Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone can recommend good book(s) to peruse in preparation for the next couple of years (child aged 1-3years)?
I've never read any of the pregnancy/birth/newborn type 'manuals' but would like to see what challenges await me in the toddler years.
Also if the book also contains activity ideas?
Thanks muchly
Lotheryn,
One book that I use as my go-to for all things baby is Touchpoints Birth to Three by Brazelton, it is written for an American audience so some of the terminology is different and the ages when we typical have a check up with the health nurse or paediatrician are slightly different. On the whole it gave me reassurance and guidance that what I was doing and experiencing with my little one was normal and also what to expect in the future.
If you want something a little lighter, and to give you a good laugh, I would suggest Kid Wrangling by Kaz Cooke. She had me in stitches.
Best of luck
Helen
I found some great nursery rhyme/song books at Nanny Annie (http://www.nanny-annie-baby-furniture.com/childsplay.php). They're great for engaging small kids - my little one loves singing along with them. They also have a good selection of board books (which are for some reason hard to find these days) - perfect for 1-3 age group. Good Luck!
I love Kaz Cooke's Kid Wrangling - it's usually the first reference I go to, even before googling
