View Full Version : December babies- do you get presents for them mid-year?

My son's birthday is two days after Christmas. Which means we get a massive influx of toys at that time of year and nothing for the rest of the year. I try to make sure we get him two separate presents for Christmas and birthday and not combine, just so he feels a bit special (not so important at his age I know, but we want to get traditions going..).

So I'm wondering, anyone else out there with December babies, do you get toys for your child at other times during the year?

subscribing as we are in the same boat and am interested to hear what others are doing.

I have a Feb baby and yes he gets mid year presents. We don't really buy toys at other times so by mid year the toys from Xmas/b'day are too young for him for the most part.

I have a January baby, and he gets new things throughout the year. Every few weeks I'll get him a new toy, some books, a CD etc. I don't give him a massive stash other than his Birthday, Easter, Xmas, he just gets new stuff every now and then.

My son is on 5th of January and daughter on the 8th. last year he turned 1 so no separate gifts, but we did get one christmas present for her and than on her b-day the rest of the presents. but similar to tainted we are giving them a new toy every few weeks. I actually kept few presents from the birthdays to give them through the year and also buying on toy sales...
I think I love the toy sales more than they do...

my dd2 is 21st dec and I do buy what she needs through the year that includes toys as she outgrows them. Im planing on maybe having partys in the middle of the year when it comes to school

My youngest daughter has her bday dec 15. She hates that her sister has an august bday so gets presents 'twice a year' and she thinks hers all come at once (I do get separate gifts but for a 4 yr old it would feel like all at once!). I am contemplating the idea of doing presents midyear tho in coming years. I dunno tho. Hmmm food for thought :)
