I am going to find a big pumpkin this year and carve it I looked for an outfit for Eliza but can't find one so will make one for her

ohh exciting!!

If I manage it I'll post a picture of her!

*barging into the UK section*

I miss it, especially getting DD dressed up and taking her around to show off. :( I have never seen a pumpkin here that's big enough to carve.

Yeah it's big over in Canada to eh, America is the same bigger than the UK even!
I was thinking this morning there is a Spooky shop here in the city so if I get time I am going to go there and see what they have that I can use lol

When we were in the UK it seemed to be a non-event. We only had a few kids come to the door, and they arrived 3 days early without costumes, lol. I told them to work on it and come back on the right night.

It's huge in Canada and the USA. I loved dressing up. My mum will have dozens to a hundred kids at her door.

was big when I was kid on Smerset/Dorset borders!! My mum used to hold big halloween parties for us - everyone would come in costume and we'd play spooky games...and bob for an apple, and always toffee apples...she'd also make a whole selection of gruesome looking foods which actually tasted yummy - spaghetti worms, fruit punch with fly icecubes etc etc...we didnt go trick or treating cos we would have had to walk mile and half in dark to get to first house!! ha ha hence the parties I think...but when I lived in Sherborne (2 years ago) kids and adults alike out in costume...partying at pubs and kids knocking doors! hten 6 days later Guy Fawkes Night and fireworks and huge bonfires - with mulled wine, hot chocolate and hot dogs!! God I miss this time of year at home!!! ah well less than 2 months till we fly home for xmas...and all that special festivity that goes with it back home :) cant wait for everyone to meet Matilda!!
Oh matilda has an outfit!!! a osh kosh all in one with pumpkins and ghosts and cats on it and my first halloween - sent from her godmother in the states...I cant wait till next Tuesday - I have bought the pumpkin...and going to make some toffee apples and make sure I have some sweeties in just in case anyone does pop by!!

I think in the UK Guy Fawkes night was bigger than Haloween, I used to LOVE that!
Massive bonfires and fireworks.

I lived in Canada when i was little so had fantastic halloween nights.. I never really noticed they made a thing of it in the UK.

We are going to a Halloween party on Saturday night so excited. Going to dress as a witch and had an idea for DD she has a red spotty dress so going to make her mouse ears and she can go as Minnie mouse. Just need to figure how to make them....

The kids here dress up and come round trick or treating - always seems a bit strange in the daylight though!!
