My wonderful Hubby is going through agony at the moment. His skin is insanely itchy for no apparent reason.

What can i put on it to releave the itch?

i think it depends on why its itchy. coco butter works really well for me when my skin is irritated but if its a rash, i would get it checked out.

Paraderm Plus did wonders for my kids when they had chicken pox as it is an anti-inflammatory and an anesthetic cream. Costs about $8-9 from the chemist.

Has he seen a Dr about it?

For immediate relief try cold water. An ice pack from the fridge or a cold shower. It kind of numbs the itch.

Better get to the doc's if it doesn't ease up!

Maybe also try calamine lotion.

I just had a bout of severe itchy skin and ended up needing medication to help relive it.

Does he have any other symptoms??

Also agree with angel_kisses9798, Panaderm Plus did wonders on my skin too

we think it was a reaction something on the sheets i had just put on the bed. so am now the process of washing everything in the linen cupboard. Of late our house has been infested with goodness knows what - time to save money for pest control me thinks...

A shower might help, just to rule out that he might STILL have something on his skin, irritating him and making the itch worse. At least it shouldn't get any worse after that. If it does, it may be an allergy, a mild antihistamine might help (like Telfast) but he should see a doc if so.

Got any Stingose or even just baby moisturiser? It might help calm the skin too.

Good luck!

my DH and I both had this issue in the past couple of months - it was agonising. the Dr did a blood test because crawling skin (with no rash) can indicate fairly serious conditions relating to liver dysfunction. he also sent me to a dermatologist who was no help at all and recommended QV moisturiser. it was my legs and arms mainly.

Try switching washing detergents to a sensitive skin variety and you may want to try hot washing your sheets and his clothes in case it's some kind of microbe bug living in your laundry. Don't let him use soap on his skin, it will make it worse and the colder the shower the better. HOt showers will make the situation much worse.

Could also try an anti-histamine like zyrtec or tylenol.
If it's a dust mite allergy you could get protective covers for the mattress and pillows.

Good luck - let me know what works!!
