I am on my 3rd round of Clomid, the first one ended a 179 day cycle for me as I was not Oing by myself due to PCOS. The second one they thought I wouldnt O but ended up Oing a week late. This 3rd cycle I am going unmonitored so I am not having the blood tests and scans. I have been a bit worried that considering last cycle I might not O at all this cycle. They have given me 2 cycles unmonitored and if im still not pregnant by then I have to go back for a Laparoscopy and further treatment advice (probably IUI before IVF).

On Clomid I had headaches and I still have them now (not as full on but pretty much a couple of times every day) as well as what i describe as a 'sickly' feeling in my lower abdomen the last few days. It is near my pelvis bones and feels similar to what I get when AF is coming or here. Its not that I think AF is here (im only CD15!) its just wiered that I am feeling these things mid cycle and not when i am actively taking Clomid.

My temps since I have been on Clomid have always been really stable (around 36.40+ - 36.51) on Clomid but Monday I had a decent dip to 36.27 and Tuesday a decent rise back to 36.57, not huge but over my normal temps... it is a bit early to O after my clomid as I was only on 5dpC (days past Clomid). Today was exactly the same temp, 36.57.

Im a bit worried because my temps have not gone AWOL while on Clomid but they were like that before I started Clomid when I had no cycle and my hormones were baseline. Im concerned that perhaps Clomid isnt working and my hormones are running amok again....

Im so confused. I cant call my FS at work as there is no privacy and if I go outside to call the street noice is too loud to hear anything!

A link to my FF chart is below in my signature.... (as well as my TTC Diary which gives more info)

Has anyone on Clomid experianced similar things?
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?
Am I freaking out for nothing?
:gloomy:

Sorry did you mention how much clomid you are taking each time?
For my first ever corse of clomid it was 50 mg and that failed so i went straight to 100mg for the next cycle.... I wasnt sure if you are still only taking 50mg or did they up the dose.

Hey hun!

If you look at my chart, you'll notice a big early dip too, but I'm being monitored, so I know I hav'nt Od yet. Remember that every cycle is diff when you have PCOS and this can play with your temps too.

I guess the best thing to do is BD every second day from here on and watch your fertility signs very carefully. Have you tired an OPK?

I think you're just a little worried as this is your first unmonitored cycle.

You will O! I guess at the end of the day, if you're trying to BD at least every 2nd day till O is confirmed, then you're in with a good chance. Personally, I used maybe baby for a while but the last couple of months I used it, it kept ferning because having PCOS my Oestrogen levels were everywhere. BUT when I used OPK's I got a positive at the time FF confirmed I Od, so maybe give OPKs a go?

Good luck hun, you're :bfp: is just around the corner!

Thanks guys.

I am still on 50mg, i was hoping they would up it but they didnt want to.

Its just really wiered that I am getting these headaches (which I get relating to my hormones) and upset abdominal area.

I have a box of OPKs that my naturopath gave me, i have not used them yet. There is 6 in there so i dont want to waste them! Might have to visit Lullaby Conceptios to see what they are offering in the way of cheap OPKs...

Nicole....... they probably arn't upping Clomid dose so they can use that as a last resort, so maybe they will try 100mg if you hav'nt got a :bfp: in two months (I think you will). This way, there are more options besides going straight to IVF IYKWIM.

As in relation to headaches, I still get hot flushes from taking Clomid and my stomach is always upset (I have IBS too, lucky ducky me  ). BUT you will be pg this month so won't need to worry too much bout the headaches!:D

As for OPKs, try ebay, you can buy a whole heap for a very reasonable price. I've used them before and they have worked for me!

:fingerscrossed: you O soon!

Hi Nicole Im not sure what it means but I would continue to bd every second day maybe more if possible that way you have a good chance to catch that egg.

I think I remember you saying you could call your FS and request the tests if you want to maybe that is an option if it gives you peace of mind it may be worth it

Try the OPK's I recently got some from lullaby conceptions I got the huge big pack 30 OPK's 15HPT and a few other freebies chucked in and it cost about $60.00 which is reasonable if you look at how much that would have cost in the chemist or supermarket.
