Hello, I'm new to this kind of thing and also going to be new to Sydney soon. I'm 35 years old and currently living in London with my 20 month old daughter and we are due to join my partner (her dad) in a couple of weeks! We'll be living around Bondi for the first 3 months, but will probably end up staying around that area. It would be fantastic to meet some other mums and their children and hopefully make it not so scary! :) we can't wait to start our new adventure! Any advice, tips, nursery recommendations all gladly welcome! Hope to hear from you soon.

That is so exciting! I wish you all the best of luck Nicola76.
Australia is a wonderful country full of quirky people, and good senses of humours. Not sure if I said that right. The climate might be different, but really you just get used to the weather. If you are going to live in Bondi, there are a few good "second-hand shops," or "op-shops" there... They have some good clothes.

There may also be a crochet/knitting group if you are crafty, that meets there.
Just google knitting groups in Sydney, they should pop up.

Cheers.

Hi Mariana

I've only just seen this post so sorry for late reply. Thanks for your advice. Been here 10 months now. Still feels very new. I'm very crafty but I can't knit :) that will be something to learn. Loving this autumn weather :)
