Are there any current users with young ones with Laryngomalacia?
My 2.5 week old DD had her CFHN appointment yesterday, and the nurse commented on her squeaky noise she makes while feeding. I had just put it off as her gulping my over supply of milk, but the nurse suggested I see my GP.
I gave him a call to see if he wanted me to come in, but as I was feeding her whilst on the phone, he could hear her and diagnosed it as Laryngomalacia, but said we could wait the month until her 6 wk check for further investigation and that so long as she was feeding well I had nothing to worry about.
She's definitely feeding well (put on 350gr in a week), but I think she's starting to suffer from reflux as by the end of the night (4am-ish) she's increasingly grizzly and this morning sounded like she was in pain. She possets after most feeds (just a little) which I thought was normal?? And she burps well, but just gets grunty, groany and tense at times...which at first I thought was her poohing, but often coincides with a clean (but wet) nappy.
I'm going to elevate her Basinette tonight, and put into practice some of the other reflux management ideas offered by the reflux association, but I just wanted an opinion about when I should take her back to the doctors..he will happily see her anytime, but if there's nothing he can do for a newborn with these two conditions, and she's not actually in danger, perhaps we just need to ride it out until she can be treated?
