Itchy nipples

I am BF my 6 mth DD. I have been having itchy nipples (mainly areola) the past few weeks especially after feeds. Does anyone have the same experience? Is there a cream that can help?

itchy, could be dermatitis/eczema, maybe check with a gp ,
itchy/painful, maybe thrush.

sounds more like a dermatitis. try avoiding soaps on your nipples and maybe the ole hindmilk and air drying might help?

Sort of have the same thing I think and was told by doctor that it is thrush.. Started of sore but now very itching during let down and feeding!
You would need to check with your doctor but I am using daktarin oral gel for bubs and me and also on a course of tablets, hope this helps you a little..

Thanks for your replies. It looks like dermatitis as I also suffer from mild eczema on my neck. Air drying and moisturising actually helped.
