As I hadn't planned on poas and was so surprised to see a BFP it took me til Fri to make an appointment. I'll be seeing my GP at 5pm today. I am so hoping she confirms our news. Just saw a GP. He made me have another urine test but it was negative.
I'm not too worried as I had another Frer this morning which was clearly positive :D

I have read that doctors have not so sensitive urine tests. He also did a blood test and I am going back tomorrow 5pm to get the results.
I am nervous!!!

I've also made a 10 week appointment with an OB that came very well recommended, and bought 2 pregnancy books already. Can you tell I am a little obsessive?!! :laughing:

I got my BFP at 10dpo on Sat and have been testing everyday since! Due 2nd April and this will be our 2nd child we have a DD who is 20 mo.

Some of the early tests are very sensitive. I did an early one, but then did 'first day of your missed period' ones too til they came up +ve too. I reckon go see your dr when you get a positive cos it shows up earlier in blood than urine.

My appointment was a bit of a non event. The doctor said he had full faith in the home preg test and went forward from there by congratulating me on being pregnant. I am having a 6-7 week dating scan in 2-3 weeks. Hope the Doc is right. I've started to worry about m/c, but I really have no reason.

We got our bfp on sunday, af isn't due till thursday, I keep testing every morning just to see that line get darker and darker. Had my hcg done yesterday, it was 23, going to have it done again next monday just to make sure it's going up ok. I have already booked into an antenatal clinic with my ob, first appointment is next thursday.

hello ladies!

so it seems most of you will get a scan soonish? I have booked with an OB but 1st appointment is only at 10wks so early Sept :-(

I think my Hcg are fine, 43ish and I wasn't even 4wks so I am not surprised its low and it is still in the normal range.
My BBT is still high and IC are getting darker too.

Can't wait for that other BT on Sat though and especially the results next week :-)

Only symptoms are some spots on my face and a little more tired at night.
So far I can manage it by exercising for 45min every day and get to bed by 10.30pm :-)

I've only told my sisters and my bff and dp of course lol.

I've also told all the girls at work, I work at a doctors surgery taking bloods so I sort of had to cause I can't take my own bloods and I have to get someone else to do it and I figured if the worst happens and I need to take time off they'll be more understanding if they know what's going on iykwim.

When is everyone telling their older children ? Dp wants to wait till after our 20 week scan because 9 months is such a long time for them to wait, wdyt ?

We've told lots of people too. We both told our siblings (I've got lots), dp's parents, my Mum (not Dad yet), dp was so excited he told his 2 good friends and I had to tell a number of people at work as I couldn't remain in my same role. All that and I'm only 41/2 weeks. So much for 12 weeks! We are so excited 12 weeks was never really an option!

I got a BFP today at 11/12dpo, so according to my LMP will be due early April :) I will probably be making an appointment with my doctor for next week (AF is not due until the weekend for will wait for the missed period) to get it all confirmed. It's my first too.

I am getting married in September in Europe. Everything was booked and organized but we have a last minute change of location (city). It's a long story... But I know need to cancel everything and re-organize it all in the new location. So far I only have the venue. No celebrant, no caterer... :freakingout:
So I can't think too much about the pregnancy which is good.

I'm stressing a bit about being able to fit in my gown though... I'll be 14 wks on the wedding day so hopefully won't have much of a tummy. :rolleyes:

Hi everyone

I got my BFP last Friday, but have been waiting patiently for AF's date to pass. Today I am 15DPO and officially one day late! I also had a blood test yesterday and my hcg level was 314, which I'm pretty happy about.

This will be my third pregnancy. I have one DS who is 18 months old and in April this year I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. So I am very nervous with this pregnancy to say the least!

Nope, we haven't told anyone. In fact we're not going to tell our parents until we're past 12 weeks and then we're not going to tell anyone else until it's too obvious.

Emotions:
For me, they are all over the place. DP is getting in trouble for jokes that use to make me laugh, I am moody and could cry at the drop of a hat. I have NEVER experienced this before. Not even as a moody teen. I am still over the moon with happiness, but oh so sensitive. Is anyone else feeling this? What are you doing to manage it?

Ginny83, I feel the same. I don't want to tell the parents before week 12. Not keen to tell friends anymore and you will understand why further down the post.

Magic81, your post make me laugh!! I am the same, DH gets in trouble for his joke that usually makes me laugh. Def emotional!!

Actually I am very upset at the moment... The hormones finally kicked in!
But even without the hormones, it is a very challenging time for me, as my mum had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is starting treatment now. She lives back in Europe and I feel so sad and useless being so far away. :(

We had to change our wedding plans, cancel everything that was booked and start from scratch (same date - different city). That way the wedding is very close to where mym is being treated (radiotherapie). And she will not get tired travelling around.
So very emotional regardless of hormones, and very stressed and busy too.

Last night we went out with friends for a pub meal.
Somehow during the meal, my girlfriends started to talk about pregnant bride. Well that was NOT pretty. It was quite harsh... :(
Ranging from "I don't understand why one would get married pg?! It is stupid, it's better to have the baby THEN get married" to "It would waste the wedding, you can't party nor have a good time!" by "No way you can look good as a pregnant bride". And it went on and on and on... :(
I took every harsh comment to heart obviously and spent all the way home in tears. Still feeling down this morning ...

Good thing is I am not ready to share the news with any of them now!! :laughing:
I actually am entertaining the idea of not telling anyone until after the wedding. I just realised how judgmental people can be. :(

Not sure how to manage that... I will start by avoiding this judgmental people - which will be hard as they are kind of my only friends here and they are invited for dinner on Saturday...
I try and communicate a lot with DH to explain my feelings and also I explain what he can do to help me. And what he should NOT do, like trying to rationalise and tell me it is stupid to feel this way etc. I know it is stupid but I don't control it.

I keep exercising every day, it helps to get things out :) And tomorrow I will try and get a massage. Oh and also, I go to bed very early! Nothing worse than being tired to top it all ;)

I think women can get very catty judging other people's wedding too - people should just realise that a wedding it not suppose to be for anyone else besides the people getting married?!

Just wait until you have bubs - unfortunately there's always someone judging saying you should be doing this or that!

I got my BFP on Wednesday night:smiliedance: and it puts my due date to 6th April. My doc said not to worry about coming to see him til i am about 6 weeks (He also on hols atm so i have made an appt for when he gets back) and then he will do blood test etc... I am soo excited this will be my 2nd baby but 1st with my Husband.
We had been trying for a few months and this month it finally happened. Woohoo

I did an Oracle fertility test and it was crazy feint I thought my eyes were deceiving me but I have been sick and really not feeling right and got a clear blue digital and TAH DAH!

Lili81 thats horrible :( I think its lovely, you guys will have your little one there with you on the day keeping nice and warm snuggled up in your tummy :) ppl are always going to have an opinion on when is the "right time" to have a baby, to tell you the truth, I dnt think there ever is! And what suits one person might not suit another. I had a close friend say to me once, how her work colleague was coming back to work at 6 mths, and she aed I dnt know why she bothered having a kid if she isnt going to stay home with it, I took such offense to that as I went vack to work at 7 mths! So whats the difference, possibly she thought because I do shift work and do nights its differebt. But I just thought, you have no idea. not everyone can stay home!

@Lili81 I'm so sorry for your mum! My mum was going through chemo when we had DS#1 and also during our wedding. It was hell. I hope your mum gets through the other side a stronger person. <3 Also people say the silliest things eg. your gf about pregnant brides but they will quickly change their tune. It was a rude thing to say but she didn't know :( Hopefully she will remember and apologize.

My hormones kicked in big time this morning with a splitting headache and bawling my eyes out at the olympic opening ceremony!!

We won't be telling anyone until 12 weeks, we had to tell with our first as I was getting married 5 weeks later and it was a very christian ceremony and I had really bad morning sickness! So it was a little bit obvious so we decided to tell before the wedding so people could decide if they supported us. They all did. :)

I have my fingers crossed for a very healthy pregnancy!! I don't think I can cope with another 8 months of morning sickness! DS#1 I had MS from 3 weeks-37 weeks when we delivered.
So far i've been sick a few times but more of the frequent urination and headaches than anything else!

I have got no symptoms so far, just 4 days of extreeeemely dark positives on my HPTs. AF still isn't even due until tomorrow (Sunday)!

I have a doctors appointment next week to get referrals for bloods and an early dating scan and will probably book in to get those done the week after (approx 6 weeks). Thinking very sticky thoughts!

I have a 16mo DD. We haven't told anyone yet, after it's all been confirmed with the doctor we will tell our parents and probably a couple of close friends. Looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing this journey with you x

I went to the dr yesterday and had bloods, etc and going for a dating scan next week. My LMP was 7 weeks ago but I'm pretty sure I know when I ovulated so I'm sure I'm not that far along, so I guess we will see. The GP that I'm seeing has a U/S machine in his room, so if I stress out at anytime he will be happy to take a look for me which is great! We're going public at the hospital I work at, hopefully if all goes well I plan on only staying one night this time! I was absolutely itching to leave last time.

How early can you get a dating scan? I remember getting one with my DD but cant remember how early it was, but apparently too early as they could only see sac, so dont want to do it too early.

Chumley- After a 12 hour sleep last night (thank you hubby!) I don't have any symptoms which is freaking me out. DS#1 I had hyperemesis. Definitely doesn't feel real yet!

Bubbaboo10- With DS I was 7weeks but they reckoned 6 weeks but we didn't know when we concieved. Now because of OPKs I will definitely be waiting until at least 6 weeks, possibly even 7 so we can get a better measurement. :)

Did my bfp yesterday and really didnt expect a +! I dont know when I ovulated- this is 2nd cycle after 2 yrs with noperiod!
So so so so excited!!
I will be due on 8th like akeastall- and am prone to severe hyperemesis!

I have DD bdays on 3rd and 19th April so in between would be great!!

I got my BFP today! :hyper::hyper::hyper: I'll be due on the 10th of April.

I was feeling MS-type queasiness for the whole day yesterday, and have done for most of today too. I did an IC test yesterday morning and got the faintest shadow of a line.
Well, I somehow managed to hold off testing with a FRER until this morning and got a faint line. I did an IC first to see if there was anything there and because there was a shadow (although to be fair, darker than yesterdays!) I did the FRER to check.
After the chem I had in April, I'm a bit paranoid but the MS is making me feel a lot more confident as I didn't have any at all with the chem, and I had very little with DS. Apparently early MS is a good sign of good, solid implantation.
At the moment I'm kind of in shock, and thrilled. It's taken 6 months and one chem to get here and while it's not that long really it felt like FOREVER! Lol.

I'm not going to get bloods done for a couple of weeks, partially because I'm paranoid as I had bloods done well early for the chem and look how that turned out heh... But also because the earlier I have a confirmed, viable pregnancy, the earlier my boss finds out!
Yay for having your medical all sorted through work *chuckle*.

Wow, talk about verbal diarrhea lol. Sorry, I just can't help myself, I'm so excited and I haven't told DH yet because I decided to wait until I get a darker line tomorrow to show him.
He was just as upset as me when I had the chem and the line never got darker, so at least I can try to avoid that for him.

Oh and as someone else pointed out, I should have known it would happen this cycle. DS's b'day is on the 19th of April, and mine is the 21st of April. This little munchkin is going to make it an expensive month! Hahaha.

Please can I join? After having an early miscarriage in May I am pregnant again. I found out last week and have had one blood test which showed my HCG to be 91 which is good for only being 4 weeks... I have got another blood test tomorrow to see if my levels are rising as they should. Going by my dates I should be due 6th April... this will be my second baby, my DS is 14 months old.

It depends on when you have the scan done. I had mine for DS I *think* at about 8-9 weeks, and it wasn't internal although they did have the gear to do it that way if needed.
I think any earlier and they'd most likely do an internal. You wouldn't see much though, certainly the sac but I wouldn't expect to see much more than that. It's very unlikely that you'd see anything 'baby-like'. It's just not big enough to see yet.
And yep, generally it's just for them to work out how far along you are, and if it's late enough they'll get a reading of the heart rate and let you have a listen for a while :).

I just knew i was pregnant this time i could feel it (different to last time) sore boobs, slight cramps, so tired, bad backache and i can actually feel that im pregnant. I am going to beg for a dating scan even though I know my dates I just need to know everything is okay after so many problems with DS#1 Depending on how early you have it, it will be internal. They try external first usually and then go internal :) I've had internal scans the last three months so I'm semi used to it now :)

My GP prescribed an "urgent" US to me on Saturday. I am supposed to call and have it done asap this week. A little confused as I am not even 5 weeks - but my GP kept saying I was 7 wks as one need to add 2 weeks to the calc.

I have counted 10 times, and with my LPM being on 26 Jun, I am sure of my count. Will speak to the US clinic tomorrow and see if they think there's any point doing an US that early...

Hi All, I got my BFP on Friday so I'm due around 8-9th April (depending on which iPhone app I use lol). I'm having a bit of deja vu as I was reading posts in this thread last week thinking I can't wait to join one of these threads and lo and behold-here I am!! My DP is being hesitant so he doesn't believe until the dr says yes-despite a + everyday since Friday-I think because of the faint lines but this morning it was very dark which he didn't get to see it as he leaves for work early.
I'm making a drs app'ment today and I'm nervous as hell!!! This is my first and DP's 3rd. We're hoping for a boy-he has 2 gorgeous girls!

I just made an appointment with my GP for Thursday afternoon. I think DH is really looking forward to a doctor confirming the pregnancy because it will make it feel a bit more real for him. To be honest, it will make it feel more real for me too!

akeastall, so sorry to hear about your mum and chemo. I can relate on how hard it must have been. We are lucky that mum's breast cancer was caught very early.
Fingers crossed that this time around you don't even get MS. I have heard one pregnancy can be really different from another.
This GP is nuts, the US clinic confirmed that I was only 5wks pg. Not sure if I will get that dating scan as it's $180 :eek:

AFM, Mum has had her sugery and I don't think it could have gone any better. I feel so much better now. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest, a weight I did not even know was there. She feels great too and so relieved. Ah I am so happy!! :D
So now my friends comments do not matter the least... :p

2012 was such a bad year so far. I have lost my grand mother and 3 persons in my close entourage have lost their mum suddently (all were 60ish year old). And now this (mum and her breast cancer). So this had a huge affect on our TTC decision.

akeastall, so sorry to hear about your mum and chemo. I can relate on how hard it must have been. We are lucky that mum's breast cancer was caught very early.
Fingers crossed that this time around you don't even get MS. I have heard one pregnancy can be really different from another.
This GP is nuts, the US clinic confirmed that I was only 5wks pg. Not sure if I will get that dating scan as it's $180 :eek:

AFM, Mum has had her sugery and I don't think it could have gone any better. I feel so much better now. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest, a weight I did not even know was there. She feels great too and so relieved. Ah I am so happy!! :D

2012 was such a bad year so far. I have lost my grand mother and 3 persons in my close entourage have lost their mum suddently (all were 60ish year old). And now this (mum and her breast cancer). So this had a huge affect on our TTC decision.

I've had the worst cold last week and now it's turned into the worst cough ever! I'm going insane. And Hubby has just had a puking session this morning so now I'm worried he has gastro. Magic81 you don't need to do anything with your Facebook settings. As long as the group is set up at secret none of your facebook friends can see your posts within the group. You don't need to be facebook friends with other members of the group either so they won't be able to see your wall/statuses. Hth :)

About the FB group- It's set to secret- You only have to add me so I can add you to the group and then you can feel free to delete me but it's totally up to you :) No one can see posts except the girls in the group and yourself :) It is very early but I hate not having a thread of our own on BH :( And I am on Facebook A LOT!

In my last pregnancy it was a great resource and I'm still in contact with many of the girls :) We even had play dates with our babies I think we had ten 2 month old babies at once!

I think they do bloods and scans early only if you are in a higher risk group like age or previous loss etc.

I didn't have them with my dd, but had scan at 7wks with ds due to spotting. Lost #3 at 11 wks so have had two bloods done now and will have a scan in 21st. Will be 7wks then.

I'd like to join this group too. Just found out on Thursday that I am pregnant and due 20th of April (from my calculations anyways). Was a bit of a surprise and its our first bub so my fiance is so excited. Doc appointment on Monday so I guess he will tell me what to expect/do next!

I just found out last Wednesday that I am pregnant with my first. We have been trying for 6 months. Had an ultrasound yesterday and am due 22 April! I am nervous and excited!

Hi Ladies,

I am only new to the forum, but as i was browing i saw the April due date thread! so exciting. I have also received my due date 24th April :) (based on my LMP it should have been the 17th of spril but the ultrasound came back with a more acurate date. We have been trying to conceive since about may, we didnt think it would happen so quickly but we are extremly excited. when i did the hpt it was very faint both times and i was 8 days over due, when we went to the doctor his test was also very faint (easy to miss if i had not mentioned the very faint line i got twice) bloods came back the same day at 145 and this was either meaning it was not viable or very early, so i have been tested every two days to ensure levels were rising , Which they did very quickly so that was good, and just this monday past we had an early ultra sound due to possibility of an ectopic pregnancy but we were rest assured bubb was in correct spot and its heart was beating strong. So very relevied and happy, such an exciting time and it will be awsome to share the journey with you guys(hopefully we will get to know each other) other question how is everyone going with morning sickness? do you multi vitamins cause you to feel ill? i have a new(only discovered while preg) underactive thyroid so i am taking meds for this and thought my nautios feeling were also from these, but today i only took thyroid meds today and the queezieness has subsided a bit so i am asssuming its the vitamins, so yeah are you guys having similar issue?

Hi I am new to this group. I am due in April. I have had a rough couple of weeks with bleeding and ultrasound not showing anything but sac that is growing and yolk sac going to have ultrasound Monday to check for fetal pole and heartbeat. I lost a baby 2 months ago at 23 weeks he was due on 6 october which has been hard on me and knowing I am pregnant I am happy but scared at same time. Hope on Monday I can be more excited I am about 7 weeks pregnant.

Hi Amanda,
When you said about the multi's making you feel sick, I agree. I was taking elevit while we were trying with no problems. Once I found out that I was pregnant now it makes me feels sick and I have stopped taking it.
All last week (week 6) I felt crampy and sore all morning every day, I think due to constipation but now week 7 has hit, the actual morning sickness has started. Yuk!

hey congrats on being due ap 1st, i am due ap 20th and my ms is a b#@%h i am ready for it to be over, i have to take maxillon (mind blank i think thats the name) to try and get through the day with out puking, and so my dd doesnt freak out. how are you doing?

My MS started week 7 and was bed ridden for that week,I have not spewed once but sometimes I think if I did would it make me feel better?!
I've had bad headaches and very tired all the time.
I feel sorry for my fiancé as all I feel like I do is complain! Haha. But everything seems to be slowly disappearing :)
I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and get my first ultrasound (longest 8 weeks of my life!) figures crossed everything goes well!

Hi everyone, not sure if i'm posting in the right spot or not. I did go on another thread.
Anyway, this is number 5 for us. Due on the 29th April. I found out on the 18th August so thought I was a little further along but seems i ovulated later this time round. My ms pretty much started straight away.....not alot of vomiting, mostly dry reaching. It seems to be ok atm, more tired than anything and that horrible metallic taste in my mouth.
Looking forward to getting to know you all more. ;)

Baby number 2 on the way here...!!...i'm due..i think 23 April!... Have OB check next Thursday..so hoping all is well and we get to hear the heart beating! It's always the one thing that brings it home! :) Have had nausea all day every day.. but thankfully nothing more and hoping it will go away at 13 weeks like it did for DD!! :fingerscrossed:

I'm due in April too! The doctor says April 28th and the scan lady says April 30th so we'll see what happens!!
I had a m/c at 9 weeks in February so am keeping everything crossed that everything goes ok this time around. Have more symptoms and feel different this time around so I'm assuming that's a good thing.

We haven't told anyone yet, might next week just wanted to get past the 9 week mark.

Hiya ladies,I'm due on 11th I thought I was due on the 1st but u/s showed later dates. Which is probably a good thing as my first was induced at 15days over and second was 4 days late so better to think this ones coming later rather than sooner!! My m/s has subsided thankfully but wake up feeling like I drank til 3 am the night before most mornings, and am ready for a nap by lunch!! Hope everyone else is dealing better than I am!!
