I am currently contracting (i.e. not full time) with my employer & due to have my DD2 in about 8 weeks time. They have asked me to come back to work for them full time when I am ready to return to the workforce (I have already told them my intentions are to go back when bub is about 4 months old). However, there is no job available there for me. They are happy with my work, and would like me to go further, but they are actually "creating" a role for me. I am thrilled, but at the same time, don't want to step on anyone elses' toes when I do go back.

They have suggested that I put in a proposal to them stating my strategies, goals, intentions, budget planning, expected income, etc.

The ridiculous thing is, I do this sort of reporting all the time, but now that it is something I have to submit for myself for a job application, I am completely at a loss!

They don't want a cover letter & CV, so does anyone have any suggestions to websites etc that I should look at? I suppose I just don't want to stuff up!

Sounds like they want to you to write your own job description? But perhaps with a bit more detail? Maybe you could look around for those (if you can get such a thing from your company - that would be great). Not quite sure where to look, but you'd think that some companies and employment agencies would have examples that might come up if you google it.

The one thing that I would suggest is to make sure that they understand that this is the plan, but you might need to be flexible about it in case things don't quite go to plan IYKWIM.

Cheers

Microsoft Office online has good templates. I would keep it simple, one page, and just describe your goals, methods, KPIS, accountabilites, responsibilities and skills as a starting point?

Good luck and congrats! Be confident in your self they obviously are so just talk yourself up like you would for others!

Dont be shy now....

Thanks for that! The google search went well (after several pages of .....) and the microsoft online was pretty good for downloading a couple of templates for work anyway!

Well, I'll just have to see how I go.

Thanks again.
