We had our toy poodle clipped today and he bit and scratched Dh and the dog groomer. He is petrified of being clipped and now we think we might have to get him put to sleep just to give him a hair cut???

What else can you do to get the dog clipped without it going skitz?

He has been like this forever and we are running out of people who are willing to clip him???
Any ideas???

I have a friend who is a dog groomer who specialises in rehabilitative dog grooming i.e. the skitzo ones!

She doesn't use calming drugs either. Just techniques. It usually takes much longer than a regular clip though as it is a desensitising regime over a period of time. She's more expensive than most other groomers (of course!).

She's a sucker for punishment if you ask me, I wouldn't do it if you paid me, but if you want the details I will PM you.
