The Little Musos program is a pre-school music program aimed at children from ages 0-5.
All our classes are small and held in our family friendly music studios to ensure that children are in the best possible learning environment.
The program exposes young children to the joys of music, with support and participation by parents/carers alongside the children as they work their way through each session.
Activities include action songs, creative movement, dance, beat and rhythm playing on tuned and untuned percusssion, puppets, scarves and other fun props.
Children are introduced to the musical terms and concepts in a practical way so that they understand and can "hear" them in the music. A mix of Contemporary music, world music and traditional childrens songs are used in almost every session.
Each term has a different musical focus and there are 5 week themes such as Wacky Weather, Fantastic Food, Magic Toybox, and more.
Sessions are between $12 and $15 for a 30 minute session per child. Siblings get 10% discount.
Classes are organised by age:
The Little Baby Muso sessions (6-24 months) are designed to provide the "big people" in babies life, with lots of musical activities to learn and take home for use in everyday life.Activities include: Singing, movement, rhymes, finger plays, puppets, stories, percussion instruments.
The Little Toddler Muso sessions (2-3 years) are designed to give children experience of the various musical activities in a fun relaxed atmosphere.
Children are introduced and learn to understand musical concepts and to respond to by movement, song or playing from developing their listening skills.Learn the terminology and meaning of the musical concepts of Tempo, Dynamics, Pitch, Beat and Rhythm through each story like themed class.
The Little Rockstars (4-5 year olds)is the NEW program for the big-little kids! These sessions have an emphasis on performance and learning to read music. Over the first 4 weeks, children will learn a dance, a song and an instrumental piece to perform in week 5 (for friends and family). Children (and big people) will also learn how to read and play beat, rhythm, pitch, dynamics, tempo and more in preparation for learning to play an instrument.
Classes are located in Diamond Creek, Fitzroy, Reservoir & Rosanna
