Greetings!

Are there any other Norwegians in here? I was just granted permanent residency in Australia, but still miss Norway at times.

I would love to chat to fellow Norwegian ex-pats about fermented fish, whaling, kicking hats of sticks while dancing, and all the other weird things we are into! :D

Håper å høre fra deg! :fingerscrossed:

Aw, thanks, FL! I finally have a lot more freedom. Hello bright future, here I am! :goodvibes:

PS: I got really excited there for a moment, thinking that you were of Viking heritage!

No but I am obsessed with Jo Nesbo at the moment so am a little Norway-jealous!

I'm jealous you have a language Google deems worthy of translating.

No, but you know how I (and DP) feel about your Norweigan facebook statuses, MiM. You should write another one!

I'm hooked on the tv show 'The Almighty Johnsons', it's a NZ show about Norse gods living as every day citizens in New Zealand.

I couldn't understand blissedout's response, I looked it up and its a different word in Swedish. Most of it is pretty easy to follow for English speakers, I reckon. I picked it up really easily when i was there and my best friend is Swedish so i remember quite a bit. Certainly can't speak it at all, but if its written or spoken I can usually get the gist :)

DP likes to translate Norweigan into English for me (she's a Swede) and show off how awesome she is.

She's teaching me basic Swedish. The first thing she taught me how to say was Jag (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/jag#Swedish) älskar (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%C3%A4lska) dig (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dig#Swedish).... hahaha typical.
