Hi all , just wondering what you have tried your bubs on food wise and how did they take it. Does anyone know what age I could start weetbix? Im guessing a little while off yet.

Hi there my 7 month old is eating beef/veg/rice. Chicken/veg/pasta. Banana, avocado, yoghurt, pears, apples, tuna, sucks on bread.
I'm stuck on new things to give him

My 7 month old DD eats EVERYTHING! Seriously. She just eats what we eat. She loves corn on the cob at the moment.
Today she's had scrambled eggs, a little bit of toast, yoghurt, roast chicken, honeydew melon, rock melon, orange, corn, spinach and feta muffin, steak, dolmade, watermelon, broccoli, peach, pickle, sweet potato and penne pasta with pesto.
She eats a lot of food!!!
Weetbix have some salt and sugar in them, so you'd need to consider that. Plus I think it tastes like cardboard! :P

DS has allergies and we had to eliminate everything from his diet as we weren't sure what it was.. Didn't exactly follow the four day rule to start with.. :( .. He has Neocate which is a formula which provides him everything he needs and we have just reintroduced pumpkin, sweet potato, apples and bananas. Not all at once of course :) because he went back we have had to start on puréed food again.. Now up to mash! Going I try some normal potato with sweet potato tomorrow. Exciting times. Haha.
Mainly mashed up veggies and fruit separately and mixed together;
brocoli
carrot
pumpkin
sweet potato
zucchini
apple
pear
banana
It might be time to start broadening things a bit though and giving chicken a crack...

My DS is very conservative :D He sticks to his favourites (sweet potato, potato, carrot, pumpkin, broccoli, spinach,... apple, pear, avocado, beef, salmon, egg yolk, rice crackers, farex cereal, bellamy porridge, bread, rice). He refused some foods at first but ate them on second or third trial (yoghurt, cucumber, chicken, banana). He hates capsicum and doesn't like water melon or rock melon.
Sweet potato, pear, apple, pumpkin, banana, avocado, strawberries, that's it so far. My DS is only 6 months though, so still on purée.
My DS is nearly 11mths now, but at 7mths was eating everything listed above. He especially loved chicken, salmon, watermelon, rockmelon.
Weetbix are fine from 6mths - just buy the kids one that has less salt. I mix mine with banana and DS loves them.
My DD is 6.5 months and has been in puréed food for 2 months now.
How can I make food that has small lumps in it? What is the best way? I normally just use a hand blender thing.
And how do u blend meat? Like chicken? I am sooo confused!!

One slice of bread has more salt than two weetbix (well, the one I compared did, depends on the bread you use). You might want to check your bread too.

Why don't you try just hand mashing it with a fork? Also with meat/chicken or fish try mincing it, then there is no need to blend!

A fork! Of course! Haha I feel so silly!!! Thank you!
How would I mince it!??

Some meats I have bought already minced like chicken and pork and then I run it all through the food processor after I've boiled it with the veggies. I also chop chicken into small pieces and put it in the processor as well - adding more veggies than chicken makes the consistency more runny.

Yes food processor if you don't have a mincer but for the small piece you would use you could even just cut it up yourself into tiny pieces with a knife , or your butcher will mince anything for you if you ask!
Thanks for the help! I was wondering how to introduce meat!
Do u think I should do lumpy veggies first though?

I did BLW so can't offer advice on lumpy stuff ! But I would just make a bolognese mince sauce and give her that, also don't be afraid to give her fish, either grill it and flake it into little pieces ( salmon is great) same with chicken - make a chicken bolognese or just make some homemade fish or chicken nuggets
I know your not doing BLW but grill a lamb cutlet and let her suck on it ! It's great practice getting her to hold food, it's way too big for her to bite off and choke on anything but she gets the meat juices which have vitamins ! ( plus a great photo op!)

DD is just over 8 months and eats:
Pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, peas, zucchini, beans, broccoli, avocado, yoghurt, toast, apple, pear and I've just introduced chicken which she loves. Sometimes she gets packet foods (if I'm out of home made ones) which is usually a mix of fruits.
We used to give her farex but it just caused constipation even when I mixed it with pear. She also has the rusks and rice crackers to snack on.
I've started leaving lumps in her food now and she still has the odd gag but is getting much better.
Have also tried giving her finger foods but apart from the rusks, everything just turns to something to play with and doesn't end up in the mouth yet.

Yep this is about what we have done too and avo mashed. Although we only just added fine minced chicken thighs. We are following the "Contented little baby" Book. So have only just started feeding at 6mths. Oh and DH tried her on pawpaw. She hates that and I dont blame her lol
