a hell of alot, I wonder if that is pregnancy related??? All I can say is that I just cant wait til Friday... That is Childcare day.. The only day I get any peace here!!

I have found that my patience level is rock bottom ATM, has been for the last month. I am putting mine down to the pregnancy, I am just so tired and worn out and not in the mood for any BS from anyone. The kids have been whingy and cranky since they got home, Matthews had no sleep all day so I've been yelling pretty much all afternoon.
Have you tried using the naughty corner technique? Seems to work well on Matthew.

I have a 12 year old and a 10 year old.
My 12 year old in going into hormonal changes etc and its driving me bonkers:banghead:
I have no patience either so it must be a pregnancy thing, some days can be a real struggle

Jeanette,
I am not sure about how the naughty corner technique is used. Do you have any tips? Is there a website for that?.. If you could please tell me that would be great!
Thanks,
Jen.

I used the naughty chair, its a chair that stands somewhere where there are no tempations of toys, or anything else, and if naughty, they get a warning, I tell them nicely not to do it, or else they will go on the naughty chair, if they do it again, they sit on the naughty chair for as many minutes as they are old, after that, they have to say sorry to me, or whoever they were nasty towards, if they dont say sorry, they stay on the chair for another length of minutes per age... it has worked great with my son.

Yeah, what nuddle said (I just pmed you about it too, lol). Hasn't worked that well on my older two, but I still use it. I think I left it too late for them, lol. (Where was the supernanny back in 1998 when I needed her??)

Jen13, my son Charlie will be turning 2 on the 12th November!! Are you having a party for him??
People often ask of the "ideal" age gap between siblings, but I believe that every age presents different issues .. For the mum's who have had more than 2 kids, what is your experience??
I am also trying to toilet train Charlie atm - he is not too interested, but hoping for it to take effect over the summer months!

I have 15mths between Jacob and Brooke, and 5.5yrs because Brooke and Matthew. I definately prefer the 15mth gap, it was so much easier.
I am still unsure on how the next age gap will go, I think it will be really hard with 1 going through the terrible 2's and a newborn to deal with.
As for the toilet training thing, Matthew isn't at ALL interested, so I'm not exactly pushing the issue. Just letting him roam naked when he is at home and hoping it will click.

Charlie's Mumma,
Wow, isnt that a co-incidence! My little boy was 3 days late, his due date was the 9th, but he decided he wasnt ready to come out as yet til the 12th!
Yes we are having a 3rd Birthday party BBQ for our little boy, just close family will be attending!.. It ends up being a long day for them and they are ready to go to bed a little after lunch, I know my son will still be looking for bed around then!...

My age gaps are: 1&2= 19 months
2 & 3= 11 months
3 & 4 = 2 years minus one day
and this gap will be 4 years, 1month
THE GAP BETWEEN MY 1ST AND MY 4TH WAS YEARS, 3 MONTHS, OMG, I HAD 4 KIDS IN 4 AND A QUARTER YEARS!! (I only just realised that!!)
I dont really, truthfully remember the baby days, it was like one big 4 year newborn/nappy/toddler faze, to be honest, it was hell!
Im very much looking forward to this gap, mainly because all the elder ones will be in school/kindy, so I will have time to sit during the day with bubs!
The only real advantage to having close babies is you are used to not sleeping, and it is just the norm, where as now, Ive got to recondition myself to not having sleep!
I actually had 3 in nappies at one stage, which was expensive!
I also tandem fed Ainsley and Callum, which was an experience in itself!

I had two in nappies for about 20mths. I used cloth and people were nuts but I said I'd rather be spending $60 every 2mths on disposables (for night use) than $60 a week on sposies. Couldn't imagine doing it with 3 in nappies!!
